I'm not quite sure if this is the right thread, but I didn't see a general PSN OT or a regular PS4 one that is used often.

I'm in a really bad situation here and I was wondering if you guys had any tips.

A couple days ago I got an email from sony saying I had 24 hours to change my password, no big deal, I did that. Sometime after that I noticed that 20-30 games were regularly being downloaded to my console - it didn't make sense. I didn't ask for any of these games to download. I brushed it off. It kept happening that same day though - so I decided to go onto my PSN account change my password and enable 2FA just to be safe. I thought I was in the clear - I wasn't. I recently got the PRO and went to deactivate my PSN on my old ps4, when I found out that it was already deactivated which made me alarmed as I didn't deactivate it yet.

This prompted me to go onto the sony site and see if my account was activated on any consoles - and it was. A console I never activated it on. No problem right? I went to the deactivate all button and it said it was recently used, this is when I put the pieces of the puzzle together. The email was shady, and after investigating it some more it was a phishing email and I'm an idiot for falling for it. They had my email and password, deactivated my PSN on all systems locking me out from deactivating them, and had access to all my games.

I'm pretty much fucked. You can only use that button every 6 months or so, so I decided I'd give sony's customer support a shot. The first time I got some indian lady and I repeated my story to her. She said that it shows my PS4 was deactivated on jan 14th, same day I entered my info into that email, I told her then that I didn't do that. She said there was nothing she could do but she sent me an email with the following form for console deactivation: https://scea.secure.force.com/ConsoleDeactivation/ after that I hung up the phone feeling defeated and filled the form out/submitted it.

I decided to call again hoping maybe I can get someone else who can escalate me to an actual sony employee with authority to deactivate my PSN. The guy said the same spiel as the lady, and that they receive requests like this all the time and there is a department for it - he told me to fill out the forum the lady sent me, and a specialist would look it over and deactivate my account.

I'm basically out of luck, either wait 6 months or hope they will deactivate my PSN on all systems when they read my request. I asked him what if they decide not to after reading my request? He said "Sir, if your account was comprised like you said then you have no worries and we will understand). He said I have to wait about 24 hours.

I'm not sure what else to do but wait, but I wanted to post this here to see if anyone else dealt w/ this before.

I would make a thread but I'm a junior, so I figured this thread would be the best place to post it.

It stays that way throughout, really. You either get sucked in by the characters and settings or you don't. I love it, but it's very slow.



Btw, I started playing Tomb Raider (PS1) recently for the first time ever. I dabbled with the series playing Tomb Raider II and Chronicles back in the day.

Omg, this is one hell of an experience.

They were glorious back in the day. They felt so big and mysterious. Can't wait until you hit some of the later ones... Truly awesome.

They definitely can be. They don't make them like that anymore. What did you think of the previous level, St Francis Folly? One of my favourite levels in the series that. When you first enter the main room at the top it's one of those wow moments. Feels so daunting.

The level after the one you're on is one of my favourites too and has a similar challenge room type structure to it. And when you figure out the solution to the core puzzle of this stage, it's such a cool feeling.

Yeah, there's definitely a great sense of mystery in exploring all these places. Glad to hear it gets better later on too!

I loved St. Francis Folly. My favourite of the levels I've played so far. That central tower with the rooms of was perfect for me - it was big but not so overwhelming that I couldn't figure things out, I liked the challenge of navigating up back to the top and then all the way back down to the bottom too. Having Pierre appear out of the blue and start shooting at you was a nice touch too.

Trying to buy the DMC hd collection for ps3 through the psn app, but it wont let me finalize, keeps asking my pass even though i entered it correctly.
Is this a known bug? Both phone and pc give me this bug.

That is odd.......

My guess is try to purchase it tomorrow (as this is part of the flash sale I imagine; will still run then) or turn off your PS3 and try to get it again.

Maybe you could get it through the PS3 PSN Store or something....

I have a question regarding the message that appeared in my mobile PSN app download list.

Prepare order payment failed.

I get that message for RE7 Deluxe and Yakuza Zero. Please note that everything is paid using psn cash card and the wallet balance is correct. I preordered RE7 last year and Yakuza 0 on 20 Jan.

i am able to preload both games.

Any advise on what to do?

Been so busy with things on my end (College starting again, my writing work on a few sites, personal matters) that I haven't been able to update this thread often.

I will try to make it more active and I hope the Feb. PSN Thread is much more active on my end.

So, I'm about 15 hours into Operation Abyss.

Really didn't like the game at first. Seemed obtuse and difficult to get into. But it's really grown on me. I'm actually enjoying playing it over Trails of Cold Steel at the moment.

Dunno why. It feels cheaply made with random difficulty spikes; the story is almost non-existent and the art isn't fantastic. But there's just something addictive about it.

And to provide an update on the other game I'm playing (since it's pretty dead in here)

I just finished level 9(?) in Tomb Raider. Someone's tomb. It was amazing. Showdown with Pierre and those Centaurs that came to life scared the shit out of me.

This game really is something else. It might frustrate the hell out of me at times, but it's just so much fun to play.

I've been very busy lately doing a lot of writing for Brash Games, LatestVitaGames and 3WIREL (plus college starting again), which is why I wasn't able to post much (if not at all in this thread).

No idea if anyone can help with this, but it's worth a shot.

I've placed an order on Buygame2 for Tales of Innocence R. I'd previously ordered from them before (Oreshika) and had no issues.

However, despite saying they've got 1 in stock, the order now says "postponed" and I got this e-mail:

We apologized that your order has not yet been processed due to lack of stocks, therefore, we need extra time to ready it for you.

We will confirm your order once we have stocks on hand.

If you do not want to wait, you can amend or cancel your order by Enquiry Form.

Sounds to me like they don't have any in stock, but I'm not sure how they're gonna get a new non-budget copy of a 2012 RPG.

Should I just go ahead and cancel my order? Problem is I paid partially with PayPal and partially with debit card and I don't really want to get refunded fully through PayPal.

So I was downloading Yakuza 0 and started the game early after it was at the point were it could be started. But while playing I reached the point were additional files were missing and a progress bar ingame showed up.

How can I now continue the full download in PSN?

In the Downloads tab Yakuza shows up as finished and I only get the option to start the game. I don't want to run the game the whole time the missing content takes to download, esp since I don't know if it will only load the currently needed part (it says downloading Part 7 ingame) or the whole game.

Any ideas?

Firstly, sorry for not answering this right away. I don't know much about shipping, but if the order is not getting processed, try contacting them again and see what they can do to help with your situation.

Mmm.....I would recommend erasing the game of your hard drive and try to download it again. Maybe the second time you download it, all the files will be working correctly. Sometimes files get corrupted and just don't work, so removing them and getting 'fresh' files might help the issue.

Well... the files aren't corrupt. I used the feature to launch the game while downloading and now I'm looking for a command to download the remaining missing files without having to run the game. There has to be an option to download it in the OS too, no?

Deleting all would be a pain since PSN is so slow... ugh. On Steam I load 20GB in 2 hours, PSN tells me it will take 15-20 hours. Same LAN. Download starts fast and gets constantly slower.

Well... I'm at work now and just started and paused the game this morning.
Hope it is still downloading.

Usually the download section only shows the status on the required size needed to launch the game. If you go into your system settings and look at application files (sorry the wording is a little off) it should show the full size of the game and how much is left to download.

I've just finished Dishonored (really loved it despite not being into the genre), now I'm almost at the end of Assassin's Creed 1, which is awful to play especially after playing AC2,Brotherhood and Revelations, and I'm at chapter 7 in Spec Ops, which I'm really enjoying on the other hand.

I don't know what to play next. I'm gonna play 2 games at once, maybe I'll start Dead Space and The Darkness, but I have something like 40 games to choose from

I'm sorry the thread is dead but I've been so busy doing things (writing content for various sites, personal matters with college, recent events, etc) that I honesty have been very distracted. So I wasn't able to do much for my first run making the PSN Thread. I will try harder next month to ensure this is a more lively thread. Good on you for playing a lot of quality PS3 games :). Heard great things about Spec Ops, Dead Space and The Darkness; great games.

Hey fellas, my launch ps4 has been sounding like a leaf blower for the past couple of years. Never truly bothered me as I primarily play on PC but im playing Yakuza 0 rn and I cannot stand it. Any advice? I don't have warranty on it anymore but should I take it in some place?

My recommendation (if you didn't do this already) is to take a cue-tip and clean inside the vents with the system turned off. Maybe that can help the fans get more ventilation. You could also put the PS4 in a more spacious location to the fans can have more room to breath.

Otherwise, not sure what I can recommend for you sadly.

However, it turns out that the payment went through for all of my attempts and yearly subscriptions quickly adds upp and costs a lot of money.

How do I get a refund for the six years that I can't afford?!

I have no idea but contacting Sony for support does work out well. Visit the PlayStation Support site and try to contact them for help. Also call your credit card holder and ask them to freeze the payment.

Quick question for anyone that could help me out..

Over the last few months, I keep receiving an email saying ''Password Change Notification'' and to change my password for your Sony Entertainment Network Account.

Is this routine for Sony to send out if I haven't changed my password for ages, or is someone trying to hack my account?

Agreed, that's terrible advice, you'll end up with your account banned and sony insisting that if you want it back you have to go buy PSN credit codes to repay them.

Your best bet is just to find the number for their phone support (don't do the online support, that's lousy) and explain the problem to them. If you're lucky you'll get someone who understands that it was due to a technical fault of sorts, and will be willing to make a "one time only gesture of goodwill" (or however they phrase that) and refund the extra years. Or at least some of them.
If you're unlucky, try again and hope to get someone more helpful.

Thank you for your tips. I have contacted them through mail but they haven't answered me yet. I don't find any number to call the Swedish support so now I guess I just wait for them to reply to my mail :|
