Don't quit after the first hour.

People need to follow The Wire rule for this game:

Don't give up during the first couple of hours. See it through and you'll be greatly rewarded.

Played this baby for like 5 hours straight today. Definitely Uncharted 2's biggest rival for my personal GOTY.

Anyway, I'm a little worried about one thing:

Just got the poison hidden blade and had another story mission to do in Florence. But I returned home to the villa first, talked to Uncle Mario, and now I have another mission that'll take me to Tuscany after one of the co-conspirators. When I returned to Florence just to make sure, the mission I had to do next there was gone.

The mission will come back, right? It's just the game letting me tackle stuff in a different order?

I know it sounds ridiculous to even worry about but I definitely want to make 100% sure I don't miss out on any story in this gem. :lol

It shouldn't be possible. It should reappear as available when you finish or abort the curent memory.

You're probably in the middle of a mission which is why other missions aren't showing up.

Wow. Just. Fucking. Wow.

Beat the game. It was absolutely amazing. :)

Although I have 910/1000 achievements, and a whole bunch of other stuff done [most of the weapons, 20 feathers], my stats for the game say I only have 64.8% complete. WTF O_O

Edit: Where do I upgrade my pouches and stuff? I don't have the achievement for that...:/

And The Truth was amazing

Tailor upgrades your pouches

Where are you getting that 64.8% number from?

Is there any point in buying the medium med pouch? Aside from completion percentage that it. Will it add to the number of vials Ezio can carry if I already have the large pouch? I'll probably not waste money on it until later on if it doesn't.

So far very impressive, the city feels even more alive than the original. If Uncharted 2 wasn't released the same year, this would be an easy GOTY candidate.

In a way this game kind of reminds me of Fable II (the whole real estate element thing and being able to dye your clothes and stuff).

I'm having a lot of fun with it so far. I keep getting distracted with all of the side things rather than the main story.

I got the same vibe too. There is just so much stuff in this game that amazes me. I'm having a really great time.

'Assassin's Playground' indeed!

The book in the Villa gives you this.

.
That only gives you the Villa completion %. It leaves out things like side quests and even some collectibles (treasure chests, statuettes, etc)

Also, its not represented in a decimal like that

Go to Start -> Options -> Stats

It should show you completion %, along with a bunch of other cool numbers :)

What's the deal with fall damage? Early on I didn't seem to lose much health even from pretty far falls, but now it seems that I lose 8/11 squares from even comparatively minor falls. Is fall damage percent based? Does it disregard your armor health bonus?

Hmmm I am getting close to the end and the narrative definitely feels weaker in this game. For some reason i got horrible flash backs to the ending of MGS4 when
pretty much every single character showed up out of nowhere in a cutscene and went "Hey were are all assassins too, isn't that neat"
. But i am going to reserve final judgment until the end but I will be disappointed if the ending is not as good as The Eagle and The Apple - 1191.

This game seems loooooong. I'm 5 hours in and it still feels really early (just learned how to build the town up).

Debating on getting the Strategy Guide - between the hidden tombs, glyphs and some other shit, it seems like you could miss a lot. Anyone have it and think it's worth getting? I haven't bought a guide since Lost Odyssey.

I've probably spent 8 hours with it so far & I haven't even gotten the option to upgrade my town yet :D Though it may be because I walk between missions & climb around just for the fun of it.

Anyone else having trouble with the 6th Truth? I think that's the one I'm stuck on anyway :lol
I'm supposed to place 5 pictures in a timeline & it's supposed to start with the apple & the snake & end under the sea of RED or something. I can't figure it out :'( Are the clips really supposed to be 0.5 seconds long?

I don't think it's worth getting. The only thing the game doesn't tell you is where are the feathers. ALL the rest is divulge by the map or the database.

I can't help but get excited. For everything I thought AC did wrong, I really loved the combat and world-traversal. Those things implemented in a good game could be spectacular.

I'll be picking this up in a few hours when I go into town to grab some groceries.

So one of the The Truth puzzles has some code hidden in several of the pictures.

It turns out that it is ASCII code in either decimal, hexadecimal, or binary. We decoded it and it read: "Antikythera mechanism, much older than 150 B.C.E." "Ancient City, Rajastan, India Irradiated by Poe." "Sumerian ME 23."

I like the game a lot, but ridiculous hidden codes is almost better. I just wish I could go back to the puzzles I've already solved to see if I missed any other code.

Is there a great breakdown between the 360 and PS3 versions? I really dont want another game for my 360, after Modern Warfare 2 and would love to get the PS3 version but only if its at least equal in quality.

I could be totally wrong, but I think this could be where the series goes.

The other Assassin's in present time will be the people you need to take down with Lucy being the final baddie

Wow, I screwed myself over.

I was doing the
gondola escort mission, and was doing fine until we got to the docks.
Thinking we were done, I decided it would be bad ass to
hop onto the gondola and join my allies.
Bad Idea.
They somehow flew off the gondola and died, and thus my mission ended in a failure :'(

I'm trying to decide. Will I be ok if I didn't play AC1? Or should I just read up on it. I'm really interested in this game just because it seems like they added so much and the premise of the first seemed so kick ass. Really though story isn't that big for me and what it comes down to is the first one worth playing? Leaning on skipping it and just saving my money.

edit: just remembered. The PS3 version was crap so that answers my own question.

You wouldn't have had problems anyways. There's a resume movie at the beginning of AC2 and it's all you need to know to understand the game really.

I'm just leafing through the instruction booklet as the game installs. I love the little notes to Lucy in there.

"Lucy - make sure to fix that annoying bug in the Animus 1.0 software which presents ancestors from swimming!"

LOW PROFILE: OFFENSIVE MODES
"Lucy - consider changing the title of this section for obvious reasons."

:lol

Its not a requirement, its got a few developer interviews, discusses the characters a bit more, lots of concept art, and its pretty well written as far as strategy guides go. Its a decent pick up if you are a fan of AC.

Jesus, I couldn't even begin to imagine what the mini-map would look like with all of the icons switched on.

*shudders*

A lot of devs hate supporting SD resolution because they always get gold master submission bugs from sony/ms about UI elements being hard to read in SD :lol :lol :lol

I'm playing on SDTV too... In fact, I've never played a game in hi-def.

Uplay won't let me download my damn final catacomb :/

"The Uplay server is not available at this time. Please try again later."

I personally found it kind of funny that a game with so many religious undertones uses BCE all over the place
Thats how we roll in Canada :D.

I'm not totally sure but I think we can assume there are many people of different faiths on the AC team so thats probably why BCE is used over BC.

The Uplay aspect is one of the weirdest things I've seen this gen. You get achievements for getting achievements so you can access a program from within the game (despite it not being a part of the game) so that you can unlock features of the game. It's a real "through the looking glass" moment.

So I'm about a whopping 10 minutes into AC: Bloodlines for the Pusp, kneejerk impressions; pretty game, atrocious sound quality (even with headphones), although despite the overall lackluster sound quality, the top-notch soundtrack remains intact :) The controls seem alright thus far, the camera will take some getting used to. When I get deeper into it I'll post my updated impressions later on for those who are curious.

So I'm about to follow Da Vinci to

About how far am I into the game, not counting all the side mission stuff?

Quite a bit left, unless you're super fast :\

I just got to my castle that seems to be a reskin of the Assassin's fortress from the first game, finished the tutorial there, and left for Tuscany. How far am I? I think I've been playing for like 4 hours. I've only done the first assassination if you can even call it that.
