Since we got a bunch of ME fans here, is there any way to get Mass Effect on the PC without any type of activation? That's the one thing stopping me.

Default female Shepard should have had a special face like default male Shepard. Not a creation from the in-game face customizer.

i managed to make a pretty good looking one. took some work.

My female Shepard came out really good... VA really fit her. It's weird seeing pictures of the generic male Shepard on commercials and such because that is just not the Mass Effect I know.

I tried to make a male adept... thought it was funny the name was Shepard so I tried to make Jack from Lost, but it's fucking impossible. And even if I was able to get it right the VA is so bland for the guy character...

That's my Shepard... but her hair was black. It's like exactly the same otherwise.

Didn't save the settings though. :/

If you don't have broadband, it's a certified nightmare. *raises hand*

Not to mention I refuse to deal with almost all activation-required software, it's a personal issue here, I don't mind it in the case of consoles, but "portal" software is a big ugly to me i'll never accept on PC's.

Bummer. Girlfriend and I spent half an hour working on an Infiltrator this morning and all we had to show was a bug-eyed imp.

Oh well, with reference, I'll have a go at it again.

She matches the VA so well... I couldn't imagine playing ME any other way. I see the default guy and I'm like gtfo.

It creates a boatload of issues and is, simply put, a pain not worth dealing with. I'm sure it's improved since I've used it, but it won't change my feelings on the issue of activation/portal software on PC's. Only 2 games I ever bought that had such a feature were Half-Life 2 and Two Worlds (nobody said it required activation!). And unfortunately for me, this is one kind of game I can't play with gamepads. :(

I've always figured if you're going to be looking at an ass for 25+ hours... I'd rather it not be some dude's. Good VA was a nice bonus though.

My male Shepard is just the default model. Best looking one, IMO.

Nearly every chick ever made in this game has the same hair, mine and my roommate's included.

I'd say Bioware needs to work on more palatable hair choices before anything else. :(

her nose/brow aren't perfect and look bad at certain angles, but my first shepard will always have a soft spot in my heart.
