Tales of Symphonia: KoR, Mario Kart Wii scans #1

I didn't see it posted anywhere.

Mario Kart

Tales of Symphonia: KoR

Courtesy of the dreaded Go Nintendo.

I really like the look of the new characters in the KoR scan - probably my favorite designs in the game so far.

It's g0nintendo man, banned site.

I was waiting for someone to post this, because I can't figure out whether or not this pushes ToS: KoR's permanant character up to 4 (5?) or not. :-\ There's enough characters in the damn game already I think

Hm... I thought for a second that those two new guys in the ToS scan would be new playable characters, but it seems they're just enemies (look at the party members listed in the battle screens that show them)...

Good catch, I didn't notice that. Then again, isn't Lloyd technically an enemy for a while, as well as Sheena being one in the first game, etc. They may become a part of the party eventually.

Thank God they added another ditsy female though, you never see those in anime-inspired games these days.

I thought maybe it is like, the characters on the right of the artwork may only join your party on for a limited amount of time? WHile the others stay with you all the time?

Awesome artwork für ToS btw.

ToS: KoR sure has come a ways from the first screens that we thought were from a PSP game.

Going by that SNES Mario Circuit (is that 3 or 4?) screenshot with the coins, it looks like missions return from the DS version.

Seeing those screens of MK Wii's online mode is actually getting me excited for the game.

I don't know why, but I was feeling totally apathetic towards it.

Hope it's not the missions but the good old coins that for example Mario Kart Super Circuit had. You had to get about 30 coins, finish first place, ace time and then you get five stars or something :) I loved it.

More g0nintendo infos, on Mario Kart:

Quote:
- 12 player online

- friends or random players

- local or worldwide

- Ability to check if friends are online

- special events to participate in. These events will change over time.

Sounds like it'll be pretty cool.

Well actually the Nintendo Power article or some other recent info said that there's only two permanent human members (the guy and girl), and the others are temporary. But God damn, counting the first games reappearing characters, that pushes us into what, over 10 characters which are just temporary? Sounds kind of lame :(

For the curious, the four screens at the bottom of the MK scan are all in the "Mario Kart Channel" section, so that's an actual look at the channel the game can install. It's curious that the coin race screen is also in that section, though...

I think we already knew all that: http://wii.ign.com/articles/849/849925p1.html

Quote:
The Wii installment of the cart racer that started it all looks like it's going to have lots of variety. Famitsu reveals a total of 32 courses, with 16 remakes of old courses, and 16 completely new courses. New courses include Mario Circuit, Momo Country, Kinopio Factory, DK Snowboard Cross, Coconuts Mall, Kinoko Canyon, and Luigi Circuit.

Some of these courses will put a new feature of the karts to use: mid-air tricks! Karts and bikes are both capable of performing actions and tricks in the air. Get a trick just right, and your cart will perform a dash upon landing.

In addition to a ton of content, Mario Kart Wii will have some serious multiplayer options. The game will include Wi-Fi based play for up to 12 players. You'll be able to select to play against players from throughout the world, players in your country, and players on your friend list.

As part of the new network mode, Nintendo will be making use of the Wii's Channel interface in yet another unique way. We're not sure of the specifics, but it seems that you'll be able to install a Mario Kart Channel to your Wii hub to view world rankings as well as your own records.

Going along with the Wi-Fi multiplayer play, Nintendo will be giving players a means of customizing the game. You'll be able to make your very own Mii ride a bike or kart, adding that bit of you to online races.

The online mode will also expand the single player fun. The game will offer downloadable ghost data, so you can play against some of the best players.

Not big on the whole internet thing? In addition to the Wi-Fi play, the game will also let players play together the old fashioned way: through split screen for up to four.

There's nothing about the special events there though. I don't know, I was just posting the news they posted as it was a translation of the scan in this thread, I haven't followed the game that closely.

EDIT: Hey cool, racing against others' ghost data. Sounds awesome

Can you play 12 people locally via LAN? That'd be pretty cool. Double Dash had something pretty darn similar.

It feels strange to actually like the character designs for all seven human(/oid) characters on the cover art--if that's going to be the cover art in the first place, anyway. Or at least I think I like this new girl. I'll have to see more of her outfit from different angles; it looks kind of strange, like an overcoat with only one button--well--buttoned, hanging over shorts and I don't know whether that pink thing is a shirt or blouse or what. The hat's nice, though.

Yeah, also Regal in the first game. And then there's Kratos starting off good and fighting you later, and Zelos in the non-canonical ending. Half the team hated you at some point or other in ToS.

But we don't know her personality yet. Maybe her cheerful demeanor masks the heart of an animal-abusing murderer, or something.

Yeah, it's really starting to annoy me thinking of this. :/ I'm hoping NP just misunderstood the info they were given, or simply extrapolated more conclusions than they should have. Really hoping.
