It's sorting out the depth rather than the height. Depth being one of the reasons the existing slim looked so odd and out of proportion.

No time to read the whole thread but is the 16GB model without a HDD? I hope not, I always thought Microsoft hurt themselves by having a model with a HDD.

What do you think the 16 GB is, RAM? Of course they can't release a system without a hard drive, their OS, save files, account files, and other files need to be stored on it. Microsoft was in a different situation, they had proprietary slots in the system for memory cards and other peripherals, they could go around the issue of having a hard drive in every system. If Sony decides o allow access to flash drives for saves and other files, they are literally opening flud gates for exploitation and hacking. And besides, why would it matter this late into generation if hard drive is standard? If they can get casuals sitting on the fence I say more power to them.

60GB is beautiful.
My PS3 slim has been sounding like a jet engine and has been freezing up constantly lately. It's only a year old and I'm pretty sure it's going to die even though I rarely use it. I haven't been keeping up with this new model... what's so special about it? How much storage is in it? I just might pick one up when they come out.

Would it really slide, though? Why have an eject button if it slides? I suppose that could be an unlock button or something for the lid, but that seems a little strange.

Afaik the forecast is 14m PS3 and 2m PS2, I doubt they expect 3m PS2, that thing is dead, it's a miracle they're still manufacturing it.
