KYLO REN'S STARFIGHTER FROM STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI

Please let there be a battle in space between Kylo and Luke and save the big Lightsaber duel for IX.

The original leak and that TLJ toy still look a lot alike, especially with those angles, and the fact that that leak was a drawing someone made from a description given to someone at MSW. [shrug]

Edit: that "leak" image is TFA concept art from a book. Still [shrug]

Forget the lightsaber, Luke has Jack Sparrow's compass.

In Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Luke Skywalker has a compass that guides his way. The compass is a box with a blue marble-like orb on the top. I believe Luke Skywalker moves his hand over the blue orb and the box opens up to reveal the compass inside the box. The interior of the box has metallic dials with Aurebesh writing inside denoting some “space” version of North, South, East, and West with a needle to point the way. The prop is probably the most beautiful piece of craftsmanship I can think of for a Star Wars film. It has a very old look to it but the inside is almost steampunk or like something mystical from Naboo.

And a cattle prod.
Skywalker has a wooden walking stick and a cattle prod-type weapon for zapping any creatures that get in his way. A person on set heard it called a “lightning rod” but it doesn’t look like an epic weapon. It looks like something you would just casually zap a pest with. Luke’s wooden walking stick clicks to his belt where his lightsaber would be. I did casually ponder if it could be a training saber like we saw in Star Wars Rebels but it looked more like a walking stick. However, I never saw a lightsaber on his belt, just these other utility tools for getting by on Ahch-To. In fact, I have yet to see Luke’s lightsaber at all. (I’m not saying he doesn’t have one in the film. I’m just saying I haven’t seen any empirical evidence of a lightsaber yet.)

Haven't been keeping up but maybe someone who has, any of this adding up? My last "source" was total bullshit.

Yes, Anakin is in this and has one of the biggest surprise reveals in the film. You meet him early but he's actually an animal (no one knows this except Luke which is why when he appears "human" again, it's supposed to be a "gasp" moment we call it).

There's existing rumours/spoilers in there but that sounds a bit too crazy.

I think the stuff about Rey being
a reincarnation of the first force user is pretty unlikely too. I can't see Rian going for more Space Jesus stuff.

I have a good feeling about
Yoda turning up though, especially after Frank Oz's recent comments.

I like the idea that I saw floating around on Reddit that the Resistance sends Finn and Rose to Canto Bight to mess with the First Order's finances, since that's probably where a bunch of their creditors come from when you take Rinrivin's plans from Bloodline into account.

That seems likely. Perhaps they go looking for DJ because he has the means to help with that. Plus, it would help fill in the blanks for those who only watch the films on how the First Order had the resources to build a fleet and Starkiller Base.

Speaking of Bloodline, didn't Claudia Gray say a location in the book would appear in the film? Wonder what that'll be. I have a feeling it won't be Hosnian Prime.

Seems like Rian Johnson pretty much appropriated the blank empty canvas that was the giant Snoke hologram and invented his own character. I really doubt Abrams thought of Supreme Leader Snoke's backstory as that of a rich, gold robed dude on a casino planet. Definitely feels like they gave Rian lots of freedom.

Not the biggest fan of that AT-M6 thing. The clean industrial, more angular design from McQuarrie got a hell of a lot more organic and animal like.
Also having to turn your whole body for the main gun to aim feels like two steps backwards from having it on the head that can rotate around independently.
