The big update hit earlier today, still reading the patch notes:

info/graphics http://dirtybomb.nexon.net/microsite/containment-war

Full patch notes:http://dirtybomb.nexon.net/news/4624

Just the balance:
Balance Changes
Fragger

Frag Grenades no longer always instagib players inside the inner (maximum) damage radius
Players on low enough health (typically 80) can still be instagibbed by the explosion if it deals enough damage
Frag Grenade - Reduced inner (maximum) damage radius to 32cm (from 64cm)
Frag Grenade - Increased maximum damage to 180 (from 150)
Nader

Martyrdom no longer always instagibs players inside the inner (maximum) damage radius
Players on low enough health (typically 80) can still be instagibbed by the explosion if it deals enough damage
Martyrdom - Reduced inner (maximum) damage radius to 32cm (from 64cm)
Proxy

Proximity Mines no longer always instagib players inside the inner (maximum) damage radius
Players on low enough health (typically 80) can still be instagibbed by the explosion if it deals enough damage
Proximity Mines - Reduced inner (maximum) damage radius to 32cm (from 64cm)
Proximity Mines - Increased maximum damage to 180 (from 150)
Proximity Mines - Increased outer damage radius to 4.8m (from 4.4m)
Kira

Updated Orbital Laser so it now moves at a constant speed
Adjusted Orbital Laser speed to 7.6 m/s
Sparks

Increased REVIVR minimum charge time to 0.4s (from 0.35s)
Increased get-up time when revived using the REVIVR to 1.0s (from 0.7s)
Vassili

Increased the detection radius of the Heartbeat Sensor by ~7%
MoA SNPR-1

Reduced time between shots to 1.3s (from 1.4s)
Increased magazine size to 6 (from 5)
No longer always instagibs if it kills a target with a headshot, however players on low enough health (typically 50) can still be instagibbed
Now gibs any downed enemy with a single shot, regardless of hit location
FEL-IX Sniper Rifle

Reduced time between shots to 1.5s (from 1.7s)
Increased magazine size to 7 (from 6)
No longer always instagibs if it kills a target with a headshot, however players on low enough health (typically 50) can still be instagibbed
Now gibs any downed enemy with a single shot, regardless of hit location
Burst Fire Rifles

We've updated the two Burst Fire rifles to differentiate them a little more from other automatic rifles and each other. Now each rifle deals more damage per-burst with a greater delay between each burst. Overall damage-per-second has been lowered a little to only just higher than fully automatic rifles.

BR-16

Increased magazine size to 30 (from 27)
Increased damage per round to 17 (from 15)
Reduced rate of fire to 800RPM (from 857RPM)
Increased delay between bursts to 217ms (from 133ms)
Stark AR

Increased magazine size to 27 (from 24)
Increased damage per round to 18 (from 15)
Increased delay between bursts to 260ms (from 133ms)
Dreiss AR

Increased damage per round to 26 (from 25)
Augments

Reduced Get-Up Augment to give 30% extra health when reviving (from 50%)
This brings Get-Up in line with some of the other useful Medic augments and should also slightly reduce the impact of revive 'trains'

If you have already unlocked Phoenix by the time the Containment War update arrives, you'll get a special reward of your own: 1x Elite Case A, 1x Elite Case B and a unique Obsidian Loadout Card for Phoenix!

This will end a week after the release of the Containment War during the week of October 28th, so be sure to grab your free Phoenix while you can!

Gonna have to reinstall just to get this :p

Oh hey, ultimate starter pack is 75% off on Steam right now.

Stoker is as fun as I remember. Now I no longer have to play skyhammer. I already got a silver loadout for stoker to due trading in 3 silvers I didn't use.

Gonna have to reinstall just to get this :p

I got the obsidian phoenix card and then in one of my cases I got a cobalt phoenix lol

Nice to have choices at least.

Now for obsidians I have the 5 founder loadouts (I guess these might not technically count as obsidian), arty (never play), and phoenix (fav. healer).

I don't know why I can't play this game without frequent problems with loading into maps. If I'm incredibly lucky I get a match where nothing happens, but it's too rare to try to grind points for a character, or those daily missions. Though after experiencing a hiccup with Wildstar I think I may have a clue.

With this game I get in infinite loading hangups when I try to enter a match usually. Sometimes I get a standard load pick to spawn or start match and get kicked back to the main menu. Then other times I'd be in the game and when I die suddenly it looks like I lost connection with everyone walking into walls type of thing, and kicked back to main menu.

Maybe it's a AMD processor issue (wildstar has this problem currently, bugs and odd things for amd users. Not optimized for AMD processors), or it's firewall or some weird connection thing.

Anyway, I backed the game up for when I upgrade to intel next year to see if that get it to work, and maybe it'll be before I'm able to get in the Overwatch Beta or before it's actually released. I liked this game's theme. It reminds me a bit of Resistance 2's co op style with dropping ammo packs, healing, and TF2 stuff. Pheonix looks cool, thanks for the Logitec promotion, couldn't try him out though :(

Have you tried posting on their technical issues forum? http://forums.warchest.com/forumdisplay.php/53-DB-Bugs-Exploits-and-Technical-Issues

No, I've mainly googled the problem and read other threads people made. There were some tricks people suggested and some posted it didn't work for them. On the official threads side, a GM would tell them to open a ticket with customer service (I think it was a GM iirc, didn't know those existed outside of MMORPGs). I figured if people would find solutions from the tickets they would have entered the thread and told what advice they were given from the ticket in that thread.

I haven't played in 2 months but the drop in concurrent players is quite noticeable when looking at the server browser. It's actually kind of sad because now quite a few of my friends have decided to join in.

Perhaps that is because people are playing in ranked as well, which won't show up in the server browser.

Phoenix free until the 4th. Worth logging in to get.

I don't think so. It used to be that if I filter in for example Stopwatch and Not Full rooms, I'd often see more than ten rooms that are 13/14 or 11/12, etc. I'm lucky if I see five now.

Isn't that just a sign of rooms filling up well rather than a lack of players?

Replying to this thread since it is the most recent about this game. But having just gotten a new gaming PC recently I missed this game when it was first released so perhaps I have also missed out on the initial hype, if there even was any, but I kind of like it. A decent amount actually.

First off I had no idea that Splash Damage was responsible for it until checking it out, and they are only responsible for one of my favorite MP games ever with Enemy Territory. And now that I know they are behind this game, I definitely see the similarities. It then also reminds me a lot of SOCOM but First Person view.

Really it just ticks off a lot of check marks for my own personal tastes in an FPS.

I did only play around 4 rounds tonight, so I am not really sure yet just how much Pay to Play comes into play with this game, but I get the idea since they push it so much in the game it is pretty important, so is that the case?

I am heavily considering picking up this Down and Dirty Starter pack and I guess my only concern about doing so is will it carry over if and when the game ever comes out of Beta? I see it says it is permanent unlocks, but do they mean for the Beta or for the durtation of the game?

Also one last thing, I did not get a chance to check out any customization or equipping of other weapons, etc. Assuming that happens in the Barracks?

Pretty surprised with the game though. i remember hearing about it years ago and thinking to myself it sounded like my type of game, so it is a pleasant surprise to discover it now and actually somewhat enjoy it. Any game I can be a newbie at playing and still feel like I can compete is okay in my book.

Your equipment is governed by load-out cards which are what you get in the equipment cases and manage from the Barrack's screen. They define a set of equipment that includes your long gun, side arm and melee weapon. They also include between 1 and 3 passive buffs that may give you a bonus to reload speed, sprint stamina, and other things of that nature.

More common cards can be used to trade up to higher tier ones for the character of your choice so it's pretty easy to grind up a good collection of bronze load-outs for a bunch of characters just with the currency you earn by playing if you aren't too picky about getting specific guns or abilities. Cards above bronze are only cosmetic changes so as long as you have some bronze cards for your favorite characters you aren't at a disadvantage.

Awesome thanks for the reply. Helps clarify things for sure. Will just play and enjoy it then. Definitely liked what I played last night.

I do remember them talking about weapon attachments while in alpha/closed beta.

The MOFO update looks interesting.

I've seen 2 titanfalls hyped and launched since I started playing DB in alpha lol...

Is anyone actually playing this game any longer? I mean, it still looks like a blast. And optimization was a big reason I stopped playing.

Looks like a good update! Two mercs in such a "short" amount of time. Good to see Splash Damage making a push on this excellent game.

Liking the weapon damage adjustments as well.

They said at GC there's going to be 6-7 weeks between merc releases with new primary and secondary weapons till the end of the year.

Yep! We've got another update video going out today (which I'm in......) chatting about some of the bits the guys spoke about on Twitch

First time I tried the game today. Wow, this is really fun to play. I am kinda angry that I didn't install this earlier. I nice change from the constant ability spam of games like Paladins. Support seems good for Dirty Bomb, right? I might keep playing this.

I just wish they had a "all current and future mercs" pack like games like Paladins and Gigantic etc. I have no issue throwing a bit of money at a game if I enjoy it.

So that's a guaranteed 3 mercs by 2018?

oh man, SD has been killing it ever since they broke off of Nexon

I hope some mercs are close-quarters specialists with riot shields and dual wielding SMG's

and they give us a rubber ducky trinket 😉

Question: anyone else suffering from terrible lag/slowdown in the menus? It takes away any fun I have, it's seriously bothering me.

I tried all kinds of fixes but nothing. Any ideas?

What have you tried? It's been an issue since forever. I think switching between fullscreen and borderless window fixed it for me, but it was a loooong time ago! :)

Man I love this game. I can not stop playing it. It is the right amount of pace, action and team work for me. I fear that I'll get roflstomped at some point though. I am probably still in the newb lobby. Is casual solo queue or do you end up against premades? This is what killed Paladins for me.
Also 5k players currently online.

Yes, my menus are laggy too.

This fucking Turtle shield is way too OP. Since he is in the free rotation you have like 3 people setting up shields on defense. And even 3 or 4 nades don't destroy it. How do you fight against this? What works best against this newb shield?

Edit: I guess I could have edited the previous post...
