For months I had tried accesing MI6.co.uk, but it redirected me to CommanderBond.com, so I thought they relaunched or fusioned with another site. Now I see they just got a new URL. Anyone knows what the reason was behind this?

It was a weird turn of events. Without any notice, MI6 changed overnight from the MI6 of old into a shitty social networking MI6 site, and the old link redirected as you mentioned. Seemingly seeing the colossal fuck up of their decision, the old MI6 site was restored like a week later, at the new address, back to business at usual.

This all happened about 4 months ago.

Sorry, I should have said all of them come from former British colonies still in the Commonwealth or European. Point being, not American.

Terence Young - British
Guy Hamilton - French
Lewis Gilbert - British
Peter Hunt - British
John Glen - British
Martin Campbell - Kiwi
Roger Spottiswoode - Canadian
Michael Apted - British
Lee Tamahori - Kiwi
Marc Forster - Swiss
Sam Mendes - British

My Bond film will have Mounties, bacon and beaver tales. Bond will sleep with a French-Canadian who once starred on a kids show with scary puppets.

Apparently a bunch of German outlets are reporting that Sony has confirmed Bardem for Bond 23. Pretty unlikely that Germany would break that news, however.

Carte Blanche could be the title, BC reports.

Matches up with the train sequence we know is shooting, from the book synopsis:

[Bond] starts his assignment on the outskirts of Novi Sad in Serbia where an Irish sapper-turned-enforcer named Niall Dunne is planning to derail a train carrying three hundred kilograms of methyl isocyanate, dumping it into the Danube. Bond is able to prevent the catastrophe by derailing the train himself at a much safer place along the line. He is unable to detain Dunne, who kills Bond’s Serbian contacts in the course of his escape.

The fans on CommanderBond seems to say, that it's just a badly made up story. They don't believe the title will be Carte Blanche, and there's no resemblance to the book at all - but there were no resemblance between the movie and the book of Quantum of Solace either.

Yeah, my BS detector is going off on this one.

My money is still on Risico for the title. Just the title, though, since the general plot of Risico has been used already.

Not sure how reliable this source is, so take with a grain of salt, but we might have the artist who will be performing the opening number.

Mihailovic will join the list of music acts who have contributed to the unavoidable opening song for a 007 agent film, such as Paul McCartney, Madonna, Alicia Keys, Tina Turner, Sheryl Crow, Duran Duran and the rest.

As it often helps with major career breaks such as this one, Jelena was in the right place at the right time.

At one of the many concerts the musician held in France during the Cannes Film Festival, the producers and the director of the next Bond film were in the audience, who were staggered by what they had heard and on the spot offered Jelena a chance to write the opening score for the new James Bond film, entitled Carte Blanche.

What were the issues with India?

More updates:
- stunt sequence ON TOP of a train has been approved and will be shot in India
- another location has been revealed - Bond is going back to Istanbul!
- apparently John Logan's script contains the "big hook" that EON loved from Peter Morgan's scriptment before he left the project

Damn, everything is sounding GREAT so far.

I don't think this is that big of a deal. We're used to new Felixes and while Jeffrey did a good job, it was nothing that can't be easily replaced.

More Felix Leiters (7 so far!) than James Bonds! Heh. It's one tradition I enjoy:

felix - 'HEY JAMES, IT'S ME, FELIX!'

(bond recognises this guy even though he looks nothing like the felix he saw in the last film)

bond - 'HI FELIX, WOW IVE KNOWN YOU MY WHOLE WORKING LIFE LOL'

David Hedison is still my fave. Pretty bad in Live and Let Die (that phone scene in new york - what the fuck was that?), but he was awesome in Licence to Kill.

That's fine. Felix works better for me when he pops up every few films anyways. Although I am slightly worried that Felix is being shelved in order to roll Moneypenny and Q back out.

Moneypenny should have a street caribbean accent like Harris had in Miami Vice lawwl.

That would be strange but I'd dig it. Anyways the train sequence should be pretty awesome.

Are you worried that Bond 23 is going to turn into the Bond of old with goofy gadgets and silly puns?

Also, you should update the OP with all of the news and or rumors. ;)

Yes !! Can't wait for Q and MP! Now it will be a "real" Bond movie :)

Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.
Trains? So they're copying Uncharted 2, eh? *trollface.jpg*

No, but seriously: I want Craig naked while fighting his way through that train. Casino Royal was such a cocktease.

I don't think we have to fear that (camp/one liners/over the top gadgetry) during the Craig tenure (although all bets are off when the next Bond is cast), but I do fear that if they bring Moneypenny and Q in, even if the characters are grounded to fall in line with the characters in Craig's films, that the old feeling of a formula may begin to creep back in.

It's a big deal when it's Jefferey Wright that's not going to be in the film, dude's an OG.

The next Felix Leiter should be a woman.

When I was in HS (84-ish) we joked about making a Bond parody (VHS Videocams, LOL) and Felix would be somebody different in every scene, ending with Bond in bad with some unnamed woman, until he gets up and says something like "That was great, Felix."

The next Felix Leiter should be a cat.

Or, failing that, a bear. Just like 'GENTLE BEN' - and yes, just like that scene in the simpsons.

News:

- Bond 23 has been titled...not being revealed yet
- Craig starts his pre-production training next week

Fuck. Yeah.

Probably false, as usual.

Twitch is usually spot on with their scoops. They've called Josh Brolin in Oldboy, Christian Bale in new Terrence Malick movie, Russell Brand and Hough in Diablo Cody's directorial debut, Hughes doing Motor City, Ryan Gosling in Only God Forgives, etc.

Is Olga Kurylenko going to be in this next Bond film?

In 22 films, no female lead has ever returned. Hell, the only females who have returned period are recurring supporting characters M and Moneypenny, plus Sylvia Trench. And Maud Adams came back, but in a different role.
