HDMI 2.1 spec released, resolution up to 10k, dynamic HDR, variable refresh rate

In a way I don't feel like I lost money due to buying a cheap LG 25 inch ultra wide monitor with dual hdmi 1.4 ports. This means HDMI 2.0 should reach $150 1080p ultra wide monitors around '22 at the latest. At that point my investment will have paid off.
This spec looks great but I doubt my I'll be able to keep with everything at full spec. Imagine a football game under this spec. I'm happy the tech advanced and grateful for the addition.

How realistic of a wait time before this is put in tvs, receivers and so forth?

I am pretty sure that 2018 televisions and receivers will support HDMI 2.1.
As far as I understand the certification process will be available in Q2-Q3 2018.

Put in tech is one thing. When content is available is something else. Going to be a real long wait for that seeing as 4k basically just started.

Right, because "Prototype" means its available in stores. But this does show promise for 2018 tvs.
I wouldnt count on that till 2019/20 and more like 2022 to be affordable.
