Actors whose career crashed and burned after a hit

I just watched the first episode of 'Veep', Julia Louis-Dreyfus' new series on HBO. Quite liked it. She's 51 and still so fucking hot. I mean, she's more attractive now then she ever was on Seinfeld.

Anyway, that got me thinking. What actors are out there whose careers crashed and burned after a hit series or film or whatever? Dreyfus did Seinfeld, then she did New Adventures of Old Christine which was really good and I think she won an Emmy, and now she's on Veep. She's still out in the spotlight and everyone's aware of her.

You can't really say the same for her co-stars. Seinfeld's probably rich as fucking Warren Buffett now, so he doesn't do shit, but what about Kramer and Jason Alexander? I remember that Alexander had a show that got canceled and he found out about it on Twitter and he did a guest spot on Criminal Minds and some other programs, but I haven't seen him in a long time. Kramer, well he just lynched his own career.

There's also Sarah Michelle Gellar... after Buffy, she didn't do a lot that I remember, then came Ringer... which essentially is crashing and burning, despite being ridiculously trashy fun.

Chris Tucker only does a movie when hes broke.

Also might be a little too early to judge. But guaranteed daniel radcliffe wont get much work.

I hope she shows her tits

Edit: Oh and half the cast of Friends

Well, let's see...

LeBlanc is now on 'Episodes' on Showtime... where he plays a maniac version of himself.
Aniston still does films... Horrible Bosses is the highlight of her career as a sex-crazed dentist that I need in my life.
Cox has Cougar Town.
Schwimmer... disappeared? I heard he was directing but I've no clue what he directs. Porn?
Kudrow's vanished.
Perry had Mr. Sunshine that was canceled. Dunno what he's up to now.

Most actors that had a huge hit, are followed by unsuccessful pursuits. All of them left their hit hoping they would make it bigger by parleying their success into hopeful future success.

So using Sarah Michelle Gellar as an example, look at her IMDB entry: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001264/

You'll see a huge rash of movies around 2004-2006 which bombed, so her attempt failed.

And others were type casted in their role in the hit where no one was interested in them in anything else.

I think he'll do fine.

Even if he never works again he was plenty of money.

Regarding Perry:

In March 2012, it was announced that Perry got cast in the lead role in NBC’s single-camera-style pilot "Go On". Former "Friends" producer Scott Silveri will write and executive produce the series. Perry will play a charming sportscaster who tries to move on after a personal tragedy through the help of mandatory therapy sessions. The series will premiere in fall 2012.

Pretty much anyone on television. Not even worth listing them. Easier to list the exceptions.

Some notable movie stars whose careers took a nosedive:
Vin Diesel
Haley Joel Osment
Brendan Fraser
Michael Clark Duncan
Cuba Gooding Jr. (someone mentioned it, but it was on the tip of my tongue when I read the thread title)

Early Retirees:
Amanda Bynes
Olsen Twins

How has Vin Diesel's career taken a nosedive?

Judge Doom, then Doc, then nothing really. Which is sad because I loved Christopher Lloyd as Doc Brown, but he really had nothing after that.

michelle trachtenberg did okay for herself, first going over to buffy, then on to teenish movies like eurotrip (which is the last thing i've seen her in)
rick gomez from the same show (he played endless mike) was in band of brothers and does voice acting now
kenan's on saturday night live, did some movies
melissa joan hart was on sabrina for several years
amanda bynes was reasonably successful after her nickelodeon shows

i guess that's it though.

Direct to DVD movies (Like Mike 2) and occasional appearances in Attack of the Show skits.

He is making come back. Got part (lead?) in Paul Thomas Anderson and Spike Jonze (written by Charlie Kaufman ) films this year alone.

Yeah the dude is in HUGE demand judging by the directors wanting to work with him. Can't wait to see those flicks.

Mark Hammill is apt. Voice acting is....just voice acting.

Emile Hirsch :( aka the guy who should be getting all of JGL's roles since he's more talented.
