It also appears to be in a technologically advanced future. I don't really see any post-apocalypse influences in these art teases.

If anything from the things he's put up, it seems to be a resistance thing since there are things from the future.

I don't think there are many games that have that that don't involve aliens, aside from Remember Me, I think. I hope that the game can distance itself from other games in every way.

Looking closer at this image I wonder if it'll be the story of a poor, lower class fight against the wealthy. The two characters are wearing tattered clothes and seem to be separated from the upscale looking city by a moat.

I don't really see him starting his own studio but anything is possible I guess. I'm interested in what this is, but part of me doesn't want to care at all. I dislike Cliffy B. He's the Dane Cook of the gaming world.

That rocket launcher is actually for the kid, like strangers wrath, you go around collecting children to use as ammo for your Orphan launcher.

Not seeing the "hate" you are talking about for TLOU( though the fanbase is a bit insufferable) more pointing out that TLOU didn't invent tough guy escorting kid from point A to point B. Also who's having a "meltdown"?

the road was first of all a book, then the movie came out. and if you read it or saw the movie you'd know it doesn't have any resemblance to what has been shown by cliffy b.

Agreed. The pic just made me cringe. One emotionally manipulative game is enough and unlike ND who was able to pull it off successfully I really can't see Cliffy doing the same. Personally I think he is just trolling again.

What makes me cringe is people shitting on something from a single production pic, calling something "emotionally manipulative" when you know fuck all about what it even is. It's a single picture of a man and a kid, calm down. Also ND just took a bunch of tropes already found in books and movies and put it into a game, it was well done but not impossible for someone else to do just as well.

Half the story was the animation especially facial animation and most importantly the dialogue. You are underselling just how progressive TLOU is in that regard by saying just anyone can do it as good. It uses tropes, anyone can use tropes sure but putting it into a package that just shines, well, only an elite few can do that one of which I'm afraid isn't Cliffy.
