Next week is already packed. Hard to tell but right now I think has more chances to release next month.

Agreed. Even if it was ready, they'd be in a much better space releasing the first week of October. Only 3 games to compete with then, as far as I know: Superbeat Xonic EX, Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime and Axiom Verge.

By now, I have to agree with this, although the first October week can easily become a 10-game release week as well. (I think next week only had 2 scheduled releases when September started, now that has grown to around 10 games next week.)

BTW, I read that there were 46 Switch games present at TGS, which is the same as 3DS+Wii U last year.

Anyone have a Switch price comparison sheet which has Steamworld Dig 2 on and the prices across various regions? The sheet i use just has N/A on the SD2 prices.

20% and 15%. Almost I prefer no sale instead to see this, sincerely.
Puyo Puyo would be decent, at least, if it wasn't already cheaper in NA.

simultaneous release with Japan which updates their eShop on Wednesdays (our time).

Nope™, Switch eShop updates on Thursday in Japan (though it seems some/most games go live at midnight, so technically Wednesday afternoon/evening in Europe).

I thought for a second the September 27th release could be due to simultaneous release at 12AM JST, but it's also listed as September 27th for Japan, so...

NoA is lazy and 4 or 5 games on spotlight is too much work. I think Thimbleweek Park deserves it more.

Understood, I'm just surprised their own first party release isn't first in line for the spotlight. Granted, most people going on the eShop won't read the PR beforehand.

Thanks for the info. But, why not put it in this week's spotlight?

Why did you ignore my post?! xD

It >is< releasing on an odd day, though we don't really know why. Release dates get shuffled when the usual eShop update day falls on a public holiday, but that's not the case here so really got no idea.

Has it ever been mentioned why the Switch doesn't just automatically download purchases made on the Nintendo online store, but instead needs to be woken up first? Sort of defeats the purpose of buying through a browser if you still need access to the system to actually get anything.

It does. It just doesn't check the server as frequently as you might want it to. I've turned my Switch on a few times and went "oh, I bought this!"

If Nintendo wants good and solid 3rd party support, I think this is a good move to focusi on the indie releases in their own marketing material.

I'm sorry, I wasn't meaning to ignore it at all. I understand about the odd day, I just wasn't so much surprised about that as I was surprised about the spotlight omission.

I agree completely, but there's no limit on games they can focus on in the spotlight, and AFAIK every other first party release to this point has been featured therein.

Surprisingly, Arcade Archives: Mario Bros. isn't a first party release. It's being published by Hamster. They partnered with Nintendo for these classic arcade releases.

Because capcom hates both nintendo and me and don't want CPS2 beat em ups on the switch ='(

Or else they would be next on the list after neogeo

I think it's mentioned in the Dig 2 OT that Image & Form is already working on changing the menu icon :lol

They should just steal this and put their logo on top of the text and call it a day:

edit: On second thought, you'd be best to impose one of your characters on top of the Village People Indian stereotype there

Volgarr is awesome, I played it on Xbox One and loved it. Tempted to get it again on Switch but probably don't need it again.

Glad that it's still hitting Wii U as well for those that haven't migrated! Everyone wins.

it blows my mind they're still pulling through on the long-promised Wii U version. good on them!

It's a little more believable when you consider it's out on the Dreamcast. Anyone here played it? I'm sorta stressed out just thinking about the difficulty.

Earthlock on Switch
We are very happy to announce that we will be publishing Earthlock on the Switch. We will initially be doing this in Japanese and English only, and then as soon as we get the game translated to other languages, we will update with those. We can’t say much more about this release right now, but you may expect more exciting news about this release soon. As we release on Switch, we hopefully will be able to release the Japanese version of Earthlock on Playstation 4 at the same time.

Right now Bendik and Erik are attending Tokyo Game Show and meeting with Cross Function, our publishing partner in Japan.

WiiU keys and patch
We did a mistake when we prepared the WiiU selection options on Backerkit - we forgot to add region options like USA and EU. Since we need to pay Nintendo for the WiiU keys we give our backers, we have been waiting to see how many chose WiiU and what region they like it in. Keys have now been ordered and we will hopefully get them next week. We are really sorry for the delay and understand the frustration some backers have expressed as non-backers are now able to buy the game, but the backers have to wait.

We also regret to inform you that we have been alerted to a bug in the WiiU version that we are currently working on fixing. It’s our fist time trying to patch a Nintendo game so we don’t know how long the process takes, but we will update you as soon as we know.

If you have any problems with the reward selection or for some other reason like some support, pease contact us at support @ snowcastle.no

That is all for now!

Best regards,
Bendik

Cool.

I think Soldam is a remake of an old arcade puzzle game by Jaleco. I'd love some impressions of it myself.

I played the JPN version (which lacks online play) and felt like it's a good game but a really bad value for that price, much less the extra $10-$15 that Dispatch is charging for it. The lack of the arcade game's tower mode leaves a void that the practice/time trial/challenge modes just don't fill. The game's versus mode is not very good IMO, so adding online play seems kind of pointless.

Wait for a sale.

edit: And before I forget to mention it, Soldam: Drop Connect Erase and Soldam: Bloom Declaration (the Japanese version) are not considered the same game on the eShop. Suppose it makes sense given the online mode, but something to watch out for.
