Ahhhh. Well I'm pretty sure that yes. They will be available on the eShop. Nintendo really try to push Digital. Thought he meant Pokemon R/G/B/Y/S/G/C/E/R/S.

Well these beasts are based on Norse Mythology so they are different. However I do agree that they repeat a lot of the same ideas/animals there are still plenty they haven't drawn upon such as pegasus, kraken, squid, toucan, narwhal, geese, dolphin, lemur, baboon, arctic fox/wolf, koala bear, jack o lantern, scarecrow, cheetah, llama, snowman, griffin, chupacabra, chimera, minotaur and many more.

I imagine it'll take up a LOT of space, and further more, if you remove the game from the 3DS it deletes the save file too. Which sucks, because I'm stuck with a huge-ass Professor Layton game + save on my 3DS till I beat it.
It's just that his original Sugimori Art was soooo bland. It wasn't till the Anime showed he could use his scallop as a sword, which made him so much cooler, and had him smiling.

Holy fuck the amount of work we did on this thing ahahaha, added like 100 Pokemon. He got pretty good marks though. It was my job to come up with the Pokemon, his job to come up with the boring shit after. Never got round to drawing any though, because I can't fucking draw. Apologies for the length, I'll remove if its too long but he's now quite excited to see what people think of his Pokemon :lol
Sorry if this has already been answered (didn't see it in the OP) but if I've never played a Pokemon game before, is this likely to be a good place to jump in?
Also what's the deal with this whole two versions of the game malarkey? Do I have to buy both? Or does it require another person with a 3DS and the other game or something?

Black/White was the best place to jump in, but this probably won't be too shabby. We know like nothing about it though so who knows.
And the versions just have a few exclusive locations or pokemon, so you have to interact with another copy (on another system, so yeah a friend) if you want to "catch 'em all." No need otherwise.
Yeah, the start of a generation is always a good place to jump in, but if you're looking for something maybe a little simpler and tested formula, the HeartGold/SoulSilver remakes are also good.
There's two versions that differ in some version exclusive Pokemon and typically a different legendary, and that's everything important really; but its easy enough nowadays to trade online to get new Pokemon.
I guess not, it's always been really pronounced in my head but looking at the sprites side by side tells me otherwise.
I do remember looking at the two the first time and noticing that they were different, though.

Well, you still have 8 months until the new generation comes out. I've been telling people that Black 2 is great to get in to beforehand - that's what I'm doing, and I'm enjoying it. A new generation is always a great place to jump in, though.

The switch to 3D Models I imagine will make incorporating them even easier, so I hope they bring them back...Gen V kept them, but none of the new Gen V Pokemon had any, which was a bit disappointing since it was a pretty neat little feature they introduced.
Actually, with 3D Models, I'd love to see minor variations in the models based on Nature introduced, like maybe them being a slightly different shade of color, or having altered patterns or something.

Well, my thinking here is that the older games haven't gone down in price at all. So if I'm gonna pay full price, might as well get the latest version. Particularly as I just recently got a 3DS XL.

Gotcha. Up to you if the $35 matters now, haha. The new game is kind of far away.

Oh yeah, but they were the only ones and super-noticeable...most of the Gen IV ones were little things based off nature, like bugs having bigger abdomens on the females, and males having bigger horns and such. I liked that. I remember when that feature was first revealed, people went nuts and said we'd have female Machoke wearing bras and shit.

I don't understand this mentality. Why would you delete a game that you own just because you beat it? It's not like you're getting any money back from it like you would if you were selling a physical game. And what if you have the urge to come back and play it again for whatever reason, with your original data? If space on your SD card is that much of an issue, you should just get a bigger one. A 16 or 32 GB SD card will hold plenty of 3DS games.
That said, as much as I like the benefits of digital downloads, I'll be sticking with physical releases for these games like all my other 3DS games. I like consistency, and the ability to share the game or just use it in another system if I need to.

Other consoles I know store the game download and the save download separately, so you can delete the game to make space for a new game, and come back later and re-download it and pick back up where you left off.
I just find it a bit annoying that I have to buy more SD cards and keep track of which game is on which, as opposed to just keeping the smaller save files and deleting/redownloading the games as I please.

Nah - the types are perfectly balanced as it is. Dark and Steel were added in Gen II specifically to to correct balancing issues, not to offer more variety.
Give Ice a couple of resistances and buff Poison somehow, that's all I need. Though these would make Grass even worse. Balancing is hard
flying needs some kind of resistance too tbh

Cell shaded characters look good but those environments leave a lot to be desired.. The map needs to be as big as in the previous games so concessions have to be made, I guess.
You have to admit it's still rather damn silly the save file gets deleted along with the game.

I'm looking forward to these games, Black and White were far better than Diamond and Pearl and I hope they can keep up the momentum with X and Y.
Anyway, I'm not allowed to vote for a starter on the poll apparently, and I think they all look great but I think I'll be choosing Fennekin this time, I like fire types, but I chose Oshawot last time because I got fed up of the Fire/Fighting hybrid, which doesn't look likely to happen this time.
