Yeah, the one in the middle leftish is new afaik. It was used a bit in the hero mode trailer, but it seems to be an auto-fire fast shooter, like splattershot. Not sure what the actual stats on it are like.

It seems Hero Versions of all the current Weapons types will be in the Campaign (who knows what the DLC will add) which assuming you can take any weapon into any level would be pretty awesome replay value. That's at least 8 playthroughs per level right there.

Sheldon will rent you weapons exclusively for use during Hero Mode, as he can fieldtest them that way and get approval for use in Turf Wars.
Probably means you still have to buy weapons outside Hero Mode.
While Marie is member of "Squid Sisters" she's also Agent 2 of "New! Squidbeak Splatoon". During Cuttlefish's disappearance she's monitoring the movements of the Octarians. Get this, Agent 4 doesn't know about the "Squid Sisters"! I wonder if he/she doesn't watch that much TV..
Looks like the Octarians have been recruiting new friends in Octo Valley and plot to invade again. Flying Airship "Octoppelin" 「タコッペリン号」 and Rolling Ball "Octostrike" 「タコストライク」, Octarians are constantly developing new weapons and plan to stop Agent 4 by any means necessary.
The new enemy names are plays on Zeppelin and Strike (bowling).
Unknown to people, "New! Squidbeak Splatoon" that fights against the Octarians. Young Inkling that has just arrived in "Inkopolis Square", led by Marie you're designated as Agent 4. From Octo Valley you're set to search the Octarians underground base.
Something like that, hopefully we'll get official Tumblr post soon to clear it up.

We've already seen a screenshot posted back when the Humpback Pump Track was announced showing an inkling using the Hero Splatling Replica during a multiplayer match, it was just speculation at the time but now that we've seen official confirmation of all these Hero weapon types it seems pretty safe to surmise that all the Hero variants will be available, perhaps unlocked for purchase once you "field test" them in the campaign?

I think the English term for this type of gun is a "carbine"- essentially a two-hander with a short barrel. We can reasonably deduce it will have medium range and power- the real question is the firing rate. I'm guessing it will have an auto-burst mechanic, but no idea if the sum of the burst will be below or above the splatting threshold (e.g. L-3 vs. H-3).

All weapons in the single player are Hero Weapons, and usually sport a different skin. You can get a "replica" outside single player, but in the first game they were all rewards for completing the amiibo challenges.

Oh yeah I got that, but what I'm getting at is that we have 3 different looks for the Heavy Splatling so far:
This one, from a tweet much earlier in the year with the lifted drum, the one with the more traditional Hero weapon color scheme in my previous post, and the chrome one from the trailer. It's kinda weird.

I mean... a few weapons in the first game has had more than 3 reskins.
All I'm wondering is why haven't we seen that first splatling design with the lifted drum compared to the other two with the current design from Splatoon 1. We know about the variants, which either had a sticker on it or some visual changes with only the hero weapons having actual physical parts of the weapon changed.
Keep in mind that in Splatoon the main weapon in story mode was the Hero Shot:
Which was pretty much exclusive to story mode but was basically just a reskinned Splattershot. And the replica of it you can get in multiplayer IS literally just a reskinned Splattershot.
This "new" weapon appears to just be the new Hero Shot.

We already knew the first three agents, and the inkling you play as in Splatoon 2 is new as well, so them being agent 4 is only natural.
Wait that looks official? Damn...

It's still real though. The building I work in, a prestige building in Sydney Australia finished in 2012, has floor 3A instead of 4. Someone must care.

She's definitely heavily involved with the octarians to some extent, though whether it's a conscious beyrayal or brainwashing or some sort of coersion or what is unknown.
