This reminds me I still haven't played any of the DLC. Is it as good as the main game? You get to play as the female detective, right?
DLC, like the main game, is decisive. I quite enjoyed it though. Know there's three pieces of DLC, one two-part campaign starring Kidman and one Arcade-like mode where you play as Boxman aka the Executioner
The DLC campaign is almost entirely stealth based, you go through most of it without a gun. However, there's been huge improvements to the stealth system, and there's a bigger focus also on atmosphere, puzzles, exploration, etc. Like the main game it's very varied, and the DLC even includes new locations, new enemies, etc. The three things that stand out about the DLC is the story, the boss battles, and the atmosphere. The DLC is FAR scarier than the main game by a pretty large margin even. One thing that helps is one of the new enemies, the "Light Lady" is way scarier than she has any right to be. The story basically is the story the main game should've had, it explains the story much better in much more interesting detail. Also the characterization for Kidman is much better in the DLC, I didn't like her in the main game but liked her in the DLC. Rubik I found to be a punkass bitch in the main game, but in the DLC he's actually seems sinister. Also there's a new villain in the DLC that wasn't in the main game I won't spoil, but he's a WAY better villain than Ruvik ever was in my opinion, and while the final fight with him is kind of easy it's also extremely well done in my opinion.
The boss battles are the most surprising thing, despite being mostly combat-less, the battles require you to be more clever and make really tense scenarios. Between the two DLC campaigns there's about five boss battles, and all of them are memorable. Like the main game, not all liked the DLC. Some really missed the gunplay and hated the stealth focus as an example, but it also certainly has its fans.
The last DLC, the one with Boxman, has some story but is a bit light, more of an expansion on things. However it's a really fun 'Arcade' take on TEW, you play in first-person and get the ability to pick-up and throw enemies, use various weapons (and get more as you defeat bosses and collect their weapons, such as a chainsaw, rocket launcher, etc.), and is basically a boss rush. You're in the Manor from Chapter 9 of TEW and need to unlock areas that lead to gates where you fight bosses. Collect upgrade points to upgrade your stats. It's a pretty fun 1-2 hour experience with some hidden secrets and battles.
