Maturity, bitches.
I suppose they're appropriate, but to end with a bunch of swap doodle stickers is a bit of a damp squib. Should have been bunny launch icons at least.

Europe:

The badge set being released on 23/06 will be the last one!
Don't worry, the store won't be closing!
There just won't be any new updates.
You'll still be able to play here and your badges won't vanish either!
You'll also still be able to check out different catchers daily.
Some of the rarer catchers will be popping up more frequently!
There's one other thing that'll be changing too...
Some of the staff here will be moving on to bigger and better things!
It's not because of all the rambling or the bad jokes, honest!
You''ll still see the same old regular faces, but they won't say anything new!
I'm also sorry to say, we won't be selecting any new Miiverse posts.
We've seen some really creative designs though since we started!
So from this week we'll be showcasing previous posts daily!
It might just stop feeling quite as fresh around here as it usually does...

Whoa just randomly booted up for the first time in months and got the ending message :'(

I don't care much for the badges themselves or my collection but I'll definitely miss Bunny's dialogue.
Hopefully we'll see them on Switch one day, if only on a menu theme once they're available.

Notification for the US hit as well:

Hi there!

First off, I have big news!
Next week will mark the release of our 8,800 badge in the Nintendo Badge Arcade!
Isn't that exciting?
There is some bad news though...it seems we are running out of space...

In other words, we won't be making any more new badges for the Arcade. My boss decided that 6/22 will be when we release our last new set of badges!

Since I won't have any new badges to talk about, my duties are slightly changing in the Arcade! I will still greet everyone at the door, but I may be a little to busy to stay & chat!

I just read the notification about Badge Arcade no longer getting updates. It had a good run. I feel like everyone already got what they wanted from the Badge Arcade. It was a fun way to personalize your home screen and Baito was full of charm.

I hope the Switch gets its own version of the Badge Arcade(and also themes too). I would love to have a Metroid Prime theme and badges on the Switch.

Almost. I only really wanted Rhythm Heaven badges and then some stuff to label folders, and I didn't quite get there. I have a folder with SEGA games in it and there was never quite an appropriate badge. I was hoping one day for a Genesis/MegaDrive badge or a SEGA logo, or something. I know it was asking a lot, but those two companies are in each others pockets these days so I figured there was always a chance if it just kept going!

The SNES/GB badges were perfect for those folders, and my Pushmo folder has a great badge too, so there's just this one gap =(

Is that a hinto at Baito for Switch? Possibly?

Did all the badges from JP make it west?

Out of interest, what's the final count for badges in each region?

Someone on the Badge Arcade subreddit mentioned there are 8800 bades in NA. The JP version has 10,000+.

Games Tuthinoko goes through his entire collection (~9500) here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xL0ZJnW0cQ0

And apparently the JP version now gives out 2 free plays a day. I would've preferred it if they just gave 20 plays for a dollar or something, but I guess with the bonus plays you might be able to finish a panel for free.

He better continue, because those of us who hit the max level got a secret passphrase to share with him one day...

Today's update/manuscript of the final update:

Today's the day! After a year & a half, I'm moving on from my post!
Oh? You haven't heard the news about the arcade?
It's a long story, but...this week is the last week for new badges!
After releasing over 8,000 badges, we're out of new badges to release!
Moving forward, we will cycle all of our previously released badges!

With the lack of new badges, my job is slightly changing here, too!
This means I will no longer select posts for the Miiverse Gallery! Sorry...
Today is actually my last day in this post, so let's go all out!
The truth is, I'm not the only one who works here in the Arcade!
There are a bunch of other great staff members who keep us afloat!
Allow me to introduce you to some of our great staff & what they do!
Think of it as a "behind the scenes" of the Nintendo Badge Arcade!

First off, we have the Producer! He comes up with game concepts! [Producer: Koichi Kawamoto]
Like how this game is free to start, but additional plays can be purchased.

Next up, the Director! He designed the game, based on the concept! [Director: Shohei Mizutani]
He invented the Badge Catcher! Without him, we'd be nothing!
The Director also played the important role of overseeing all the other staff!
To explain the next few jobs, I will relate them to a construction crew!

There are the Programmers! They're kinda like carpenters!
They made all sorts of mechanisms in the framework here in the Arcade!
Things like the connectivity to Miiverse & to the network!
They are the ones who made it possible for me to talk to you!

Next up are the Graphic Designers! They're like our interior designers!
All the decor in the Arcade, like the collection statues, are their works!
They worked to make the Arcade bright, fun, & inviting!
They also created all of our badges, yup, over 8,800 of 'em! Crazy!
They've been busy making 'em for the last year & a half! Thank you!
They made things like the Pixel Collection & Ashley badges!

Next we have the Game Designers! They handle the balance of the game!
Working with the Programmers, they work to create each badge catcher!
There were some pretty interesting ones, weren't there?

Next up are the Sound Designers! This one's pretty easy to understand!
They made the lovely music & sounds you hear in the Arcade!

Our QA Testers are up next! They ensure everything is in working order!
They also make sure you can actually win badges in the catchers!
The dozens of testers at Mario Club Co., Ltd. helped a ton!

We also have some people we would like to express our Special Thanks to!
Some of them worked to make decorating a HOME Menu possible!
Access Games INC. helped out loads with making badges & catchers!

Next up is the General Producer & the Executive Producer!
They gave the OK to open up the Arcade!

Alright, now we have the Operators & Coordinators!
They make sure everything's in place to release new badges every week!
Deciding which catchers to bring back, communicating with testers...
Researching artwork to use for badges, setting up collaborations...
They really do all sorts! All planned out perfectly, just like the boss!

The Boss out what's released when: new collabs, seasonal badges, etc.
Huge thanks to all the designers who helped us out! We were demanding!
& thanks to the boss for doing the final floor checks each week!

So! We have one more staff member left! Who do you think it could be!?
But of course! It's the Arcade's very own Arcade Bunny!
There are some great people who allow me to do my best out here!

Let's see...there is the Character Designer who made me who I am!
This pink, energetic, & charming character is all their handiwork!
Apparently in my early designs I was yellow! How different is that?!

Next up are the 3D Animators & Effect Designers!!
They let me do things like...this, bro! [buff bunny animation]
They allow me to change into all sorts of different forms! They rock!
By the way, the way my voice was recorded is super-secret!

Next up are our 2D Designers! They play a big part in my presentation!
All of the lovely images you see whilst I chat here are their works!
They make great works...kinda like this masterpiece...heh...[image of child's drawing of board game]
On an added note, they also do the images you receive in our newsletters!

My Choreographers are up next! They choose how I act out my scripts!
From my transformations to my great smile, they animate each line!

>These choices, too?
>There are scripts?

[These choices, too?] Oh, Those? That mechanism was implemented by our Programmers!

Lastly, we have my Writers! They give me my charm & wit!
All of this brilliant text written was by these wonderful, handsome guys!
I heard that they even had to work during their vacations...
Because this is my last day on the job, I will answer your very real concerns.

>No concerns here.
>What's next for you?
>What's this real thing?
>Are you your boss?

[What's next for you?] Well...you see...that hasn't been decided yet...so...I dunno?
I guess you could say, I will have a real good time in my retirement...
.....
Sorry, that was a terrible joke. In reality, I will be sticking around here.

I know it was a bit long-winded, but thanks for chatting with me today!
I wanted to make sure that the staff got some recognition! All of them!
The staff has changed over time, so that's why the list seemed long!
I admit talking every week about new badges was sometimes hectic...
But I have all of you to thank for keeping me coming here! You rock!
On behalf of myself & the staff, I wanted to thank you all for playing!

That aside, let's get to our last new badges, shall we?!

[talk of new badges]
Also starting next Thursday, there'll be two free plays every day.

Boss Doggie

all my loli wolf companions are so moe

This was a great little diversion and Im bummed to see it come to an end...it's one of the very few F2P games Ive actually spent a few bucks on.

Really hope something like this comes to the Switch.

Sad to see this come to an end, but I enjoyed it while it lasted.

Hopefully they'll start up a Switch version, preferably with a badge import option from the 3DS version.

Kinda sucks it's over and we never got Super Metroid badges, just hideous NES badges.

Also sucks that the last week of new badges is more Pokemon, jesus.

2 free plays a day is nice, though.

Thanks for the info - that gives me some hope!

Did we ever get all the JP only badges?

On a separate note, I am probably the last to learn this, but "baito" is the Japanese word for "part-timer."

We didn't. They got over 10K, we got 8,800.

and i got almost 7K

:O

You were dedicated! I think we got a few hundred or so but we fell off the badgewagon a while back due to limited time, and almost never bought plays. That's really impressive though! And thanks for the info regarding JP-only badges, that is really unfortunate.

I'm disappointed that the pixel series didn't include the NES or SNES at any point. They would have been relatively easy additions or a couple of cranes.

We didn't even get all the badges that wern't JP only. Boxboy is still missing one set compared to it's JP counterpart.

I have 8,755 badges. Is this every badge that's been released in the US? I thought I never missed a day, but I guess I must have once or twice. :/

Are you sure that you aren't actually el ballena*?

I am generally very frugal when it comes to F2P games, but I have spent A LOT of money in the Nintendo Badge arcade.

I think it comes from actually growing up in an arcade on the Jersey Shore in the 80's. I could not resist!

Man I was actually a bit bummed when I booted up the arcade today and saw it was ending, especially since I hardly ever pop in this thread and had no idea it was announced prior. I've been playing it everday, both for free play attempts and spending a dollar if there was a set I liked. Gonna be sad for the routine to start fizzing out for me but the free plays each day is nice.

Sad to see it 'finish'. I'm one who has loaded it up every day to play, I only ended up with 1,600ish badges but still pretty happy with that.

Sure the endless Pokemon, Splatoon and Kirby etc weeks got a bit tiresome at times - but there were still some really nice other ones I like a lot! And it was all just a bit of fun.

I'd gladly continue it on Switch. Come on Nintendo, that thing is so barebones 'bonus/basic features' wise it's pretty sad.

Anyway, farewell to the Nintendo Badge Arcade on 3DS. Thanks for the daily little bit of fun! :)

Two free plays every day is pretty neat. But one day when the servers go down, all those badges you earned will be lost forever.

How do you people who've spent hundreds of dollars on Badge Arcade feel about it now? I cleared two big panels today for free and a month ago I could imagine that costing a few bucks. Across the entire game that'd add up pretty quickly. If you started playing now, you could probably clear all the panels for waaaay less than it'd have cost previously.

Gotta say though, it's so much more fun checking in these days knowing that every panel is going to refresh and there'll be two free plays waiting, it almost feels worth the time it takes to load. I miss Arcade Bunny, but the "game" is so much better.

Anybody who paid for this certainly couldn't have cared about the cost.
