But that's how online focused games work?

It's not like I can just boot up the likes of Destiny and play the campaign offline.

Any pics of the wet track Eurogamer is talking about?

When PD will patch in weather and day-night cycle this game ( the beta already was fantastic ) will be downright amazing!

Around half the tracks in Gran Turismo Sport's track list are fictional - initially something of a disappointment, but Polyphony's much better at circuit design than Hermann Tilke, and the likes of Dragon Trail and Lake Maggiore are a treat. Wet weather makes a brief cameo here - it's due in fuller form later on, though that's a Polyphony promise, so take it with a pinch of salt.

The GameSpot piece from Peter Brown is something I expect more reviews to get into. I just have zero interest in the kind of game they have built here. Doesn't matter how good it looks or how good the driving is.

Gran Turismo games are always little offbeat, but bewildering trysts with non-racing subjects in GT Sport feel like misguided attempts to create the country club of racing games. It's amusing at first when the game's menu backdrop fades from an interesting event in racing history to, say, the date that Celine Dion won her first grammy, or the discovery of the neutrino, but over time these flourishes start to leave a bad taste in your mouth as you discover how little racing content there is to explore--even when servers are up and running. Don't get me started on the inclusion of fashion label (and GT Sport sponsor) Tag Heuer next to car manufacturers in "Brand Central," the place you go to buy cars and explore the history behind them. Seeing a watchmaker get the same treatment as a car designer in a racing game isn't harmful, but it makes you question where its priorities lie.

I know there isn't much to review.. but to focus on this instead of the Arcade mode he was able to play offline.. damn..

I have zero interest in Bloodborne. Doesn't mean other people who do don't have the right to know what's good or bad about what they've actually produced.

I don't get what your point is.

Mine is that they have built something for people that I am not sure large portions of their audience are. I know I'm not that person.

My point is that you can't just ignore the gameplay and visuals being good because you don't like some of the design choices being made. Plenty of people who do like GT obviously are into what they've made here, given that the negative reviews seem to be the outliers.

Problem is I can find other good looking games that drive well and have a better game built around it.

Off to a good start, been saying it for a while but it looks like it will review better than a lot expected it too. The demo was excellent though, so it really isn't too surprising.

Can't say I'm no disappointed that we've waited this long for a current generation GT and it's online focused with little to no campaign.

Good start. Can't really go wrong with picking this up, a solid investment for a long time to come. Poly always support and improve their games well over the years, rather then the pump-and-dump you see from other titles. GT5 and 6 really evolved over time. I feel like they were only ever really held back by poor engine sounds and strange UI/multiplayer decisions which have largely been rectified and streamlined.

I wish PD have announce their dlc road map or schedule similar to how Driveclub does it. It will help lessen the lack of content problem imo.

I will bet my account an 80/100 won't be the minimum score on metacritic.

Not sure I appreciate all of the comparisons to Forza. They're the top two racing games out there, sure, but it's not like PS4 owners can go get Forza instead.

Yup, GT3 is 95, with a lot of perfect scores, i don't see GTSport getting a lot of perfect scores, maybe 1 or 2.
