Why are these a 120MB download for a 2MB game?
What a fucking waste of space.
Unfortunately Unity...

All the games have a simple layout which makes it easy to play em , cloud saves only for free version and you get ads once in a while but they can be fast forwarded and closed off quickly.
So you can play Kid Chameleon with the on screen controls with no issues?! Or are you using a gamepad?
Honestly though this unity method is better than the crappy one sega put out on steam in the recent update runs like crazy but has that good mod support.
If this is the only way to get Panzer Dragoon Saga and Dragon Force re-released, I'm all for it.
This. The idea is to get SEGA back in the limelight and help gauge what games people are interested in. Plus uniformity is a plus. I hope it pans out.Not really understanding the disappointment.
It's a collection of free games with more being added and they even have controller/leaderboard support.
What's not to like?
Srsly.
It's criminal they haven't put more effort into PDS. Even if its just emulated with some filtering and AA thrown on.
I still don't buy the "we can't find any backups of the assets" tale.
Backbone Entertainment always got to show their logo for their shitty emulation, and Christian Whitehead has his big logo splash opening up his Sonic ports. They tried but the retroarch guys wanted to have retroarch branding in the games, which is an insane request for something like this, tbqh. Of course if you're hired to do a service for some other company, it's going to have that company's branding and not yours. And it's sure as shit not going to have any retroarch branding anywhere. Not on something like this. Why would Sega want to boycott themselves like that? Not sure what they were thinking there.
Of course, they got pissed and tweeted this, which shows how professional they are. Stay classy, retroarch guys.
Played Sonic 1 now.
1. Menu is nice, razor sharp crisp native 1080p with cool game box and cartridges in 3D.
2. Only with internet playable. :/
3. Ingame does it not look like native resolution and the colors are dull, mehhh.
Fucking Sega.
Had 2 save files in PS2, with 5 hours logged into Save 2. Booted it up today to continue and only Save 1 is there (which had 20 minutes played lol).
I'm out.

They really did it wrong by converting the current releases, all these forever sega versions should have been new releases.
I'm upset with their choices right now.
Alternatively you have people who paid for the original game complain that their old, non-64 bit versions from 2010 aren't updated and how dare they make me pay twice.
Have you played the taxman port before? the menu is all brand new and scales with your device but the game itself is just a widescreen version of the megadrive resolution which is something like 480 x 240 I forget exactly.
The now old taxman build also played offline and didn't have ads or extra splash screens while booting up, the now 'new' forever version is a step back in quality.

Oh. My. God.That said, I'm very cognisant of getting some fan wins in there as well - I'm actively looking at Segagaga as a title which will be a great thing

Do they really expect us to believe that they're going to do a full English translation to port an obscure Dreamcast game to mobile when they can't even get Genesis games working properly?...

if you look at the vast majority there's a lot of very delighted fans out there.
Oh. My. God.

LOL the GPL excuse and the fragmentation excuse are golden.
So Comix Zone is slow because fragmentation... o...ok but I have a Galaxy S7 and it stutters
Mike Evans: Yeah, I think that's one of the inspirations for me - there's some amazing emulators out there in the community. The unfortunate thing is sometimes that's marred by spyware, by viruses
Sega couldn't care less of their own legacy. These emulators are horrible. This is not a way to honor the legacy of Sega.
Really hope they don't go and replace the versions of Sonic 1, 2 and CD on the store because those are light years beyond this garbage.
I expected a bit more honesty from Sega. EG are just saying what people are thinking, this guy is in denial.
I wonder how long that licence was for? Maybe that's why they're not bringing out a decent MegaDrive Mini box of their own?that's people's problem. Sega doesnt give a shit. They've licensed out their name and games to shitty plug and play boxes for years.
Oh. My. God.
For the vast majority of our fans it's solid, but the specialist guys who are looking for the absolute epitome of quality, we're going to keep improving for those guys.
If it gets released on anything, you can bet your arse people will work out a way to port those translations to the DC version.Well that's one way to downplay legitimate and apparently widespread issues with emulation. Though if it actually leads to them improving the quality of emulation then in the end it's not all bad....but yeesh.
Namedropping Segagaga in the context of minority critical feedback vs majority praise through the Store feedback seems a bit shady considering that title is probably more anticipated by that worried minority. If they actually manage to make it happen though, then even if it's only mobile for now, all is right in the world.
Can't wait to play Segagaga at sub-20 FPS (only $2 to remove ads and increase performance by 7 FPS! Best deal!!).
If you think people who can't emulate a single 68000@7.6 MHz with a pretty simple GPU and a basic SPU at native speed on a 2017 smartphone are able to handle Saturn at anything above 1 fpm, I have a bridge to sell to you.
So we're supposed to get new Sega Forever games every two weeks, right? The service launched June 22nd... did I miss something, or did July 6th come and go with absolutely no announcements?
