LTTP: The Struts | Holy shit, did Freddie Mercury have a kid?

My parents raised me on bands like Queen, Aerosmith, and the Stones.

The kind of music that you chant at the top of your lungs with a sea of people packed into a stadium. That style of music has been missing from my life for so long.

Then I found this:

And this:

They have the vibes of all those bands, but with a hint of grunge thrown in. It's beautiful.

Why am I just hearing about this band now?

You've been holding out on me, UK-GAF. Their only album released in you back in 2014, but in 3 years I never once heard anything from them here in the states.

Great band, great voice. Saw them live last year at a festival and they were one of my highlights for the weekend.

While we're on the subject of great bands, great voices, have you heard of Foxy Shazam at all? While they're now split up, similar vibes to The Struts (not sure why this particular upload of the video has the dislikes it has). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Om_VWBua0_M

Hey, that's the guy from Mike Oldfield's Man on the Rocks!

(aka "the guy who sings Nuclear")

I always wondered where he came from. I knew he was in a band, but never bothered to check them out, even though I love his work on Oldfield's album.

I do enjoy Foxy Shazam, but only for that song Unstoppable. I'll have to dive into the rest of their library to see if I glanced over any others.

I'm seeing The Struts in St. Louis in September. I'm so fucking excited right now.

Oh yeah I remember these dudes, they did the theme for one of the NXT ppvs. I kinda like like the 80s-rock revivalist thing they've got going on.

I thought this dude was Foxy Shazam from Macklemore's Downtown at first. This is good thought, thanks for sharing.

Edit: I see I'm not the only one lol

Pretty solid arena rock melodies.

Not sure how much that sound really vibes with me these days (besides the classics, of course) but its solid stuff.

Oh yeeeeeeeeeah! Holy shit! I knew I recognized him from something.

Yeah, cool band with catchy songs. Singer has a great Mercury-esque raspy upper range. I almost saw them in concert last year, but ended up not making it. Hopefully, the opportunity arises again someday.
