Nintendo Downloads - April 2012

I can't believe how bad the NA 3DS Downloads have been.

You would think Nintendo would have a team on it for expanding the service to SNES/64/GBA/DS games for quick, easy money. Maybe we'll hear more at E3, especially maybe some kind of plan for sharing your games between your Wii U and 3DS accounts.

3DSware & DSi games haven't been that bad so far. But I guess people are more interested in old ass games.

I'm pissed that Kid Icarus 3D doesn't have New Game plus like the NES original. They strip you of all your items when you beat the game.

The 3D Classics version seems to be a strange amalgam of the Famicom and NES versions.

This particular piece is how the Famicom version behaved.

Came back, check thread, still no Wario Land, Kid Icarus 2, Trip World, Prince of Persia, Kirby's Block Ball, Dr. Mario or Legend of Zelda on American eShop. :(

This week's EU update:

eShop: Block Factory
DSiWare: Inchworm Animation
WiiWare: 2 Fast 4 Gnomz

Since this is the last update of the month, that means La-Mulana (No surprise there) and Metal Slug 3 have been delayed.

I'm actually glade SNES games aren't on the service. I'd be spending a LOT more money if that were the case. Out of all the systems I've own that was the one where I spent the most time with and have the most love for. It also is the system where the most games I wish I played when I was a kid came out on. The only reason I still haven't jumped on those games on the Wii Shop is because I didn't have the time in the past. Now I want to be sure I can at least transfer those games to the Wii U. Once they address that, hopefully at E3, I'm going right to the Wii Shop channel to buy a lot games along with a few Wii Ware games.

I'm still too obsessed with Colors 3D to care about anything else for a while...

Get Inchworm Animation if you haven't already. There's a lot of overlap with Colors in terms of feature set but it also allows you to create very lengthy animations (including stop-motion stuff with the camera) and export 'em as GIFs. Looks fantastic on DSi XL, too.

Holy crap! Today's real megaton is that more than two people can have the same first name.

Quite looking forward to Block Factory (as long as its reasonably priced)... I love those type of games...

I wish they'd import Goemon 2-4 on the SNES for VC. They're all better than the first game. Goemon 2 is my favorite of them all.

Well Nintendo is still trying to hire a "Digital Distribution Specialist" for the last few months haha.

I'm actually thinking of applying and I'll bring every game you guys could want on the eshop and VC! haha.

Yea it's annoying that our games from Wii shop aren't compatible with 3DS. Sony at least did it right with there setup.

[obligatory moaning about how it's been 4 months since VVVVVV was released in America and Europe still lacks it]

But on a more serious note, I am really digging Colors! 3D. Sadly I absolutely suck at painting, especially digital painting. My first go, a house on a hill, looked absolutely childish. So I resigned myself to watching the paintings of other people instead. Some of those guys are *amazing*.

If you really want to play Kirby's Dreamland as a 3D Classic, just get to stage 6 in Rainbow Resort of Kirby's Aventure 3D Classic. Voila, instant Kirby's Dreamland 3D Classic. :D

Sure about that?

That said, some of the details on there look a bit... odd.
Given that the page says that is already out and Kirby's Dream Land already exists as a Virtual Console game on the eShop, I'm going to say that's a mistake on the site.
Nintendo wouldn't have put it out on Virtual Console if they were going to do a 3D Classics version later, and they wouldn't have them both on the store at the same time.

I believe it had something to do with the game requiring a memory card to save not being emulated proper. Rayman 2 and Quest 64 weren't released for this same reason, I think.

Well that and the fact that they only released like ten N64 games anyway.

I think I am being reasonable. You're right though, I will stop talking about it (until May downloads thread)

Well it is unlikely that you would think that you are being unreasonable :p.

Thank you however for agreeing that it is just not worth pursuing it in this thread. The 'discussion' got quite unpleasant and personal and that's no good for any of us. Not least the pair of you who were banned over it. Besides, it doesn't make for a fun read when a thread is littered with complaint posts about x,y,z game being unreleased, whatever territory that is.

Perhaps we could all kiss [tongues optional] and make up and leave this all in the past where it belongs?

tl;dr: Will no-one think of the children?!!!

I'm so glad they added game gear. now NOE has 4 systems for 3DS to choose virtual console games from to not release.

I played Mutant Mudds demo yesterday and it'll probably be the first eShop title I buy. Though now because of that title I want to get some titles that have caught my eye...

Pushmo
Mighty Switch Force
VVVVVVVVVV
Zen Pinball
Sakura Samurai
Dillion's Rolling Western

And I'm pretty sure there are some gems in DSi Ware land that I don't know about yet.

These are all excellent choices.

Pushmo and VVVVVV are the best options on that list, though I would get VVVVVV on Steam instead since it's cheaper there.

Anyone knows if the Firmware update is available in Japan yet, since it's the 25th there?

If we go by past firmware update timings, it would be up tomorrow morning (around 9AM) European time, so probably midnight for American people. Just speculation though.
