I haven't played Fates in a while, but isn't Conquest's support interactions or story built more around FemCorrin?
FE Mobile is coming out very soon most likely, so they need to announce it sometime.

What Fates DLC is still missing in North America? I tried looking it up online, but it seemed to me like everything had been localized except for maybe a couple (by which I actually mean two) smaller maps?

In that case, that seems pretty unlikely that they'd suddenly release that in early 2017. Kind of missed a good window of opportunity...haha.

Of course it makes no sense as they would not even have a Direct if that's all they're saying.
She's the only one I've played as, so I couldn't make the comparison, myself.

It says direct in the source code "fire emblem Revelations for switch" web guys could have just been a bit eager getting the code sorted. Could still be legit.

If it is legitimate I would assume the error lies not in the link but in the fact that the alt text was available to end users too early. However, I have played through the LE, including Revelations, so I don't care about ports.

Fire Emblems 3DS iterations are probably the few games I immediately think of when "this would look so much better in HD" the sprite work is beautiful but when it transitions to 3D everything is so blurry and muddy.
But wouldn't the opposite be true in HD? The sprites will look blurry and upscaled, while the 3D will be sharp and clean.

It's not a leak, it's just a text error. Unless you think that Pokemon Moon with bonus Lunala figure is also headed to Switch.

I'd play a port for Fates/Awakening again. I mean I imagine the direct will be most about FE Warriors or whatever they're calling it but I wouldn't be surprised if they showed off some characters from those games and then said "We were glad to see the fan reaction to our two most recent Fire Emblem adventure on the Nintendo 3DS, and we hope you'll be excited to dive back into these worlds with the Fire Emblem Collection." I don't think it would have every FE (that'd be probably a little much to drop right now) but like the 3ds games, or even just Fates all on one cart like the Special Edition. Either way I'd buy it. Or they say they use amiibo and the Corrin amiibo gets an actual date/window.

Yeah! A powerful impactful and original story would shake things up as well, he haven't had that since Tellius! Oh and solid gameplay systems that don't rely on rout maps or turtling, we haven't had that since the Tellius games either! Oh and deep and robust characters not just based off jokes or one note archetypes, we've had like 5 of those since tellius(one less if you count the destruction of Henry via localization)! Wow, it seems like none of the things that make FE good have been present since Radiant Dawn... Except waifus, the waifus are still pretty great!

I don't think an FE direct is the place to announce a Corrin amiibo, since it's primarily for Smash, and we're waiting on Cloud and Bayo too.
It'd be interesting if FE Warriors had its own amiibo line, though. Especially since the build quality has increased dramatically over time.

In Japan, female Corrin was the most popular female character in the official poll, while male Corrin was only the 5th most popular male behind the Nohr siblings, Takumi and Jacob. There isn't an official poll for other territories though.
Conquest's Japanese marketing used female Corrin, but most of the general marketing, like for DLC, used male Corrin. As far as the writing goes, Conquest Corrin is more passive and there's less focus on Azura compared to the other routes, but nothing directly suggests that the player is supposed to go with female Corrin.
It could be a good place if they announce support for the Amiibo on par with Codename STEAM or FE Fates - making them playable characters in some game. That seems unlikely though, since they should be playable by default in Warriors, and any other game would be odd.

It's like 37 hours from now.
Why would the artwork be blurry and muddy when they have the original resolution source artwork still available; with no need to rely on upscaled versions of the compressed 3DS art? The map sprites might present a problem; but as they're intentionally kept quite small and simple they'd probably be okay unless they went crazy with filtering and blurring.

Okay so 7AM Japan it is. I'm bad with timezones when Americans make up stupid rules.
Canada has it too. It can be awkward, but "we don't want the sun to set at 4pm" isn't a stupid rule though. Living in Japan is like being in a vault during winter, if you're working you never see the sun. Even in summer, who wants sunrise at 4am? That benefits nobody.

Next to FE Mobile and FE Warriors I do expect a 3DS port to Switch. Or at least some VC titles close to launch.
Fire Emblem is one of those titles which work really well on the go and on the TV. And I would definitely get the Switch version of, say, Fates, since I've skipped it on the 3DS.

How is this a US only direct? This better be about Switch only, because if anything in this Direct is not region-free and importable, tables will be flipped.

Back when the WiiU was the new thing some people were suggesting a "Tellius Saga" port/remaster with FE 9&10.
It's a bit unlikely since they'd probably go for a Fates port, but I'd be down for it.
Never got too far into 9 but I loved 10, even if it was a bit too hard on the player sometimes.
