is the history mode as grindy as the adventure maps were? I didn't mind playing a ton of HW, but I hated having to do bullshit fights just to get a compass so I could progress on the map.
Is it better this time?

Awesome, thanks for the reply!tl;dr: Archers suck. Rest range from fine to really fun for me.
Do it.My CE is arriving from Amazon on Friday and I'll probably put my backup Gamestop preorder amount towards the DLC pass...but I'm oddly itching to pick up the 3DS version on Friday as well.
Someone please talk me out of this, especially with Mario Odyssey next week...
No grinding for unit-restricted battles necessary. Heard that was a bit of an issue with Hyrule Warriors.

For fuck's sake, no one is giving a damn about stability anymore. Can't remember a single game that I played in the last months that didn't crash.
Does anyone know what time the eshop will update with the game available for download? I realized Nintendo doesn't let you pre download, and I want to have it ready to play on Friday. I'm hoping for 12 eastern time, but I'm afraid that's wishful thinking.
Is there a review thread?
Do we know if there are enemies other than humans in the game? Like monsters and creatures?
manakete and some beastkind monster that attacks with claw. I forgot what's their name
Alright, thanks! But no undead or dragons or such?

Manaketes are dragons.
manakete is dragon (they always in dragon form anyway). don't think there's risen, but if it is in, I might miss it since they can just palette/icon swap the enemies and pretend it is them
Mine is showing as preparing to ship. Amazon might actually not be late to get me a game on release date for a change.I know for a fact mine isn't shipping till tomorrow, since I live close to one of Amazon's warehouses, but has anybody's actually shipped/prepared to ship?

Thanks for the responses, guys. Had to talk to a few reps but I eventually got the situation fixed. Will be getting it on Friday as planned.
Excited to finally dip my toes into a Musou game!
My experience is to wait for the release date to be announced before pre-ordering for the reasons you mentioned. How did they fix it? I decided to call up too, the rep was nice but she didn't have a clue what was going on. Though she helped me figure out that the version I ordered didn't exist anymore.
It seems this happens when old preorder items have two editions and they update based on that, they just kill off the old product listing and I guess they have a botchy method to transfer over early preorders. This happened with my Monster Hunter World order too but I caught it earlier.
Anyone else have any issues with this?
The base game Hyrule warriors wasn't too bad. It was when they raised the level cap with each successive dlc, ending up with the final limit at 255 that it got out of control.
Out of curiosity is there an equivalent to the heart containers and weapon upgrades from Hyrule Warriors in this? I loved the way they forced you to get good with every character in the game.
From past musou experience, there should be separation between coop and single player mode in the missions you playJust out of curiosity, is the COOP-MODE played through the original story campaign or is a separate mode with random missions? Thanks

I assume it's like Hyrule Warriors for the History mode to get S rank, 1000 K.O., less than 10 mins. Just did a fight with 800 and got A.
Pretty sure it's 2000 KO's.
Your allies kills are counted in the total. Pause the game to check the total K.O's.I did notice my K.O. at the end of a stage and at the victory screen isn't the same.
First stage I was at 1150 and got S, but the victory screen showed 2xxx KO.
