Short News
Nothing on FFXI, oddly.
Fate/unlimited codes, ARC, Capcom, fighting, 08/Spring, based on the Type Moon franchise, has at least Saber, Emiya, Archer, Lancer, Tohsaka

Umm... fuck yes? Damn near nothing can make this better. Well maybe Melty Blood characters, but yeah it's damn near perfect.

The Fate Unlimited game is being developed by Capcom?

Confirmed to be a worthy 2D fighter. Probably a much better concept than Melty Blood, at lesat Fate/Stay Night has characters that actually have weapons/attacks/special moves.

short news:

Family Ski suppot Wii balance borad.
That's good news. It's the game where you use Wiimote and Nunchuck as skiing-poles (is that the correct term?), right? This could very well become a good game now, despite the title.

While hunting, an otomoail can be brought along, limited to one in single-player. There are many different types, with different patterns and abilities. Ther can be trained in the Ail Kitchen.

What's an otomoail? Some sort of felyne?

wow, I thought this died a long time ago.

I actually am hoping it turns out good, a Battlefield style game with Gundams is interesting.

It wont beat any battlefields but for us Gundam fans I'd imagine it'll be fun, specially with XBL and all.

Oh and whoa @ the Fate game.I absolutely detested the anime but a fighting game is what I've always wanted out of that series.

Have people really forgotten what ARC means?

Probably... considering it actually states that it's an arcade game right in the article. :p

What's an "otomail"? Kitten/cat or some pun thereon (the kitchen being staffed by Felynes)?

I hope they don't take this kind of stuff TOO far as an easy out from making more REAL content (i.e., wyverns). The farm and kitchen junk is plenty as it is.

You think most people on Famitsu threads actually read Japanese? :lol

Uh well, the first person to actually make the Arc Systems comment was Bebpo... so...

FWIW I don't know if Hcoregamer can read Japanese :p

The Capcom arcade game is based on Fate/Stay Night, right? Isn't that rooted in some hentai or manga porn (whatever it's called)? I watched the anime series and recall reading some youtube comments saying as much.

It seems odd that such a major well-respected company would invest so much in a license that has such a errr... suspect pedigree. Is the Fate series just that popular in Japan to justify this?

The Fate/franchise originally stems from a mass-market PC game with adult scenes, yes. However, this is by no means unusual for items targeted at the core gamer or nerd markets, and it's not like an arcade fighter is going to be hitting the mass market anyway.

Could you give some examples of a game with a reasonable budget developed by a big company, based on an IP with a similar background. I expect as much from smaller companies or for a slightly larger company to produce a doujin game that was developed by other people, but this seems like it is being built from the ground-up by Capcom.

This is totally different from a cleaned-up NEC or Interchannel DC/PS2 port.

This reminds me of True Fantasy Live Online having almost the same town as gustaberg.

Scan #2 says: Hey suckas, Sakimoto in da house! :D

:O You're right! Anticipation +1! (Blurry text though :|)
That explains why you guys were wondering (is this Sakimoto?!) for the TGS trailer.

You're assuming that this will have a reasonable budget and that Capcom's arcade division qualifies as a big company. :lol
Both Koei (Strawberry Porno) and Enix (Lolita Syndrome) were involved in the adult games market in the early years, and more recently, adult PC games have crossed over into notably less adult multimedia events; look at most of Key's products, for example.
If this turns out to be actual Capcom development, it might be a first for development actually being farmed out to a respectable company, but it likely would say more about the current state of Capcom's arcade division than about Type-Moon's gradual climb of the stairs of respectability.

Not to mention, in the past year or so, both Fate/tiger coliseum (based off this very franchise; PSP, dev. Cavia, pub. Capcom) and Melty Blood Act Cadenza (based off their previous, selfpublished franchise; ARC/PS2, dev. Ecole, pub. Sega) have been released.
