Game Sack: The Youtube Retro Show Where Sega and Nintendo Fans Review Games

Shard

Right, I think this show might be known here, but maybe it isn't and that is why I have chosen to create a thread on this. Indeed, for those who don't know Game Sack is a retro review show where childhood friends Joe and Dave review games, often around a theme of some kind, and well why not let them explain the concept further via this handy channel trailer.

Great to see this get some love. Between the two of them, the amount of retro gaming knowledge stored is incredible. Love watching these every other week.

I started following their channel a few months ago and I love it. Very nice footage and nice knowledge of games. Their collections make me jealous.

I watch their videos all the time. I love the variety of games they talk about. It certainly makes me feel like a kid again.

Been watching them since someone posted the Sega Saturn episode in the Saturn appreciation thread. I really enjoy each bi-weekly episode.

I love the detailed look they did of the Sharp x6800 you posted. They dig pretty deep for obsylcure stuff and it's pretty comprehensive.

I fucking love this show and out of all the retro game related shows I watch, Gamesack is by far the one I look forward to the most. The show is just consistently good and well put together.

I love Game Sack for their sheer quality. The production values are insane. The stop-motion editing they occasionally do gets me grinning every god damn time.

I look forward to their videos constantly.

I subscribed to their channel a few months ago. I probably would have been close friends with them growing up. Enjoy their videos, lack of BS/gratuitous cursing, and their collection and knowledge is impressive. I also like Pete Dorr. Again, someone whose personality I connected with immediately.

Yup. Hands down, my favorite YouTube channel.

pretty much this - as a sega fan i adore Generation-16 but this one covers so much, i mean that x68000 ep in the OP has a ton of info many don't know. don't always agree with their opinions but they clearly put in a great effort to bring gems on original hardware, and it's hard not to learn about titles you missed on their console summary eps.

I really dig this show. I don't always watch just because sometimes I don't want to put in the full half-hour but I love YouTube shows that deliver on a niche well instead of trying to do everything and failing.

These guys aren't angry and they aren't funny in the sort of way people might expect on YouTube but the show is quality entertainment and I usually learn something new, to boot.

Game Sack is awesome. Joe and Dave have a every man sort of charm to them. It's funny/sad seeing new people shun them after like 10 minutes into an episode because they seem too stilted.

it's a great channel. It's also nice to see good shows that aren't all about being angry, or British snark with pictographs, or swearing all the time. It's just honest and solid.

Glad to see fellow Game Sack subscribers here. I don't like a lot of Retro games but they're so excited and knowledgeable about them that I can watch and be thoroughly entertained.

I really like the Nintendo/ Sega banter between the two guys. Reminds me of the console wars arguments from my childhood.

I do enjoy them but sometimes they can get a little to awkward for me. Like they're telling inside jokes that no one else but them get.

Seems like a cool series, and when they occasionally do stop-motion for things like disassembling the N64 it's super impressive. My only issue with it is that the dialogue between the two presenters sounds very scripted.

Absolutely love this show and have gotten a lot of my friends interested... gonna have some friends over to play games on Saturday and watch the SEGA-CD episode, since a few of them are huge fans of the system. I like how each episode has their own 'theme' tying everything together, but its really the system overviews (like the 3D0, X-68000) that stand out the most for me.

Game Sack is my favorite show on YouTube. As others have said the production value is extremely high and they steer clear from most annoying "youtube" tropes. It's the only retro show where the hosts know more than I do. I actually take notes time to time for new titles to try.

Been watching some retro shows lately but out of all them I think it was Game Sack with the most spoilers so I can't watch too much of their vids.

It's the only show on the 'tube I watch regularly. Anyone else noticed that Dave's sense of humor can be really scathing and offbeat sometimes? I think they should let that shine a little more.

Totally love these guys. Their vids are not only top quality, but usually just a lot of fun.

Extremely humbled to see Generation 16 mentioned alongside this show a couple times during the thread, too.

I love how long their videos are as well. The detail they go into is something rarely seen elsewhere, and the editing and camera work is really impressive. At the same time, they don't take it all too seriously, despite the professional presentation quality. I can't praise them enough.

Great episode about the Sega CD. I owned one and knew it had more than the commonly known FMV trainwrecks but even then I was largely ignorant on what a substantial library it had. Core certainly got a lot of mileage out of the hardware.

Joe is in the cinema biz so it's a given he places a high bar on the presentation.

These guys are cool and are fun to listen to. They have great radio voices, actually. Good to just put these guys on in the background and grind away at some game.

Watched the N64 one. Cool for nostalgia factor, I had straight up forgotten about a lot of those games. Wasn't a fan of the commentary, it was general to the point of being cloying to me, and I stopped paying attention once they bad mouthed Rush 2049.
