Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing Transformed announced!
Thank you.

But Dreamcast owners will be particular thrilled to see Skies of Arcadia's Vyse, in a vehicle based on the Delphinus. Golden Axe's Gilius Thunderhead – who was originally planned for inclusion in the original – gets to ride a Ray Harryhausen-esque bronze creature that morphs into a turtle and an eagle. We're sworn to secrecy on the later stages, but suffice to say anyone who didn't think the first game was enough of a SEGA love-in is in for a treat. The fan service here is phenomenal, and the final unlockable in particular is one that will delight long-term Sega acolytes.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is coming to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation VIta, Nintendo 3DS and PC Digital Download sometime late in 2012.

FUCK YES.

Hit the water here, however, and you'll immediately notice tweaks to the handling – it's closer to something like Hydro Thunder Hurricane than a land-based arcade racer. And on the occasions you zoom above the track, there's a fully-fledged flight model, as you guide your now-winged vehicle through floating boost gates.
SWEEEEEEET!!!

Ha, funny. Other than Witcher 2, I've been playing the first pretty much all month.

I'm glad the handling was improved. The first has a kind of...glued to the track feel.

FUCK YES.

I am very happy about Vyse but predictable. Both characters was wanted to be in first game but I'm glad that they brought them over in Sequel. :)

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
More flying things, yay.

I hope it has a bit of DK Racing in it.

They need to refine the graphical style a bit too, tighten up the controls, and it'd be rad.

Edit: oh, screenshot. And EVERYONE is flying. DK Racing, yay!

I don't like the graphics style much again, it needs to be more cartoony...

This style makes it look like early CG, or like such characters superimposed on more realistically shaded environments.

Cel shading would be rad, including the realistic characters, like Ryo should be remade, not look like he's imported from Shenmue.

Oh! That reminds me, I wonder if console exclusive characters (or character) will be a thing again.

I remember reading the team wanted Mario for the Wii version, but I feel Captain Falcon works nicer simply because Sega worked an F-Zero game with Nintendo.

Makes me wonder if Banjo will be back, too.

Handling is still that same blend of Mario Kart and OutRun, but with a little more heft to it – perhaps down to the involvement of lead designer Gareth Wilson, who worked on Blur and Project Gotham Racing during his time at Bizarre Creations.
SOLD!

The two stages we played through were packed with shortcuts and alternative routes. A Panzer Dragoon-themed course naturally has you spending a fair bit of time in the air, while the Monkey Ball track allows you the choice of winding, narrow, barrier-free strips of track up above, or the wider stretches below that are slower but easier to negotiate.

:) AMAZING!

I want three things
-Story Mode....I dont care how dumb the story is
-Hubs
-A few extra months to spit shine the game...had a lot of minor issues

Those screens are amazing.

My biggest knock against the first game was level variety. Hopefully we'll get more totally unique tracks and not 3 Sonic ocean tracks that look a lot alike, 3 Sonic casino tracks that look a lot alike, etc.

Oh... I thought it would be like Diddy Kong Racing after I saw the first image. But now it looks like they just copied Mario Kart 7. Transforming from land to sea to air vehicles. Unless they don't transform and it's actually different courses and gameplay for each style, that'd be neat too, like getting 3 games in one. Hydro Thunder esque, Mario Kart esque, and um, the flying stuff. Win. Please.

I am fine with it copying Mario Kart. Mario Kart 7 is never coming to 360,PS3 or PC so I dont see it as that evil.

For PC owners, the first game is on sale for 8 bucks at gamersgate.com. I was thinking about picking it up, but I'm not so sure with this coming out now.

Kart 3DS might be my favorite Kart game ever and I got bored before I mastered any of the tracks. Hell I didn't even finish mirror mode. It finally happened I guess, I'm tired of the genre.

I really liked the first All-Stars Racing, maybe I'll get this on some sort of sale. If the PC version has online, runs well and I can convince a few friends to pick it up maybe sooner.
