Been playing this on PS4 and having a blast. I've been mainly playing as commando but have also give SWAT a try too. Once I got up to level 10 I tried hard mode and it does feel a lot more challenging. Zeds seem more aggressive, are faster and have additional attacks compared to normal. Enjoying the changes made and am slowly leveling up to try take on suicidal next.

I haven't found many issues in regards to finding games, always been pretty quick to find a group (Europe here). I was even playing at 1am and found people to play with. I've played more games on normal than I have hard and all with ransoms. Going to be playing in a couple of hours so hopefully there'll be just as many people as I found yesterday and Friday.

If you're in Europe and aren't buying the game with a group of friends I'd advise against buying this game on ps4. There is no way to create an online game while you wait for players to join you and no server browser, so you are stuck staring at a searching for games screen for ages. My controller actually turned off whilst it was searching.

I found a game last night and the lag in the game was pretty bad as well.

Just set all your search parameters you want and choose to search for a game not started yet. At least for me it puts you in a fresh server and you can wait to fill it up to start. Went very fast for me last night

The real issue for me is you can't look at friends playing and join them from menu, you have to either invite or join through the ps4 friends list

Wow this worked. Thanks!

Got SWAT and Survivalist to level 5 tonight and am really having a great time. This game needs more attention because it's completely awesome and there's not really anything quite like it. I really hope a ton of people buy it on Black Friday as a part of that GameStop sale because it sure as hell deserves it. This has sleeper hit of the year written all over it.

I've been playing this on PC and genuinely really like it. A friend bought it me on Steam and I played it for half an hour only to find that it makes me really motion sick... ;~; But looking past that, it's a great game.

There is an option in the settings for motion sickness, have you tried it?

I'm surprised people consider it a sleeper hit. Killing Floor 1 was probably one of the best coop games ever made, Killing Floor 2 isn't even a big step up, more of a sidegrade.

Tried messing with fov settings? I had issues with borderlands and this helped me. My problem is I get a little eye strain with really fast paced shooters so I can on a for an hour or so.

Just imagine if this would not have had the (bad) Early Access romp up on PC. I think we can thank the console release to even have an OT now for this.

There is? I'll have to mess with the settings and see what works. Thanks! I get it with all sorts of FPS games, mainly ones on a console. When I was gaming on my old laptop, I was fine with TF2, Half-Life 2 etc, but trying to play them on The Orange Box on PS3 and my new gaming computer gives me a headache after half an hour.

I don't get this game. You kill waves of zombie, leveling is a grind fest for each class its so slow and the weapons are so expensive you don't even bother trying stuff you must save for a high end gun if you want to down the boss that take 50 RPG to down...

Shooting is AMAZING but after 30 minutes it gets amazingly boring because there is nothing to do ?

Or am I missing something ?

Not really. I just like the flow of the matches despite them all being pretty much identical, I think the feedback of the weapons is the major factor. You can always treat each match as a mini story where you come up with fake objectives and a little narrative.

For example when I play the arctic mission I pretend I'm going on a rescue mission that turns bad and I have to run around salvaging data and rigging the base for demolition while giving myself special conditions like "only one visit to the trader for the whole match" or something.

But that's just my way of playing it and I have been doing that since KF1.

p.s. the weapons aren't expensive at all, I can generally get tier 3 weapons at wave 3 on medium length.

It's an arena shooter, it is what it is. But if you want something more to do than just shooting enemies;

-Well firstly every stage does have a 'completed' status with an achievement if you can beat the boss on a stage on Hard difficulty or higher. Of note, all the enemies get new moves and become more challenging on harder difficulties with increased speed, AI behaviors, and numbers. Completing the stages and raising your stats to be more equipped (and more skillful) to tackle harder difficulties is the main point.
-Each stage has a hidden collectathon challenge if you'd like to do that. Several doohickeys hidden around the stage, get them all for some additional experience and an ancievement (though know that you have to get them all in one round, they don't carry over and you have to reshoot them to get them all in one go next time if you fail the first time).
-It's a cooperative game mostly, like many co-op games that aren't campaign focused, the goal is to play with friends.

However, if you want 'more to do', then wait for the upcoming objective mode. The game will get a lot of support post-launch going by every title Tripwire has released so far (including KF1), and one mode confirmed right now for the future it is objective mode (which was a late addition to Killing Floor 1). Objective Mode is what it sounds like, you complete objectives while surviving, the objectives can be surprisingly varied. Also can participate in the Holiday Events when they come that have limited time rewards for doing holiday objectives in the season, and if on PC though there's no official objective mode, know there's some more 'objective campaign' maps out there to play through. There was a scene for those in KF1, and they have carried over to KF2 (a lot of them were RE-themed for whatever reason, my two favorite objective map levels for KF1 was an objective map that was a recreation of the RE1 Mansion where you had to do things to progress, and a map based off of the first RE film, had the laser hallway challenge scene and some huge clutch moments as huge hordes burst after you through the lab, was a lot of fun).

I'm excited for more and more community maps to pop up. KF2 is getting more and more, I need to look at the scene on PC again. KF1 had a lot of really good custom maps, and Tripwire supports the scene by releasing tools and holding mapping contests to get maps into the main game (with a monetary award).

It can be tough at first with perks < 5. Use your knife alone on the first wave at least. A heavy hit to the head will kill Clots, Slashers and Cysts in one. You wont waste money replacing ammo and you get limited xp for kills with the 9mm because it's off-perk.
You'll rank up faster on harder difficulties. I personally never play < 10 round matches.

Thanks again to Yoshiro for the beta key he give to me.

Purchased the game on day one.
And these damn reload animations in slow mo... It's weapon porn.

I'm not sure how the crate system is working. It's 5 Euros to open a single crate (it would be way too expensive) or it's some kind of pass key for all crates ?

Aw man I forgot about objective mode. They even had it previewed a year ago or so - sad it did not make it in the game.

It's still coming, just didn't make it by launch. Tripwire is good about long-term support for their titles. Literally all of their games, but as this is Killing Floor 2, the immediate comparison is they supported Killing Floor 1 for six years after launch, doing major updates at least three times a year (if not more) over time.

The two things we have 100% confirmed right now is that Holiday Events will start next year, and Objective Mode will be coming somewhere along in the future.

Wasn't a new enemy type (double bladed Gorefast I think) and a new tier 4 Berserker weapon confirmed too?

That's not actually true, you get full xp for 9mm kills/assists regardless of the perk you're playing as. The 9mm is always "current-perk."

yeah, only the sword was stupid that it didn't use to give XP to anyone, luckily they fixed that though by making it a zerker weapon.

You're right. Thanks for the correction. It's always worth saving ammo on the easy waves though by using your melee weapon.

For those interested in the mechanics and want to get into the serious numbers, here's a spreadsheet maintained by some righteous dude(s). This is meant to represent the PC build. I've no idea if the console and PC builds differ in any regard.

On the PS4, I've been having a little bit of a jitterey, stuttery experience. The only negative for me. I thought it might be mybinternet, which is usually pretty solid. Anyone else?

I notice that there's something bizarre about the movement and how you interact with physics-enabled objects in the game. It definitely looks like judder, but turns out to be only when you're kicking around the physics objects.

This is on PC and it's been a thing since the first beta build. Maybe that's the judder?

Having a lot of issues with matchmaking at the moment. Only managed to get into two games but it was near instant for me during the beta which is weird.

WWAUT - Post Launch Work Begins! said:
As you now know, we released Killing Floor 2 across officially across PC and PS4 this past weekend. It has been a very exciting time for both returning players and new fans who are just joining us to fight back the waves of Zeds! First of all, we would like to thank all of you for joining us on this journey of what is only one major milestone of hopefully a long trip together.

We’ve been spending a good chunk of our time since Friday monitoring stats, looking at crash reports, and reading player feedback. Today I want to let you know how that is turning into direct action from us.

Globally we are looking at feedback on the Firebug and, new with the launch of the game, the Survivalist. While I don’t have any information to share just yet; we are looking into some changes for both of these perks based on player feedback. We should have more on these over the coming days/weeks. Remember you can keep an eye on the top issues we are tracking here on our Trello board: https://trello.com/b/ZOwMRlcW/killing-floor-2-community-issue-roadmap

Beyond these issues, we have been reproducing community reported bugs and are starting to work on addressing them in our next update. Our content teams are also hard at work; for those of you just joining us with the launch of the game we are working towards a new weapon for the Berserker (the mace and shield), a new Zed (double bladed Gorefast), and a new map!

Looking ahead into next year, our production team is sorting out the roadmap for our intended content goals which includes: New Maps (both our own and community created ones taken official), New Weapons (for many if not all of the perks including some old favorites), New Zeds, New Boss (or potentially more) and New Game Modes, along with the return of the Seasonal Events from Killing Floor 1. Many of these items are in some sort of prototype or production already (one old favorite weapon and one soon to be new favorite are in early testing), so it is shaping up to be an exciting year ahead!

As an additional note for PC players who participated in our Early Access, we believe we have found a way to retroactively grant players the reward items. This will likely be part of our next update, but we will keep players informed via the support site and KB article on the subject.

One of the devs even hit me up on STEAM to thank me for supporting the game. Knew there was a reason I liked Tripwire. I didn't even beg for a Rising Storm 2 beta invite :p

Reading the Trello link: already knew that the game throws in more of them compared to earlier versions, but having Fleshpound / Scrake health not scale with player count at all anymore to compensate for this is such a stupid tweak. Their arrival is a non-event now with how quickly they're taken out by comparison (especially with max-level perks) without their damage output seemingly being increased either. They used to be a threat even in co-ordinated teams (without it being unfair) if you weren't careful, whereas now the devs went for an opposite extreme that didn't need to transpire in the first place from a balance perspective. The tension they created, especially on Hell on Earth, was fun and it shouldn't have been stripped out to such an extent.

Really hope Tripwire reverts this change, because most of the other rejiggering they did is a legitimately big improvement over previous recent-ish builds.

Played a few rounds with our fellow mcz117chief last evening. It is a pretty bad ass game and damn fun. Also played solo afterwards again and I still like support the most I think, dem shotties. Might dig into Firebug and Berserker too.

I have a lot of problems following where people are on the map though - I wish they would implement an optional aura for players, like L4D has.

Does the firebug get actually good when you level it a bit? It was my favourite class in 1 but I am having trouble being in any way effective in this game. The fire weapons seem to do minimal damage and the Zeds are hardly stunned or slowed by being on fire. I am really taking to the demolitionist so that might be my class of the game.

So Firebug is great for mobs, and can be very useful, (Firebug ruins Sirens) but fire does like zero damage to the largest enemies and bosses. Makes you depend on teamplay, which is frustrating in pub games.

At least at levels sub- 15...

I hope the old favorite weapon is the M32 for demolitions. Perk feels kinda shitty without it. But on the other hand it might be a little overpowered if we don't have to worry about clouds of dust ruining everyone's aim, lol.

every time I'm being swarmed by crawlers as a sharpshooter I wish there were more competent firebugs around. But I feel like I have to play certain classes to deal with bosses quickly, because other people right now just seem to panic shoot Scrakes/FPs the instant they see them and wipe the team.

They nerfed it and they will most likely find a way to re-buff it in the next update. Your main job is to kill the thinner weaker zeds, anything else is to be avoided as it's a waste of ammo.

Firebug is currently in a woeful state. There is nothing that Firebug does well over other classes currently. There is no reason to play Firebug.

Idk it's easily on par (if not better) with the best perks for crowd control because it has high potential AOE, but its weakness against Scrakes and FPs make it (you're right) a bad choice overall.

Randoms are bad at this game.

I don't play on the serious difficulties with randoms so it's more entertaining than frustrating. If KF had forced teamplay like L4D then that kind of thing would bug me more.

It does bug me a LITTLE more than it did in KF1 when people piss off scrakes and FPs before we're ready. They seem a lot more durable now. Or maybe I just need to level up Sharpshooter more.

Quick question if anyone knows - can the Railgun stun? I've been sticking to the EBR/crossbow but it's really hard to land bolt headshots when people make the aforementioned enemies go crazy right off the bat.

Also, with the perk that increases damage over time as you land consecutive headshots, could I for example headshot 5 things with the EBR then swap to a crossbow to take a Scrake's head off?

No it isn't. Not even close. Commando and SWAT wipe the absolute shit out of Firebug. High AOE means nothing if it can't clear one group without wasting an entire mag. Even worse is that two of the weapons that Firebug uses, MWG and Trench Gun don't even get direct benefits from most of FB's perks. It's an overall poorly designed class that needs to be completely redesigned.

It's straight up garbage and you'll get kicked out of higher level games playing Firebug at the moment.

Newb question: Should I be shooting the thing on a Fleshpound's chest, or avoiding shooting the thing on the Fleshpound's chest?

As a gamer, I'm conditioned to shoot glowing chest things, but it's not seeming to put them down quicker. Also, it seems to aggro them earlier, but I could just be crazy.

Chest shot will do extra damage, but you should always be aiming for the head. Head health is far less than body health on every Zed.

The funny part is it sounds like you're making this too hard. I use the stun skill and if you crossbow a scrake or fp in the head it tends to stun so then I go ham.

In your case lets says I kill 5 enemies with M14 with headshots before the scrake then I would quick switch and go for double headshot on the crossbow which will kill them once you start powering up. Just be quick or the 5x bonus will drop off. Don't forget 2 nades stun the fuckers. In general granted my teammates don't tick off fps or scrakes I'm already downing them with the bow. I don't waste time on the rail gun until boss, just a preference.

Add audacious predator on steam if you want pc games with me.
