Rockstar/Take 2 climb 2 places to claim No1 with ‘Grand Theft Auto V’.

This is the 10th time GTA V has made No1 on the All Formats Top 40, the last time being 23 weeks ago in week 31, 2016. GTA V joins a select band of 12 (now 13) titles that have at least 10 weeks at No1 on this chart – only 1 of these 12 was a Take 2 title and that record was set a long time ago (GTA Vice City on PS2 in 2002/2003 managed 10 weeks at No1). Activision’s ‘Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’ drops 1 place to No2 and EA’s ‘FIFA 17’ drops 1 place to No3. There’s really not much change in the rest of the Top 40, with EA’s ‘Battlefield 1’ still at No4 and Microsoft’s ‘Forza Horizon 3’ carries on at No5 thanks to retailer price promotion that kicked in last week.

Since it is a boring week, there isn't anything interesting to comment, fortunately next weeks (months) will be fun, I repost the UK 2016 yearly chart.

I really want everyone to know how much more Titanfall 2 sold than Nioh. It was a staggering amount.
Nintendo should pay R* port GTAV to switch, right?

You've got to wonder how well GTAV would actually do on a Nintendo system though.

I remember when Chinatown Wars was exclusive to DS for a hefty period of time, and it flopped like a mofo. I managed to pick it up for £10 brand new mere weeks after it came out.

Switch is more powerful than PS3/360, GTAV is a last-generation game

I find it interesting that a game that by the last official account has shipped an incredible 70 million copies only just now has its 10th week in the #1 spot.

We really need digital to be included in these charts now. But I assume it'll never happen, because the manufacturers and publishers don't need Charttrack to obtain that informaion.

Wow, Forza Horizon 3 being the second biggest seller this week. Amazing legs on this one.

Nintendo should pay R* port GTAV to switch, right?

Even if Nintendo were willing to pay, I'm not sure R* wouldn't rather put their energies into other projects, like RDR2 PC.

TLG way above dead rising :).

They have almost nothing in common besides both being exclusives on their respective console.

GTAV.... a game originally was released back in 2013.... now it's 2017 and yet it takes over the number 1 spot!!

A true legend :)

It's insane. I can't imagine another game will ever have legs like it.

Gears and Horizon holding well. The legs on Horizon though, retailer promotions or not the game is just constantly delivering.

Congrats Playground :)

It's a joke dude, based on a thread that got created about Fr being 1 spot above TLG a few weeks ago.

TLG doing alright on the individual format charts!
At least it hasn't disappeared into obscurity.

Also crazy to see Watch Dogs 2 at No.8 on software for 2016.
Glad to see that game doing well, I liked how Ubi delivered on that franchises promise after the first was so underwhelming.

It's a running joke from when both those games launched and DR4 outsold TLG.

I still haven't bought GTA5. Only one I haven't purchased. I still plan on getting it one day though. Sure there are plenty of people like me.

If neither Gravity Rush 2 or DQ8 grab that top spot, it'll be a disaster in terms of sales.

Can't see either doing it with el zilcho marketing though.

Why would Dragon Quest VIII have a notably better debut than Dragon Quest VII, Heroes and Builders? I would love the series did much better, but it is very niche, specially in the UK.

Horizon still got legs. I wonder how blizzard mountain is fairing. Im still yet to buy it as i need to complete the main game.

Man, we really are in the wasteland this time of year huh?

Really hope the Switch does well, would be nice to see some of the chart mixed up with Nintendo titles.

It's not so much about how powerful the console is, but whether the GTA brand can appeal to your average Nintendo system owner.

I think if Rockstar ever announces a GTAV port to switch it could sell a few million. Honestly having a portable GTAV would make many buy it and take it around.

Hyperbole.
Most reasonable people on Sales gaf don't expect GR2 to pull up any trees.

I expect it to do lower numbers than TLG for example, it's a seriously niche exclusive sequel from a dead platform.

That's not going to happen. Gravity Rush 2, sadly, is trending horribly. I doubt it'll break the top ten.

Gravity Rush 2 selling well? It's a Niche tittle it won't sell much, maybe Sony will bundle it someday.

Ni Oh has way better chance and Yakuza of putting good numbers.

Guys, it's not about them selling well, it's about everything else doing terribly due to nothing being out for weeks and old games being in the charts.

I am thinking single format here as well. And like I said, "Can't see either doing it with el zilcho marketing though."

Gravity Rush 2 would be lucky to even do "decently" in Japan.

The best it can hope in rest of the world is to not bomb too badly.

Those olllllllld games will outsell Gravity Rush 2.

If GR2 do 8k then it will TOP3 unless there is some big promotion that increase sales of some old games.

I hope it cross 10k that will probably holds number one in individual format.

And China. May even outsold Japan.
