Time of day shouldn't really make any difference, but I did catch it at night. Its one of (if not THE) rarest fish in the game though so its gonna take a while to get. I feel lucky I got it fairly quick, then again after the Dragon and Tiger grind I was kind of owed that!

I hate the dacing mini game, HATE IT. I can't for the life of me play rhythm games.
I'm really pissed that I probably won't be able to complete the substories this time and fight Amon.

2 sets of side stories feature the dancing game (6 side stories in total - 3 for Kiryu and 3 for Majima). And the final dance off of each isn't exactly a push over unfortunately

I personally enjoyed the mini game, but I can totally understand the frustration since it does lock out both bonus Amon fights for anyone that can't clear them.

Some people are just not that rhythmical, me included. Only took a handful of tries for the substory though. Don't know if I will manage the 3star ones for completion.

If you can clear all 6 dancing side stories you can 3 star all the songs. The last dancing side mission for each character is way harder than 3 staring songs, which is fairly lenient in its scoring (in my opinion). Its just a matter of learning the sweet spot for hitting notes, and the songs to get the basic beat down.

It was the opposite for me. I did all the substories in 1 or 2 tries. But man some songs on hard were kinda hard. I spent a lot of time on getting the max rating.

For the substories, don't pick easy... I almost got a perfect on easy and the IA still beat me. While in normal they make a lot of mistake, you can win by a large margin.

The dance battle against Ogita was pretty tough (Didn't have too much trouble with Isobe in comparison.) but the hardest substory for me (Not counting Amon.) was the one where the dude with the punchable face wanted to cross the bridge.

Yeah, its strange but I had no issues hitting 3 stars on each song. The requirements were very lenient I thought while the Ogita battle for example required more focus and far less mistakes (I actually didn't bother using the special fever move in favour of getting a bigger combo, only way I could beat his score on hard mode).

What's the easiest way to get Zap Guns for Kiryu and Majima? I fought Mr. Shakedown a couple of times with Kiryu, and won. Now I'm losing to Mr. Shakedown due to me being too greedy and making mistakes.

The best way to defeat Mr. Shakedown is to abuse him with Heat Actions. Get a good weapon and a lot of heat refill item and you're good to go.
With Kiryu you have an usefull ability to boost the damage of your Heat Actions, but you'll have to be drunk and with full life.

But if you really want the Zap Gun, go to the park with the homeless dudes. Near the save point you have 2 Dream machines. You can save/load here to make them "spawn". I was farming some part for the pocket race and I got a lot of Zap Gun.

Alternatively you can use the Slime Gun

Just get a super spicy knife and then you can buy 4 of them or so. That should be enough. Avarice shirt on Kiryu and the skill that boosts your Shakedown take basically means endless moneyin the game. You can keep a couple of heat items around just in case.

The fuck? So the woman talks about how this guy forced her to do sexy work, roughed her up, and took her passport. Then, he proposes to her at the end because he was doing it all out of love and she agrees? This is somehow seen as a feel-good moment in the game. Seriously, wtf? I was hoping for a pivot of "No. You're fucking awful scum." but it never got there.

One of the funniest subquests of the game. The over the top Pizza Delivery Theme and the pizza guy fist pumping at the end were the cherry on top.

I haven't played XIV yet I probably should my avatar is actually a fan render from the KOF14 models. I have heard generally positive things about KOF14, what initially put me off and kept me off it at launch was the 3D graphics. I am starting to warm up to it a bit though.
