Do women see extremely muscular men the same way men see anorexic women?

It's always hilarious when people post someone who isn't 'that muscular' and then you see a pic of someone who is totally ripped (just not flexing).

Or that anyone can easily look like Pitt in FC if he just has low bf...Riiiiiiight.

Dear god I love that woman's body. I would bust so hard in Alenka Biker.. so fucking hard...

Absolutely God-like body.

Look at what you wrote and then go sit in a corner contemplating how pathetic you are that you feel the need to post on the internet how you would 'bust a nut' over some picture.

I don't know why you're so grumpy, but I think you're the one who needs to sit in a corner and chill out for a few minutes... for real.

Or he could just nip off and have a wank while watching the lovely jiggly GIF.

That's what I'd do.

If a lot of men see anorexic women (or let's just say extremely thin women) as just plain unattractive, then yes, that is how I see overly muscular men.
I don't think there is inherently something wrong with them though (same for thin people, since there are some very thin people, both male and female, who are not anorexic). People like different things, plus I see nothing wrong with striving for a body you like and not somebody else.

I'd go for less muscle rather than more, and as far as looks go, unless the body is really extreme, the face will be the decisive factor.

If you can get to a point where your stomach doesn't extend over your belt, your chest isn't pointy and moob-y, and your arms and shoulders are firm and have a little bit of bulge, then your body is probably a non-issue in terms of stopping you from getting any given woman. Your face, your personality, your grooming, and your confidence(hot)/sense-of-entitlement(turn-off) ratio are probably bigger factors.
Pity the ugly.

Probably my biggest problems. My face may not even be the biggest issue. Though when I look around I simply find myself to have inferior looks to a huge portion the male populace out there.

Confidence is simply the biggest problem in my life. And there is no simple solution to fix the issue. I lack confidence because women have never shown a real interest in me which in turn leads to the fact that I’m 24 and highly inexperienced. Not a virgin mind you, but not a whole lot better experience wise. I can maintain a fake appearance of confidence for a while, but eventually the bubble snaps, and women instantly sense a lack of confidence. I’ve dated a wide variety of women the past 2-3 years, some of them very good looking. I’d say that at least 70-80% didn’t care to move beyond the first –second date with me due to the confidence issue. This in turn only puts a bigger dent in my confidence. It’s a never ending vicious circle.

As for getting muscular. I'm simply too lazy to give it a real shot. I'm blessed with a fantastic metabolism. So I can eat of lot less than ideal food, whilst still maintaining my weight of 72-75kg at 182cm. Ideally I would love to achieve the Ryan Gosling/Reynolds body type. Which I could probably easily acquire by maintaining a strict and balanced diet, as well as minimal exercise. I just don't have the discipline to do so.

On the topic of female track runners and their bodies...is this just genetic?

This blonde chick I knew from college was a triathelte. She had sponserships and everything. She was also a lifeguard. Road her bike to school and work (got her license suspended). Her body looked just like the gif you posted.

One day during our class break, she was saying how her shorts were still wet, and she took my hand planted it on her ass. I think I pre'd my pants. Too bad she ended up playing mind games with me. Never got with her. :(

I can't speak for every woman but those guys with the veins that really stick out - I find that a huge turnoff. I don't want to run my hands over someone's skin and feel their insides bulging out! Yuck! Most of the pictures posted in this thread show those kind of veins.

And that's pretty much all there is to it!

This is why you don't see many women in the weights area.

EDIT: Or on forums as well I guess.

You're ogling the woman in the picture.
And? What the hell does that have to do with women avoiding weight areas? Men ogle beautiful women in almost every situation.

Do women avoid jogging and going to the beach because guys are ogling? Because I can assure you that we are. That comment was just silly as all hell.

=/ ya just don't get it. I honestly don't know what to say.

I'd really suggest reading the Dating OT and the Fitness OT. I'm not going to go all out in trying to convince you, but if you get to the point where you want to give it a real shot, those threads (and maybe the OKCupid one) should be extremely helpful

I don't get this. Why the hell would I need to deadlift or squat 500 pounds? What functional purpose does it serve in my life? Unless I'm moving furniture or I'm an MMA fighter, I don't see the purpose. I work in retail, and I eventually want to work for the government. I don't think either of those positions require me to lift 500 pounds.

I'll take women complimenting on how amazing my body looks at a pool party than lifting 500 pounds(though I'm already decently strong).

Physique>strength

I have come to the same realization. I would like to bench at least 300 pounds, OHP about 200, squat/deadlift 400. I am not too far off with some and a long way to go on others but I think I may not hit those goals because I think I care more about being above average strong with a killer body more than hitting those numbers.

We all lift for certain reasons but I am prettysure impressing women is high on the list. I have lifted for myself up until this point and am very satisfied. Now it is about time to fine tune for the ladies.

Well please try and help me to get it. This is a forum for discussion after all.

People generally don't like being ogled, and people generally don't like strangers proclaiming "I'd like to bust a nut in that" while going about their daily business. Why the weights section in particular? Well, I guess since its generally a male dominated area anyway a lady in there is probably going to stick out. She's likely to be alone, and exercising puts her in a somewhat exposed position. I don't want people to watch me exercise, especially not in a sexual manner. If you want to ogle ladies go google some porn. Its not that hard.

Haha same. I'm lazy as fuck because no matter what I drink and eat I never put on weight. I'm like 170cm and 56kg, and never fluctuate. I'm not that worried about muscle, although I wouldn't mind it if my chest protruded a bit, but I wish I could be bothered exercising because I don't really feel 'healthy' as it were.

I don't really think I'm ugly as such, but I hang around with, I guess, a kind of hipster/jock hybrid group of mates, so I probably just look shit in comparison. At least three of my close friends could get almost any girl they wanted.

So this thread became what men think women like? I'd say it just depends on the woman. Some people have types. People includes women.

Hm, just scrolling down the last page my impression would be that its become the male equivalent of a "post hot women" thread, but then again this is literally the first time I've clicked into this thread. I just haven't had the energy for sex/gender threads lately.

Squats are fun, aren't they?

Yeah. Oh man after the first day though since I haven't done that stuff since highschool I was walking like an idiot for the next couple of days. Times since then have been fine. Been doing squats, rows, lat pulls, bicep curls, tricep curls and bench press.

Wait, why? Do men stop looking if you're with a "gym buddy"?

To be blunt if you're with a guy it sends a clear message to fuck off. I'm not trying to be mean but I'm not there to get looked at, which some people are and there's nothing wrong with that but I like nippin' shit in the bud.

Get the bf (you're still with him right?) to be your buddy. It's fun and motivating.

He'll probably balk at the price, but lets see if I can't convince him :p I'm awful at self motivating, but if I had someone to go with I can't really back out whenever I'm feeling lazy.

They might if the gym buddy is male.

But really, it makes it more fun and social. I guess I'd feel less self conscious if I was with someone else too.

EDIT: Good to have you back devo.

So I heard this somewhere once, it may be true, it may not, that an individual is attracted to someone somewhat opposite to their physique and features. For instance, my guy friend who is fair-skinned, red hair likes women who have darker hair and eyes and olive-y skin tone, like a Sicilian or hispanic woman. He is average height, so he typically likes shortish women. My boyfriend is six feet tall blonde hair, dark eyes with a swimmer's build while I am 5'2" dark hair with hazel eyes with a curvy body and olive skin. My female coworker is tall, thin, fair and with dyed blonde hair and she normally likes taller guys who are bulky and tanned to dark brown skin.

Now these may be just a few instances where this sort of thing is just a coincidence, but I often find that guys who are lighter complected and a medium build to be more attractive than someone who is bulky or barrel-shaped... but some women (who tend to have a slender frame like my sister-in-law, Maria) like that.

I've had clients stop going to the gym after making solid progress because they felt uncomfortable going alone. So, I'd work on pairing them up with others to try and make it a better experience.

There's not a lot I can do, as I'm not employed at a gym, but working with females who actually want to improve can require me to put them in a team (not that they can't/won't do it alone, but for the staring issue). Generally, I find that as long as a girl has a workout partner, male or female, they're less likely to be stared at. Having some random ass hole yell "drive the fucking bar up" helps, as well.

At the times we go I'd definitely not want to be there alone.

You'd have to do everything together, though, wouldn't you? Personally, I run different speeds on the track and separate from my friend to use the machines.

And despite that message, I'm certain there are guys still looking. Some people just don't care.

I have a really weird response to squats as far as DOMS. If I squat after a long break, I feel fine the next day. Then I feel somewhat sore the day after that, then I feel pretty sore a day later, then by day 4 I pretty much have to bend over and move my legs one by one with my arms. Then the soreness subsides in the same order it came in. Fortunately I never experience any DOMS following workouts after the first session. I feel sorry for people who experience DOMS after every workout.

Sounds like you have a good plan :)
