Twin Peaks Season 3 |OT2| It's Just A Change, Not An End

Literally just started the pre-order soundtrack over and am on Shadow. But yeah the SVA is so incredible.

The music is almost a pastiche at this point but it really is such a remarkable part of the show.

You know what's odd about the music scenes? Its own consistancy with how it starts. At the beginning of this season, it just had the rain come down, the sign shows, and then the band is there. At episode 8, the announcer appears and is there from time to time. It's so odd how the Roadhouse scenes seems like it's own alternate reality from the show itself.

What is more likely in these final two episodes?

A) Chet Desmond disappearance explanation
or
B) Harry Truman appearance

Neither, although it's going to be really weird to not have Cooper say goodbye.

Him finding out his best bud died of cancer while he was gone might be the moment I finally lose it.

A.

I'd love to be wrong about Harry though. But I think people holding out hope for him, have their hopes as misplaced as those who had been hoping for Bowie to have shot new material.

I'm going with the former because they don't need the actor for an explanation, but my heart longs for both

Yeah this actually goes back to my complaints about the plot but I'll keep quiet until the end about it. I miss both that actor and Kiefer Sutherland not making an appearance.

I think the Agent Desmond namedrop in Ep. 12 is the only thing we're getting there. With everything we've learned this season, it's easy enough to fill in the blanks.

In episode 7, the scene with Beverly and Ben Horne with the hum,
are they refering to the fact that Josie is still trapped within the walls
? Because if so, that's really sad that that's still the case.

I think we figured this out in the previous thread. The hum is Mike.

My initial thought was Josie, too, but it doesn't look like S3 has any interest in any of the characters from the Packard Sawmill subplot.

So what you're saying is I should instead hold out hope that Harry doesn't actually have cancer, but has been slowly turning into a tea kettle?

I'm on board.

Just watched the last episode, the ending was too perfect.

For me the last 2 (or 3?) episodes have captured that Twin Peaksy feeling the best in the whole season, can't point my finger on the reason, just how I feel about it.

Harry mightn't die. I just don't think we'll see him.

Killing Harry off screen would be incredibly cold, especially after losing Lanterman in the show, and Coulson herself and a fair few others in real life. I don't see it happening.

I would love a cameo at the end, just being reunited with Coop for a few minutes would be glorious.

Damn, next episode is the finale? Double?

Well, I'm glad Cooper is FINALLY back, gonna be awesome next week.

I'm going to miss Bad Coop. I love his humour - he kinda reminds me of an alien in Men In Black doing a terrible job of faking human emotion.

Yeah, considering how the season has handled phone calls in other instances I think they would have had Ontkean voice the other side of the line during his calls if he was involved. Sure, it would ruin the surprise, but looking back at the announced cast list it doesn't look like they've been intending to have surprises of that kind anyway, right?

I re-watched the first two parts yesterday and had forgotten "You follow human behaviour perfectly."

What a line.

Surprises have all involved manipulation of old footage, or transforming characters into um... 'unique reimaginings' of themselves.

However, surely that leaves room for one surprise from an actor still alive? Ontkean, or even Pipe Laurie in some capacity would be great.

Its already probabaly my favorite season of a television show ever, maybe tied with season 1 of twin peaks. But if they nail these final 2 parts and the ending, itll stand apart.

I mean, I want to believe. But I'm sure as hell not getting my hopes up at this point!

The reality is, the guy just wasn't interested in being involved. That's the end of it really. Fuck knows why. The last thing of note they guy was in was the film the Descendents and that was 6 years back.

Believe!

Frank gets a call from a hospital that Harry has died. Then we'll see him in the Lodge :)
This surprise would be completely ruined had they shown his name in the cast list, so... Believe!

Don't get your hopes up.

I swear to God if Cooper gave us a thumbs up while saying "I am the FBI" I would've legit died.

Does anyone know if it would be possible to turn the sound effect that plays whenever Dougie is aided by MIKE (such as the casino scene) as a text sound for my phone? I would love to do so if possible, but don't know how.

An OT just for the finale. Nice.

The finale and the 100 page by next week aftermath

20 pages = "wut just happened"

50 pages = "Bravo. Wonderful series"

20 pages = "Psssh I've seen the premier, ducked out, came back at 16 and thought it all stank"

10 pages = Dougie quotes and gifs

You forgot the 30 pages of arguments on whether another season should happen or not

Goddammit guys I'd finally gotten over Harry not being in this season and then we have to talk about it again. I don't even want to know how Lynch handles Coop back in Twin Peaks without his best pal, but it pains me thinking about it.
