Gaming on Non-"Gaming" laptops?

Honestly, I'll be happy to just run TERA on Mid - Mid-High settings at something higher than 30fps... though I should aim for 60fps I suppose...

I'm currently researching this laptop:

https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/produc...58154.aspx?icmp=Recos_4across_tp_sllng_prdcts
(Canadian price)

3GHz 7th Generation AMD A9-9420 APU dual-core processor and 8GB DDR4 of SDRAM combine to deliver speedy performance that's perfect for power users and multitaskers
AMD Radeon R5 graphics deliver a boost in speed and performance for an enhanced gaming, multimedia, and photo/video editing experience

What does this even mean?? It's still integrated graphics... no dedicated video memory. Is it a complete waste?

I honestly have little to no interest in playing very new PC games... I'd be happy if this handled my 4+ year old Steam Library...

The games I am most interested in playing would be:

TERA (main reason I dusted off my current PC, runs at 20fps when lucky, my friends won't migrate to PS4, servers are not shared)
Path of Exile
Skyrim
Valkyria Chronicles
Castlevania LoS 2

Any advice?

Edit: Also! HP or Asus?? I think I want an Asus...

Edit: Huh... I didn't notice this one in the store... but they apparently have it:

2GB video in this one, but I'm not digging 256GB SSD... I'm not sure I trust SSDs... loading times are not important to me...

If you YouTube the game and graphics chipset you'll see people benchmarking. Like skyrim:

Just make sure the processor/ram is same ballpark. You're not going to get a great experience for games but I think it might be passable for your needs.

This is the laptop you've been looking for:

https://m.costco.com/Dell-Inspiron-...VIDIA-Graphics---1080p.product.100380743.html

Sale ends soon but $700 for a 1060 6gb is unheard of. Top on a 256ssd and you've got a laptop that Alienware would sell for $1200. Might be more than you'd like to spend but it's definitely worth the investment. The one you linked is pretty bad honestly even for $500. AMD processors are poor for gaming, APU doesn't help much. 1366x768 resolution is pretty insulting as well, I would avoid it at all costs.

Damn that is one heck of a deal. Now I am trying not to beat myself up for buying the one with the 1050ti.

Damn it!!!

I have a AMD A10-8700P Radeon R6.

I wouldn't try to run whatever the new Crysis is on it but it totally plays Path of Exile, Civ 4-6, Transistor, Banished, Skyrim and Dragon Age just fine. YMMV though. I don't notice a difference between 1080p and 900p so I always go for 900p.
