Animal Crossing Mobile -OT-

I don't have high hopes for this; but curious as to what it even will be. Hope they are working on a traditional game behind the scenes as I don't want to get into mobile gaming at all even if it is for my beloved Animal Crossing.

Been playing each iteration since the GC and would hate to break that just because Nintendo feels they have to break into the mobile market to chase after microtransaction money.

This will be interesting to finally see. While Nintendo stated that there won't be any news concerning 3DS or Switch games, we might get a few nuggets about the unannounced (but we all know it's coming) AC Switch. Apparently the mobile game will somehow connect with future installments.

Going to gamble that mobile is the Trojan horse and January direct is first switch tease? Full release at e3 :3

I wonder how this will effect the possibility of AC coming to the switch. This is one title that I think could work amazingly on mobile and focus heavy on that market.

With Tom and nook they could also make a lot of real money. Gotta make your pad look fire for virtual visitors.

It'll all come to switch. AC is one of their highest selling series, top 5 if not top 3. Well above Zelda and Metroid.

The key will be finding a way to link this mobile game to the eventual console release.

That's true, it is a heavy sales hitter. If they are going to bring it to the Switch my bet would be they give a few second blurb tomorrow about look for news in 2018.

I could see the mobile game being closer to designing versus the standard daily formula.

They did today a Server maintenance of fire emblem heroes.
They never did since the release.
Maybe the 2 things are connected..

Yo man why did you call this Animal Crossing Mobile OT?
I thought an Animal Crossing mobile game just came out or something.
Anyway, I haven't been very impressed by Nintendo's mobile offerings thus far. They just all feel very shallow on actual content.

Fire Emblem heroes is a lot of fun when you get past the easy starting missions.

I did play Fire Emblem when it first came out. But the story was just so rubbish and there wasn't really much to do after you had finished it. Very little reason to log in each day I guess is what I'm trying to say.

It seems appropriate that an Animal Crossing thread is where I state my opinion on all of this.

You are my people. You are the reason I have loved this site for the best part of a decade.

And I'm here for the games.

I hope this game is great, and I hope I can continue to rely on you guys to help me make the most out of it. Thanks.

Pretty hyoed for this, anyone know what time this is in the UK?
7am, I think.

I'm still hoping they say "and this Animal Crossing game will work with a future Animal Crossing game on Switch".

I know they said no game talk for other systems, but it'd be cool to say that atleast.

As long as this game still feels like AC while not being too “complete”, not enough to take the place of a real installment on Switch at least, I’ll be happy.

not really interested in the game, but this has the potential to be a money-making machine for nintendo..but i wonder how much they'll dumb down the original premise considering how mario and fire emblem ended out.

I hope it actually feels/plays like Animal Crossing but I wouldn't be surprised if it's more like Simpsons Tapped Out...

I am hoping the mobile game interacts with the next Switch title. I have four 3DS systems with four Animal Crossing games in my house and I cannot buy four switches. Let the mobile games be the grunt work while updating the Switch Village with the players edits, I already have 4 iPhones in the House.

How soon did Fire Emblem Mobile come out after its Direct? Just wondering when we could potentially expect this to be released.

Pretty hypocritical post if that pic was to get banned based on the posters feelings toward the owner of GAF

I'm at work and just trying to read this thread and that pops up, well what if someone saw that and felt sexually harassed by me smh

Can't wait, I really hope they did a good job here because I love AC and would be good to have it on mobile until a Switch version come out.

I'm not really hyped for this. I love the Animal Crossing franchise, but I can't get into mobile games. I hope to hear something like "... And this game will also connect with the core Switch game coming out in 2018".

Ok, so tonight at midnight. I hate the time zone thing when using USA as a reference... my country, on the other hand, has exactly 12hours of difference with japan and that makes it way easier when checking THEIR schedules

So what do we think it’s going to use as a revenue model, paid full unlock like SMR? Or IAPs like FE?

Mostly I just hope it’s not designed to supplant the console and portable games. Give me buttons or give me death.

I'm thinking this direct is serving a dual purpose, in promoting Mario Odyssey in some way JUST before release (even if it is just an "oh, by the way!"), as well as talking about their new mobile game.

I mean, like, have all the feelings you want about the current standing on NeoGAF, but I'm still browsing at work. We don't need to be needlessly uncivilized.

There is no way the mobile game does not tie into the inevitable switch release. I don't think we'll hear about it tomorrow, but we sure can speculate.

Yeah, I fully expect some parts of the mobile game to carry over to the Switch title. And since they can't be that far apart, I'd expect the Switch title no later than next Sept.
