The Last Jedi is the cover of EW's Fall Movie Preview (light spoilers)

Depending on what Rian says tomorrow, we might finally be able to create a solid theory of Rey's family based on the leaks/credible rumors we do have. Exciting.

The location of the First Order's headquarters perhaps?

Possible. At the very least, a base or a star destroyer of some kind. I imagine the goal is something that could potentially provide a tactical advantage; which would go with the idea of Leia wanting to wait as the VA wants to attack (assuming that is in fact correct).

If anybody is looking for answers right now, this document has the likely one. But, of course, spoilers (round up of all rumors/leaks): https://docs.google.com/document/d/1d-tEqij3BxLxhgwpMbforichteTPTMoP8OTjDCKrZJc/edit

Not sure whether or not I want to read this...

Don't. Movie is 4 months away.

There's an in production thread over on Community side.

(which is probably where out-in-the-open links to google docs trying to cobble together a plot summary built out of spoilers should go)

Was getting caught part of your plan?
There's only one thing worth spoiling

and we already know the answer to it.

Oh, the Rey thing?

She's not a Skywalker. She's apparently a clone created by Darth Vader on Kamino based off of a powerful Jedi he killed prior to the start of the OT, whose family sigil actually became the basis for the Rebellion's logo. Unfortunately, almost entire project was a bust and the all of the clones were eradicated as part of Operation Cinder. But one was saved thanks to a sympathetic scientist who decided to leave her on Jakku where she could never be found, but implanted with false memories of a family to disorient her as well.

Rey also finds out her real name towards the end: Rey Marek.

I mean, why do you think her powers only got amplified on Starkiller Base?

I'll take that paycheck, Kathy.

If all this means Sam Witwer can be in an actual Star Wars movie, I'll take it.

Interesting that Leia sees Poe as her surrogate son. Are Poe's parents dead?

Unknown. It's possible though that Leia has known him since childhood - or otherwise picked him out early in his New Republic service - as his parents were associates of Luke. Their home on Yavin IV had a tree grown from the remnant of one that had been in the Jedi Temple, since they had helped Luke recover the pieces in general.

Edit: And evidently Shara did know Leia too. So yeah, the family has its connections.

Poe himself didn't seem to know Leia personally, though Leia certainly knew about him. He was originally a leader of Rapier Squadron in the NR Navy but got into an argument with his commanding officer after a run in with TIE Fighters attacking the freighter Yissina Zyde. Official NR policy was to avoid encounters with the FO but Poe wanted to take action. He ended up being secretly referred to Leia. The way their first meeting is written makes it seem like he hadn't met her before but was starstruck because of her accomplishments.

Leia is already grooming him for a leadership position in the PD comic though and they have a pretty good relationship.

...Oh right, the Poe Dameron comic. Sorry, not caught up on that, so hadn't factored it in. Thanks for the insight!

Complete speculation:

The Resistance is aware of a computer or a hard drive that has the location to an important First Order base/Snoke's hideout. But they can't access the information. So they send Finn and Rose to meet with "DJ," who, due to his history playing both sides, can possibly crack it for them. But Finn and Rose don't have enough money for him, so they must win it at the casino, where Rose turns out to be instrumental.

Finn: Credits are fine, right?
DJ: Credits are backed by the Republic, which just blew up, so no. You will have to find the money some other way... *looks towards the casino*

Kylo no longer looks all that menacing - not after he got his ass beat so badly last time. Yea, I know he got shot and was distraught about what he had done, but Rey was a rookie and she straight spanked him.

Kylo, despite being struck with emotional and physical trauma, picked her ass up and knocked her out on a tree in 3 seconds. The only reason she wasn't returned to Snoke is because Finn stepped in and gave her a chance.

I'd say it was pretty fair

I'm sure he'll do some nasty shit this film, like killing Snoke or Luke or something.

Who is in the merchandise leaks that everyone doesn't already know about yet though?

None of the toys have contained any real surprises.

..............BB-9E..............
is who I was thinking. Not a major character, admittedly, but surely something that gets revealed in more fanfare then 'suddenly in a toy'.
