Gribble, not that your pictures aren't great, but we do have a photo thread that would probably be better for most of this sharing. A few pictures now and then are fine, but the OT is more focused on discussion than images.

You know, when a person puts more effort into revitalising a thread than the person who created it, the person who created it should be grateful. And I think you'll find my pictures are not my only contribution.

I meant no offense; you're a great contributor to the thread. But not everyone has a fast internet connection (including me); that's why the photo thread was created after all. But do what you'd like.

As for my contributions, I'm sure I'll post more when another update drops, which will hopefully be soon. I think we're coming up on three months since the last one.

Well that's fair enough then. Would it help if I put them in quotes?

What in the world is this thing? Do you have a pic of it while it was still alive? (I assume it's dead... I hope it's dead... if it was ever alive)

Resurrecting photo threads doesn't work, people only seem to be interested in those as long as the hype train is still rollin'. Right now GribbleGrunger would probably be the only person posting in it, which feels awkward as all hell.

Interesting. Some sort of ARG teasing a new expansion? Seems portals might be activated...wonder if this also ties in with the vehicles questline from the last update.

But really, cassette tapes? What hipsters!

What is it about this game that causes people to mess things up? It doesn't matter what Hello Games do, there are always ingrates that want to ruin there intentions. TWO mods are refusing to share the content of the tapes. These people have been singled out by Hello Games because they run the Reddit community and yet here we are, yet again, in a situation NOT of Hello Games making but being blamed on Hello Games by some people over at Reddit. These mods should have their powers revoked and sent packing. I'm sick of it.

And, no, they HAVE NOT received instructions not to share. They're doing it because they're self-centred ass holes.

Can someone please explain what this is about? Trying to figure out these Reddit threads makes my head hurt...

Thankfully a mod has made and excuse for some not sharing and has created a mega thread. 16 mods got 16 tapes (with swag) from Hello Games. Some have music on one side and noise on the other. A spectograph reveals numbers that look very similar to co-ordinates:

I'm not really defending the people that don't want to share the tapes because it's obviously a dick move, but I don't think it's that unexpected. It's exactly as you said, "It doesn't matter what Hello Games do...", because that ship has sailed, and it's probably a bit naive from Hello Games to think that making an ARG about their game and sharing it in this way with redditors would encourage a sense of fellowship and camaraderie. I would love for that to be the case, but I don't think NMS is big enough nor universally loved enough to make this function in a satisfactory way.

To be perfectly honest, my knee-jerk reaction to this tapes thing was "why would they even do that", and I've enjoyed NMS long enough to appreciate the good things about it and still consider myself a fan, even if I have big issues with the game. And it breaks my heart a little bit, because the cassette tapes ARG seems like a pretty cool thing, but to me it feels wasted and maybe not fully thought out.

I mean whatever, they'll probably release a new expansion in a few weeks or so anyway, regardless of the ARG and its outcome. If the whole Salomé sabotage thing can (so obviously) happen in an objectively larger game like Elite: Dangerous, I don't think it's unrealistic to expect people to screw things up for a very divisive and often hated title like NMS.

In any case, the cassettes are a cool thing but I'm frustrated that it does nothing for me (because it feels like something I'd be into), am happy for people that are enjoying it but it's both a shame and somewhat expected that others would like to ruin the fun.

edit: sorry, didn't see you already posted the spectrograph with the sequence 706s7274616p

I'm thinking the S stands for Star, and P for Planet. This is probably part of a coordinate to find a particular NMS planet. Perhaps one that will have an active portal?

Is now a good time to get into this game? as GS has it for $20. I haven't really paid attention to the game since launch, but that price is worth a look.

Always a good time, imho. That price is great. I suggest you read up on what you're getting though, given the toxic drama around the game. We've gotten some pretty substantial patch upgrades since the release, so the game is fleshed out a bit more than what we got at first, but it's got a long way to go (opinions, yay). We might be getting a new content patch soon too, given the strange ARG the devs are up to at the moment. 20 dollars is nothing, I'd go for it.

Can I explore the universe and not deal with too many graphical glitches? weird shit?

It runs good on reg PS4 the only real issue on reg is the frame rate drops when there's a lot of creatures roaming around. On PS4 Pro it's much better I have no idea on pc performance.

Sure, overall it's pretty well crafted, and there's very little weird shit going on to be honest. Unless if you count having flowers clipping through rocks, making it hard to scan/mine them :lol Surprisingly little jank in the core gameplay now that I think about it. Hard crashes are few and far between these days as far as I know. It's not a typical Greenlight or Early Access game when it comes to the quality of the actually present content in my opinion. There are varied opinions on the *amount* of content, but the quality of it is totally fine on its own.

I think the silliest thing they've had trouble fixing (I'm pretty sure they've said it's fixed when it's not) is grass clipping through the floor of your base at random times. Not that serious :)

The biggest problem I've seen with each of the big point release updates is that they don't fix all the bugs that they introduce. There are bugs from Foundation that were still there with Pathfinder, and still there today (I've reported some to them). It's annoying that they release a few bug patches after a point release and then just go silent. Also, some of the features they've introduced were obviously rushed to be implemented quickly and they weren't well thought out. Like the transporter that can only hold bookmarks to the last three systems you visit.

However, yes, the core of the gameplay and the graphics engine itself are pretty stable. For someone that likes the Minecraft style of base building, crafting, and exploration, there's a lot there.

My feeling is this Waking Titan ARG is leading up to a huge update, effectively No Man's Sky 2.0. But it's not a bad time to dive in now (especially if you can find it on sale), as I imagine they will add more to the story.

Has anyone noticed that the One Man's Lie site doesn't exist anymore? It was said to be a "resilient" archive of an "unpleasant deception". Which I always thought was deeply ironic.

So any news regarding the ARG?

Another puzzle opened up yesterday and it was solved, which resulted in a message stating that "package 9/16" was being sent out. Tape 9/16 is one of the NMS tapes that hasn't surfaced, so it seems like one of the NMS reddit mods will be getting a tape this week.

There's still three sigils to unlock and even more glyphs, and the next radio broadcast isn't until the 24th, so I think this will take a few more weeks before the ARG is done. But it's pretty clear now with a new tape being sent out that Waking Titan is an ARG for NMS, which was debatable before now. And whatever is coming, it's gotta be big enough to justify spending the money to hire the people running the ARG. I'm hoping whatever the update turns out to be includes a lot of new gameplay features and not just a new narrative.

I think I may dip back into the game and try to grind enough money to buy a freighter, as I suspect there will be a lot of new things to do in the game once the update drops and the last thing I'll want to be doing is shooting rocks with a laser.

Jumped back into this for the first time since launch. Tried the 'new' survival mode.

First impressions: Wow, this looks amazing in 4k with the PS4 Pro.
Second impressions: Wow, a ton has changed, hugely for the better.
Third impressions: Wow, I'm totally fucking lost!

Is there anywhere to read up on the major changes? I went through the patch logs but they weren't helpful at all - I didn't see anything about these new minerals I'm seeing, or about the new suit upgrades I apparently need etc.

I started survival mode 4 times and each time died as there was literally no plutonium on any of my starting planets - and I searched as efficiently as I could, scanning and scaling peaks. Is this a part of the survival challenge...? How are you supposed to work around having no Plutonium?

Secondly, is there any good guide to base building and vehicles? I have no idea where to even get started with those.

Some great photos in here, btw.

Here you go. And there's Platonium on every planet so you'll just have to search more thoroughly:

I posted these on Reddit so I'm hoping no one minds if I post them here too:

Survival Mode For Beginners (The First Planet Of Death)

1/ The first thing you will want to do is familiarise yourself with the menu system. Spend some time inside the shelter provided and check out all the options for crafting you have at your disposal. This will save your life. Don't wait until you're out there in the cruel world to try and find out what you need to do. YOU WILL DIE!

2/ Speaking of 'death', remember, on dying, everything in your suit will be lost if you die on a planet and everything in your space craft will be lost if you die in space, so IF push comes to shove, transfer accordingly. Make sure you at least benefit a little from your first forays into the wilderness. And always have a soft, large cushion to throw your joypad at.

2a/
Before you follow what I've suggested below, just check what sort of building you're next to.If it's sizeable building and not just a simple shelter, you might have been lucky enough to spawn near a 'landing node' which is red and silver, or better still, a landing pad. Just have a quick look around the building to see if you have indeed been that lucky, because if you have, it will save you 'The Walk'. In conjunction with a 'Bypass chip', this will allow you to call your ship from a distance. All you'll have to do is fix the thrusters and use the Bypass chip! HELLO SPACECRAFT.

3/ From the comfort of said shelter, pop out and gather a stack of iron and a stack of carbon. Fix your visor and your scanner with these and then replenish those stacks. These will aid you greatly in finding the resources you'll need once you venture out.

4/ Don't use your mining tool to find out what resources are, just point it at the desired resource instead. Filling slots with unnecessary things will hinder and confuse you. Only Zinc, Thamium, Heridium, Platinum and Plutonium are needed to begin with. Carbon and Iron are plentiful so don't worry too much about those. Don't bother with opening the rectangular, green boxes just yet. Keep your slots available for necessary things.

5/ Caves and shelters are your friends. You will need a lot of iron to fuel the pulse drive, fill your ship's shield and build carite sheets. While inside a cave, mine for iron and build from there, either in your ship or in your suit (and then send them to your ship were they stack up to 5). Mining in caves is the best way of getting the iron required BUT remember, some caves don't have much carbon, if any, so ALWAYS keep your stack of carbon high for such occasions. Meleeing iron and carbon isn't fun ... Oh, and don't move while mining, let the mining tool do the work because you're depleting your life support without the need.

5a/ Speaking of caves, I feel I need to add one more piece of advice here in order to save you from yourself. You're in a cave, your hazard protection isn't going down and you feel oh so cosy. This is wonderful! It's lit up like Santa's Grotto, with maybe just a few annoying crabs but compared to the surface it's relatively safe. You have all the iron you need, perhaps plenty of carbon too and if you search a little, there's also Plutonium. RESULT! At this point you decide to scan for resources and little tempting icons appear everywhere. An idea pops into your beginners brain: 'If I continue through this cave I could probably make it a good way to my ship without the need to suffer the hazards on the surface'. Douse that voice, as you would a raving lunatic, with an ice cold bucket of reality, because as you dive deeper into the warren of convoluted, winding tunnels, you may start noticing the skeletons of dozens of unfortunate adventurers who had exactly the same idea. Once you're down there, you could be down there FOREVER. Save exploration for much later when you have the photon cannon, a useful item that will allow you to blow a tunnel to freedom, or even make yourself a makeshift mini cave in times of need. Put that little gem out of your head though. Save it for later.

6/ Assess what is available and play accordingly. If there is lots of Thamium then running is no problem and filling your life support isn't either, but if it's scarce, WALK. You will notice little white arrows to the right of your life support. This indicates how fast you're losing it. Walking reduces it by one, running reduces it by two and jetpacking reduces it by three. This can vary slightly on planets with high gravity but don't worry about that just yet.

6a/ Zink replenishes your hazard protection but it's also a resource you'll need for fixing your ship. I would advise only ever using it for your life support if you REALLY, DESPERATELY need to. This is were your familiarity with the menu system and what you can craft comes in handy. Platinum + iron will craft you a plate (for hazard protection) while Plutonium + carbon will craft you gel (for life support). Remember though, Thamium is your better option for life support if Plutonium is rare because Plutonium is required to fill your thrusters in order to take off. Zink can also be obtained from killing Sentinels but that's something best left alone unless you are struggling to find Zink in the wilds.

6b/ If you can, try to get just a little extra Plutonium. It's the one resource you'll burn through quickly in Survival and it's the one resource the lack of will leave you stranded for certain. If you're lucky enough to have two stacks during 'The Walk' send one to your ship and keep one handy on your suit just in case you need to make cells. In general, always try to make sure you have a full stack of everything. Never just mine what you think you need only to find later you didn't mine enough. This is a common mistake a lot of people make when mining Heridium too. Check those menus!

7/ At some point a little blue/purple icon will appear. It's shaped like a bottle. This is Heridium and a resource you'll need to finally lift off. This is where the game plays tricks with you. It's not happy just throwing Sentinals, aggressive creatures and bad whether your way, it will deliberately lead you astray. IGNORE that icon. You will find Heridium on the way to your ship or nearby your ship. It's a fat tower of blue/purple with a rounded top. You cannot miss it. And remember, you can make caves out of such materials and so have a little cave in which to farm away from the whether. Sentinels will let you mine this to your hearts content so don't worry about them when mining these types of materials, unless you're unfortunate enough to spawn on a planet with aggressive Sentinels.

8/ So, you've reached your ship, by running or ducking from cave to cave, have accepted the Atlas Path (advised) and searched the debris for everything available. Your ship should be more or less ready to go but for maybe a couple of things you couldn't quite fulfil on the way there. Take your time ... don't rush ... finish up, and take off. DON'T LEAVE THE PLANET YET.

9/ Scout the planet for a while and look for outposts or any other building with a 'free' landing area. These come in the form of a landing pad or a little red and silver nodule sticking out of the ground by the desired building (photo mode will help you find this little helper so don't neglect it). They're not always there though, so unless Plutonium is easily available, don't land there. These also come in handy for calling your ship, and because you spent some time earlier with familiarising yourself with the menu system and what you can craft, you will understand you'll need to make a Bypass chip from iron.

10/ You've taken your first steps, survived the hardest part of Survival so congratulations. But don't relax just yet. If you find a trading post then spend some time making a little early cash because now you CAN afford to open everything, to sell it (for now). Each race requires specific things to up your relationship with them and how good your relationship is with them decides how good the upgrades they sell you are. And also take your time to get your first 'milestone': Every creature found on the planet. Milestones are important, as you'll find out later but I don't want to spoil things here.

Hope that helps.

Addenda: Always jump in and out of your ship before moving on. This will create an auto save. Crashes are still a thing occasionally and you can lose a lot of progress.

Survival Mode For Beginners Part 2 (Leaving The planet of death)

1/ So, you've followed what I said in the first part, more or less to the letter. ... You've got your first Milestone, sold a bunch of stuff, grabbed as much Nanite as you can muster and want to discover another one or two of the 18 quintillion planets. There are a few things to consider before rocketing skyward into the blackness or pinkness or blueness or redness or ... well you get the idea. One thing you must do immediately is put out of your mind anything you've already seen on streams because nothing will frustrate you more than seeing a goal that is far out of your reach to begin with. Baby steps are the order of the day and as long as you embrace that idea, frustration won't rear it's ugly head.

2/ There are pirates out there, they 'aint' friendly and your ship is essentially a bucket with a pea-shooter. Don't even consider taking these scoundrels on, but just in case you have no option and have to attempt the impossible, make sure you have at least two full stacks of iron in you ships inventory. These are for your shields. Get used to the quick access menu by pushing down on the D-pad, although I'm sure you're familiar with it by now. You can mine for iron whilst in space (amongst other materials) but in the heat of battle it will be of no help whatsoever. 'Be prepared'.

2a/ 'Generally speaking' (I say that deliberately because this isn't always the case), the number of pirates that attack you correlates with the worth of the cargo you are carrying, so it's a good idea to sell what you can on the planet and not try dragging those 5 stacks of gold to the space station. Remember, wealth doesn't determine how often you are attacked but rather by how many. And trust me, taking on one or two pirates and not five or six is a lot easier ...

3/ So how do you avoid these pirates? They're random and you're sometimes a long way from salvation, be it a space station, planet or Anomaly (keep your eye out for this). Good things come to those who complete the milestones. Take a close look at the dashboard of your space bucket. To the left of centre you'll see a panel with a circular indicator. Get into the habit of flicking your eyes to that regularly because this is going to save you a LOT of heartache. 20 seconds before the pirates scan you, this begins to fill up, and then once it's filled and you've been scanned you have 10 seconds to take evasive action. This 30 seconds is sometimes all you'll need to prevent disaster.

4/ It's tempting isn't it? There's the space station floating in nothingness and it's so serene, quiet and inviting out there. The instructions have just told you to hold R1/L1 and suddenly you're shooting towards your destination, the thrill of speed intoxicating, wiping any sense of danger from your virginal space-travellers brain. You don't even hear the metallic female voice intone 'Threat Detected' and just carry on with a grin on your soon to be dead face. This isn't fun, space cadet, this is serious business for serious people ... seriously. Fight that urge to just 'go for it'.

5/ Don't go straight to your desired destination unless it's close enough. The order of the day here is a spot of planet or moon hopping, which is simply aiming towards a heavenly body a shorter distance from your destination but on the way there. It may seem a little counter-productive to veer off at a tangent but not as counter-productive as death and the loss of all the baubles you've gathered, if you're not quick enough to transfer them over to your suit, which you've got plenty of room for because you didn't just pick everything up and fill your suit with unnecessary things ... right?

6/ Here you are, happily hopping from potential safety to potential safety, comfortable in the knowledge you can take evasive actions, but what the heck IS this evasive action? What does it even mean? Back to the circular indicator on your ship's panel. Remember once that fills up, you will be immediately scanned and then you have 10 seconds to 'get outa there.' Providing you're planet hopping, have been keeping an eye on that circular indicator and don't panic when you're scanned for the first time, you should be within reach of a planets atmosphere (or space station if you're going to a planet). Entering that atmosphere will trigger a 'scan failed' and you can safely zoom back up into space and continue your journey, and now you have a decent amount of time before you're scanned again. Don't take it for granted though, remember you've just started the game and you're in a bucket with a pea-shooter.

7/ Taking what I've said in 6 into consideration, there's a little trick you can do to give yourself extra time. It takes some patience but it's worth it if you want to feel extra safe. You've seen the 20 second warning and know you're only 5 - 10 seconds from the spacestation or planet. You've got plenty of time! No need to worry, were done here. But let's say the planet you want to get to is on its lonesome with no planet hopping opportunities. What do you do then? Throw caution to the wind and blast off? You could do that ... OR, you could hang around a planets atmosphere or space station mining iron while you wait for that circular indicator to appear, watch it count down and then on being scanned enter the space station or planets atmosphere. Now you have as much time as the game can allow for you to aim for that distant planet.

8/ None of the above came into play, I did everything suggested and still got attacked by pirates 100 times more powerful than me. Help! This is it, your worse nightmare. You're not used to controlling the ship, your pea-shooter is doing very little damage, while one shot from these pirates is nearly wiping out your full shield. Remember those two stacks of iron? Remember that quick menu? Are you a quitter, cadet? Are you going to do what lots of people do and just resign yourself to death? No, cadet, you're not! You're going to shoot a few blasts, D-pad down, refill, shoot a few blasts, D-pad down, refill. You're not going to wait until the shield is empty, you're going to assume it is and fill, fill, fill while at the same time beating these blighters one small chip at a time. I'd also recommend using your phase beam for this. It has an auto lock on which helps with stress levels.

So good luck, and enjoy the music when entering the space station for the first time. ;) It's awesome.

So the ARG motivated me to update my game and take another look. I go to my base and most of it is gone; my Vy'keen guy is gone and my farm is gone. I thought that maybe I relocated them to my freighter before and just didn't remember? But no, freighter is gone too; there's no option to summon it and it's not in orbit around the planet.

No way that I'm farming the materials and credits for all that again, so I guess that's it for me and this game.

No cloud save?

You could always go creative.

For whatever reason the "load oldest save option" is a save from last year although I know I played more recently; the cloud save is from around the same time. But I found a USB drive from when I transferred some saves to my PS4 Pro earlier this year and sure enough, there was a save from a later date. Still not the latest but at least I have a base and a freighter, although most of my farm is not there. It looks like mordite/lubricant got nerfed anyway so not that much of a loss.

Annoying, but at least I can keep playing. It seems kind of weird that the game would revert back to such an old save file though.

sort of LTTP (both the pre-release hype and the release) but maybe that also afforded me a different set of expectations

whatever it is, I just started playing NMS (and learning basically anything about it) about 2 weeks ago. and I think I can understand why the game would have been received differently at release.

but at least for me, starting the game now and only ever having tried/learning the game on Permadeath mode with the added Survival difficulty, and the game is probably the best 'survival' game I've played on consoles in a very long time, and also one of the best permadeath game.

i could see that without added difficulty and permadeath, and without base building, I'd probably feel pretty aimless.

but those two changes have made NMS pretty awesome for me because:

- it transforms the risk/reward of the gameplay pretty dramatically I think...
- - the survival elements, scavenging resources, protecting yourself from elements, even the simple risk/reward of... shooting I tried pulse to that planet if it's 1:30m away? should I really try even land on this planet by that new crashed ship without enough zinc or plutonium... what if its aggressive? survival my first planet and finally reaching my ship was a pretty amazing experience, and damn have I had some stressful close calls with my first encounters with pirates, storms, aggressive animals, and landing my starship right in front of a hidden cave hole -_-

- it can give you a sense of place

- - I can imagine aimlessly warping between randomly generated systems before and eventually getting bored and feeling aimless. but with base building, at least if you're a Minecraft style player, suddenly you have a home, a backyard, a sense of attachment. I've basically stayed within a base Warp Drive range of my starter planet the whole time. I know the local NPCs, like Exporter Tobradilbra or Mining Overseer Yobrada, I remember by [geographical] sight how to fly to the local trading post 2m away from my home base or even the location of my first crashed ship 5m away; I remember the name of the NPC I bought my second ship from after I got a freighter (thanks Broker Uul); I remember the names and the general geography around my 'trading post beacons' on my top 4 favorite systems nearby, the names of the pilots of the coolest systems in those systems, where the gold is nearby local trading posts...

Those are all sort of random mundane details but the point is, the game sort has become a survival permadeath Minecraft-in-space for me... I spend all my timing mining and building, or exploring for better places to mine, cooler desert planets to mine on, and in general basically the same things I do in Minecraft. And I genuinely feel I have a home, an 'attached' home in the same way you do in Minecraft. Even more so because I have attached to a much bigger local geography, local planets and systems, local fauna, even local NPCs, the colour of the sky in certain systems (I found 2 with the most amazing vibrant orange, another with this amazing red/pink and a desert moon where the entire horizon is basically just either the red sky or the red planet the moon revolves around).

I'm not sure that changes NMS for everyone. I'm not even sure what most people expected or would want from the game. No idea. I think it would be torn, too, if I was already 500 hours into NMS and then they patched in permadeath and survival -- it would be pretty hard to restart. It's been an awesome experience but I'm not sure I'd want to restart.

But at least for someone brand new to the game, zero expectations or hype, every single part of the game being new, NMS permadeath is probably the best survival game or exploration game I've played in a long time, and the base building and mining elements have basically made it like a sort of Minecraft-in-space for me.

So I played a bit over the weekend after working out (mostly) the save issue. The new additions are pretty cool, and a few things that were just a painful slog before (rigogen farming) is now a lot faster and actually kind of fun with the Nomad. My mordite farm is useless now but I'm replacing it with an albumen pearl and nip nip farm.

I can't figure out the ship class thing though. My old ship, which is now a class C fighter with no bonuses, still tears through pirates easily even though dogfighting still isn't very well implemented. I'm not sure why I should bother getting the money to get fully loaded class A or S ship.

It's cool that they're still adding this content though. At least now I know to backup my save before the next update.... who knows what they'll change and/or break.

I mean, I haven't played since too long after Foundation, but Mordite was nerfed a tad. It's still "fine" if you're set up, but there are better things to farm now.

I really hope the trading economy is completely revamped with this big update.

- Every system should have its own prices for everything. "Galactic Average" should be a guide, not a default value.
- Get rid of selling items to terminals (which made no sense anyway). You can only sell to NPC ship and station traders. This also makes ships landing at your base serve a purpose. Allow auto-trading rules to be set up so your base staff can buy and sell when certain price objectives are met.
- Because you can only sell to NPC traders, prices for your goods in each system should be based on the needs of each trader -- how far their trade route is for this item, how much stock they have, how much in demand the item by buyers in their trade route.
- Events like pirate attacks on freighters or refineries should increase the local scarcity of those items, thus raising the price.
- Systems rich in element X should buy that element for a very low price due to over-supply. This however depends on how many mining operations are happening (I'd love to see NPCs actually mine and farm on planets as players do).

I hope they let us claim as many planets as we want the last update introduced more structures to build but there's still a limit on how much you can use. There's absolutely no point in adding more structures if you can't add them to the base. I would definitely spend much more time playing if I could build on as many planets as I wanted and being able to teleport between them.

What do you mean by mordite being useless? Did they nerf it again??

I haven't played since prior to the Pathfinder update. But prior to it my mordite farm netted a little over a million units on single crop, last night it netted around 300k units. Mordite and lubricant is a waste of time now.

are deleting AMUs and getting the resources back bugged? I've run into the 'Inventory Full' bug a few times... seems to be related to if I mine the resource deposit the AMU is on. they work fine but soon as I mine a bunch of that unit, anytime I try loot it (empty inventory) it says "Inventory Full." Come back later when the deposit is fully restored/respawned, and they work fine.

if I try delete the AMU, and my inventory has only 2 spots free, it says Inventory Full... as if it were trying to put resources back into my inv. but if my inventory is empty, when I delete the AMU, nothing goes into it (I've tried both when the AMU 'looting' is bugged and not bugged.. tried in quite a few scenarios, which is how I figured out how the looting bug seems to work).... so, did deleting a AMU ever return half the resources used? is there a work around?

I also learned the hard way the Crashed Ships stay indefinitely if you never 'take ownership' but if you take ownership to scrap the mods, then switch back your original ship, but leave it there to come back later, it'll despawn :( should have never tried to scrap that A class Fighter q_q i was always hoping to re-find my original starter Rasmussin (sp*) ship (I know it was somewhere within 5 minutes of my homebase lol) and take 'er back to my freighter too but i guess it's gone forever hhhh
I really hope the trading economy is completely revamped with this big update.

Sort of an aside, but about 150 hours into the game now, and one of the oddest things to me is the price of plutonium hhh you'd think it'd be like 500 or 1000 each after probably buying 10,000 units non stop over >50 space station visits ;p

or zinc and titanium, for that matter ...at least on permadeath where I constantly stock the shit out of it so I never fly anywhere without a couple stacks just in case. electron vapour and suspension fluid is priced pretty weird too... 40k and 20k respectively and yet the latter requires 50 carbon -_- and only sells for a few hundred units lol who's buying suspension fluid at that price that the galactic average is 20k :D

Hello! I got this in the Steam sale. Went from system A to B on the Atlas path. Decided to set up a base on a planet with blue grass to see what I can do.

Also found a fuck tonne of gold, so assuming I really need bin that off on the planet if I can according to the previous pages.

Out of curiosity - what mods are you using PC Gaf? I'd be interested in giving the pretties of the game a buff if the chance arises. Not looking to remove the visual effects like CA and whatnot. I kind of like all that stuff.

I got the game about a week ago, I'm really glad Hello Games is still working on it, and I'm a bit surprised that this is the game after 2 content updates, couldn't imagine what the vanilla must have been like.

I'm enjoying it for the most part, but it has some frustrating issues, you can tell a small team worked on it, but it's amazingly ambitious and they did a decent job for what it is. I'm glad I started it now, and stoked about the update.

I hope they add a dynamic HUD like HZD and allow us to select the waypoints that show on the HUD. The UI can be frustrating, but I think I'm going to loose a lot of hours to this game.
I really hope some cool endgame is added, it would be a waste to not take advantage of the mysterious sense of discovery and immersion in a alternate universe this game creates.
