Wait, so did they bump up the unlock for GMG? Last I saw it was to be unlocked at 12:01 AM on the 24th, but now I don't see it on the game page. It unlocks sooner on Steam?
About 25 hours from now, I guess. Not as good as midnight tonight, but not as bad as midnight tomorrow. Steams listed date was throwing me off. :/
I bought two copies the day it came out. I was planning to buy two copies on the day THIS came out but they seem to have failed me. I'm in wait and see mode at the moment. I can't in good conscience support a garbage port.
I actually skipped buying it on preorder sales because I WANTED to pay full price to support From.

I have only seen maybe two reports of this being even remotely a case, while the 7 others I've read all say it ran smooth. But then again to some pc gamers 30fps, smooth or not, is broken and not well optimized.

If it comes from From themselves then I will get it sooner than later. I wont reward them for the community fixing their mess.
That doesn't make any sense to me. I don't know why you're trying to qualify your purchase with some kind of random criteria based on morals.

That's not the part that wasn't clear to me. I don't understand why it has to be an issue of "right or wrong", either play the game or don't.
I don't understand the purpose of trying to take some kind of moral high-ground and make a statement. It's a fucking video game, if it's good and you want to play it, play it, if you don't, don't.
But its not From's fault that they had to rush the port out, that was Namco's decision.
Where did he attach right or wrong to it?

Well, there are also standards, some people know that if this port sell well then this will pretty much tell them not to bother with good PC ports.
From his point of view:
From patching the game to fix launch mistakes: Right
Community releasing unofficial patch to fix From's mistakes: Wrong
If it's "right" he will buy the game, if it's "wrong" he will not buy the game.

I sometimes wonder if Namco has a lot more to do with Dark Souls existing than we are led to believe. I so wish Atlus was responsible as well.
From Software does not give a shit if LiquidMetal14 buys the game.
Attaching stipulations to your purchase criteria to try to make a statement is patently ridiculous when your opinion is in the extreme minority.

He said he would buy the game if From patches it, but not if the community patches it.
Am I the only one who's reading? He's specifically stating that even if the community releases a patch that fixes the experience, he won't buy it in order to try to make some kind of statement to From Software, as if they give a shit.

This doesn't mean anything. The framebuffer is set at 1024x720.

It's going to render it as a low resolution and stretch it to whatever resolution you pick.
Who's to say that the quality is affecting sales?
It's currently the second best selling game on all of Steam right now, in between CS: GO and Arma II.
I'd say they're probably going to make a huge profit off of this, especially with the relatively minimal financial investment.
He said he wouldn't support them doing bad work that is fixed by someone else. Where did he say anything like, "Let's send a message!" Did I miss it?
PC gamers don't buy shitty ports.... Except for this one.

Geez, what do you want from him? It's his choice, not like he's telling others to do that.
Because if he didn't attach any strange stipulations to the purchase he would just buy the game if the community patch provided the reasonable experience he is looking for?
It's his money, he can do whatever he wants with it, nobody can tell him otherwise. I just think it's incredibly strange to place arbitrary stipulations on the criteria for the purchase of a title.
You might as well use monitor or graphics card upscaling since it won't matter.
