Jeepers Creepers 3 is out in theaters Sep 26th

The first one is a cute little gem, at least until the killer is Batman...err... Man-Bat.

The second is gutter trash unfortunately.

The first film was actually a really effective, fun horror film. The second one, however, was pretty dumb. Still, the director is a scumbag so count me out on any more of his shit.

I mean, that's not why the movie is garbage. That's why he is garbage and why I won't support his movies.

The movie is garbage because it has his pedophilic taint all over it. It's like Scott Buck doing a project. Instead of it being just shiii, it pedophilic and shhiii.

Wait, how did he only serve 15 months for what he did

It seems to be a controversial idea on GAF, but pedophiles aren't necessarily evil, and the common thinking that they are is what is preventing so many of them from seeking help, because what would people think of them? Pedophilia is a mental disorder. The director did something terrible 30 years ago, pleaded guilty, did his time in prison, completed his parole 25 years ago, and, as far as we know, hasn't done anything since. In a case like this, I do think it's too bad so many people don't think he's worth giving a second chance to. I understand why, but I don't think he's a monster.

He molested a kid who worked for him on a film set. He should never be allowed to run a film set again. Like, come on.

Thought the first 2 were trash. They've been rumoring this thing since the 2nd dropped if memory serves. Last I heard of this one was when Adrienne Barbeau dropped out of it earlier this year.

I'll skip it. Not even the horror franchise completist in me wants to sit through it.

No desire to see a film made by that pedophile. JC should have been a one and done film even if part 2 wasn't a complete dumpster fire.

Joining in on the "fuck Victor Salva" hate train.

It's unfortunate that Clownhouse has one of the most disgusting histories behind it (seriously fuck Victor Salva), because that movie is actually creepy and scary. Thr imagery chills me. It's a great little horror movie.

I saw this movie as a kid, but was already pretty in to horror. Not sure why, but I always remembered it being the scariest movie I ever saw. It absolutely terrified 10 year old me. Like I remember being so scared of it I was frozen in fear unable to turn it off.

Finding out what he did puts the films in different perspective, the fact that the damn Creeper had his eyes on Justin Long's character so bad, and the random shirtless scenes of teenager boys in part 2....it got creepy alright.

Director was just lusting all over these films.

Yeah I don't know if I can go back and watch these movies now. definitely won't be watching the third one. I don't understand why this guy would ever get to direct a movie and be given a position of power again. Why not get a different record for the third one.

The guy was convincted pedophile (molesting a young actor in one of his films no less) before he even made Jeepers creepers. Hollywood gives no shits.

In typical GAF fashion, everyone just says, "fuck this director," or, "I won't see this after reading his past". But of course nobody links any information and just expects everyone to either know or dig it up. Just like posting a reply on the gaming side with a picture and no description.

From Wikipedia:

88, Salva was convicted of sexual misconduct with one of Clownhouse's underage stars – a 12-year-old boy – including videotaping one of the encounters.[6] Commercial videotapes and magazines containing child pornography were also found at his home.[6] Salva pleaded guilty to lewd and lascivious conduct, oral sex with a person under 14, and procuring a child for pornography.[6][7] He was sentenced to three years in state prison, of which he served 15 months.[4] He completed his parole in 1992.[7

I like the first movie. I knew about Salva when I saw it. It didn't bother me. It seemed to me that the Creeper was the horrendous part of him, and that the film was a metaphor for his fight against it.

He unquestionably did horrendous things. If he never does them again (and he should never be allowed to work with any actor under 18) I think I can still go see his movies if they look good.

That said, the second... yeesh. The way it pervs over a bunch of young men playing teenagers like something from a David Decoteau movie... yeah. Hard not to let his past really cloud any potential enjoyment from the second movie.

It's a shame too. The sub plot is fantastic, and if he'd made that the main story, I think it could have been a better film than the first. Ray Wise is amazing, and the most important character in the ending. All that dumb stuff with the football team on the bus... someone should have told Salva to avoid material like that.

I shall watch the trailer for this and potentially see it, even knowing what Salva did.

But I can't promise that knowledge won't leave me feeling that the film is problematic, as I definitely felt about Jeepers Creepers 2.

Nope.

Fuck Victor Salva.
Seriously. My partner was asked to audition for the lead in one if his movies (the producer basically said it was a done deal). He was so stoked. Then he found out it was directed by Salva. He was crushed and obviously said, "fuck no"

From Wikipedia:

Here's the thing that gets me... I understand people can separate films from the director and enjoy them on their merits...

But these films are awful on their own merits.

And are really uncomfortable because they feel disturbingly rooted in his personal life.

Wait...didn't they stop it in the second one? I distinctly remember them imprisoning it at the end with the old man waiting for it to wake back up.

It's a good laugh

i love your, "she think my last name is Winchester"

lol

also i never knew about the director, but i find kinda funny that people make it be like if what he did was after he hit it big with Jeepers Creepers, when JC was after he served his time

I for one love this franchise. Didn't know about the directors past until recently and I have a feeling that a theater release gets cancelled because of it.

if JC and JC2 werent cancelled, why do you think the third one will?

It might, but it's not like that stopped either of the first two movies getting released. This stuff definitely all came up again around their release.

Which I think is fair, to be honest, since these movies are written and directed by him. He did it. It's public record. People should know when deciding to see one of his films, even if like me, you decide to go anyways.

Fuck Victor Salva, pedophiles are past where I draw the line. Besides even if he was truly rehabilitated (which I highly doubt considering some of his films imagery) the fact that the boy was an actor it was on set and he used studio equipment to film it, he shouldn't be allowed on a set since he used one to commission his crime.

Times are slightly different. While it was easy back then it's even easier for people to rally together on the internet and really make companies look bad. Whatever movie studio is behind this might not want the bad press

I do believe there are controls in place still with regards to underage actors being on set with him. All the people playing teenagers on the bus who he was perving over were all 18 or older in real life.

Still really made it impossible for me to enjoy the second movie, but it's worth knowing. If someone serves time, and IF (and that's a presumption based on him not being caught again...) he hasn't reoffended in decades, and IF movie making is the profession he knows, I think he should still be allowed to make movies.

But I think it's fair to make sure everyone going to see his movies is aware of his past, so they can decide if it's something they want to pay to go see accordingly.

well, you are right about that

The first was one of those movies where the protagonists are so dumb I start rooting for their demise pretty early on. The random addition of a psychic of all things explaining the plot didn't help. Then they go to the police station and run away from all the cops so the Creeper can find them alone. Bravo. It had some creepy imagery but was one dumb movie.

The second had a good opening scene, and that was all.

I've read about the guy's past, after seeing the films. Part of me is repulsed, and part of me is acknowledging that it was decades ago and he pleaded guilty and should get a chance (but got off way too easy). Dunno. Mixed feelings.

If it gets great reviews, I'll check it out, but based on the quality of the first two, I'm skeptical it will be worth seeing. Which is unfortunate, as it's the kind of movie I would normally really like. I dig the Creeper's design.

It took me two seconds to type the guys name in Google and sure enough that information was at the top. It took more effort for you to complain then Google it yourself.

In typical gaf fashion someone is super lazy to look something up.

He can have a second chance in another job one without power or influence. He lost that right forever when he used his power and influence to do what he did.

First was great, second was alright. Interested in this one, doubt it'll be even close to the first though.

That's the point I am trying to make, same as how people who use computers for big crime can lose their rights to use them even after serving their time and parole and other measures of similar type to keep people away from the methods they used to commit the crime( such as pill pushing doctors losing the right to prescribe at best, medical license as harshest)

Seeing as he specifically used his position and studio owned space and equipment to commission the crime he shouldn't be allowed anymore, especially if he is truly rehabilitated, otherwise it's like an alcoholic hanging out at the bar every night, it may not lead to relapse but it sure ups the chances.

He isn't allowed to be alone with kids on set. I don't see why he should be banned from ever directing again though. I'll see if I can find the restrictions on him with regards to this stuff.

You don't get fired from being a filmmaker. There's no film police that dictates who can or can't make movies. If he's still making movies, it's because there are people who want to work with him.
