I'd prefer my quiz level to be considered for the OP, but I just published this and it is absolutely must see in my opinion:

Using a full fledged LED screen, Modulos and I have created a method that is suitable for animation. The pic below only shows one frame...the full walk animation is in there. This is just the first test there will be more.

Thanks. I kind panicked last night after I saw that like 13 people played, but only one was on the leaderboard. I ended up tweaking the jumps on the mountain a lot to make them easier. Now I figured that it just took a few minutes to update. I republished it about 4 times I think now. I'm kind of in a weird place, I initially wanted the level to be out by Thanksgiving and I beat that milestone by a lot so I think I'm still going to be editing and tweaking things, possibly adding a couple more sections. It's just hard finding something that fits right in my mind. I'll spend hours making something only to realize that it doesn't really fit in right and just end up deleting it. Hopefully I'll figure out some more stuff that works.

Thanks again to everyone who's played my level. Haven't gotten the all the different levels in this thread yet, but I promise I'll work on it as soon as I can.

You level is superb. It's in my hearted list now. I really like your snow. In overall it's simple and well-done. I like that.

OK, made demo 2 a little faster than expected. Make sure you check this one out early on, because I don't think it will be around for very long for some strange reason...

PAD2.png

Pixel Animation Demo 2/Clipper_US(aided by Modulos)

16x16 screen this time. Can't quite get full animation at this resolution (only 3 frames, and a lot of cheating), but still looks impressive.

How long did it take to make these levels?

The lemmings one only took an hour or two (one to build the screen, a second to build the frames). Mario (technically Jumpman) took a few more, but that was because I was trying to work out how not to overheat the thermometer.

Now that I have the parts built, doing more of the smaller ones would take no time at all given a suitable sprite sheet. Only problem is that I can't seem to find anything good that is 150 pixels or smaller.

Please have a look at my first level "Santas little helper" (PSN: McSpooky)

"Santa Clause is hurt and needs sackboy's help to deliver all the presents and save Christmas. Enjoy the rewards when you deliver that present under the tree-But be careful not to burn your tush in the fireplace"

Man this level design stuff is not as easy as it looks

Thanks guys -lemme know what you think in this thread :)

Guys, I almost have my protest level made regarding the excessive moderation.

Once it's done, be sure to play it and heart it as a sign that you do not want LBP to go in this direction. Make a comment on my level too once it's done.

Okay I published my protest level.

"LittleBigPlanet Alternate Ending: The Petition"

Try searching for "Alternate Ending:" and look in the US. It's easy to find because I have a picture of Patrick Swayze with a horse as the icon.

Play it, Heart it, Comment on it.

Is the horse wearing a bikini?

I still love that narration ;).

Is it you Korghano? Platformer Pandemonium is EXCELLENT and i'm going to play this new level ASAP.
By the way, if you manage to find the guy who copied your Platformer Pandemonium you should good grief him. He's easier to find than your own level (that deserves more plays!)

Hi Ranger, yes it's me! Thanks for the kind words, I thought about Good Griefing the fellow but I figure it's probably too late for it to have any sort of effect, I DID send an email to MM about it though. The funny thing is that shortly after this my original level was locked!

Gonna hafta give The Banana Horde a whirl next time I get on, looks very charming.

Chris_C/Korghano,

Have you republished Platformer Pandemonium? Last time I checked (finding your profile through your comment on the stolen copy, heh), it wasn't among your created levels. Sad if the stolen version is the only one out there.

BTW, you can get stuck in the underground after going down the left side (on Pandemonium). The rocket may destroy the moving platform above it, making it impossible to jump onto or grab.

I have indeed republished Platformer Pandemonium, I'll have to take a look at fixing that bug you mentioned, I tested that area extensively but because LPB is a physics based game it's hard to reproduce what everyone will experience!

Welp, I uploaded a video of the Spirited Away - Always With Me level people were talking about. Play it before it gets nicked by itchy moderator fingers!

Level Name - Spirited Awey music
User Name - calvalryaki

Level name is missing some kanji/hiragana, so I posted what i could of it.

That's a spot-on No Face. Really creative idea for the typical music ride level too.

I've published my first proper level now.

Level name: Nightshift
Creator: steoc4

I need to work on explaining the first bit better, because noone ever gets it. But basically you're on a three floor hospital, each of the three floors is pretty much identical with a baby crawling from left to right, and a bottle of poison on the right and side. So you need to manage your time, going up and down the elevator and dragging babies back to the left before they reach the poison. You have about 90 seconds of this before your 'shift' ends and you can head out onto the street.

The rest of the level is fairly straight forward pure platforming, it's fairly challenging but it's all doable. I only really designed it for single player though, some parts are very difficult to negotiate with multiple players.

I'd appreciate any feedback so I can keep improving it :)

Not too long, actually. The longest part has been in creating the system to do the animation. Optimization has been the biggest problem we have run into. The two animation tests are taking between 75% and 100% thermometer. Actually creating the sprites takes 30 or so minutes, tops.

Marquee Demonstration / Modulos (in collaboration with Clipper_US)
Demonstration of LED scrolling text
North America

This is using many of the same principles that Clipper and I have created. It is an LED display that has marquee text scrolling across in different colors. This test is taking approximately 75% thermometer, however I have figured out a way to get it down to around 60% I believe. Just need to implement it when I get a spare chance. If you liked the sprite demos above, check out the Marquee and my other LED demo.

I'm working on a light themed level which will include some of these things you've seen so far, should be ready this week sometime.

Played your level a bit before you officially announced it. It was fun and very colorful. I just started on my level (not published yet) called Metal and Ice. I also liked that you made your own clouds. I just find making your own stuff ALOT more satisfying.

I'm trying to go as custom as possible. I have still a couple of problems with the level that I will fix/improve. Thanks for the feedback, I always want feedback ;)

Yeah, that seems to be the best. Especially when what they made, may not go with your theme.

bish gets all the credit :)
Just a word of advice if you want more plays; move your levels towards North America. I just moved all of mine there and immediately began getting more plays. The "globe" usually starts there when you load the custom levels, so it's probably easier for people to find them. I'm still a long way from getting the "create" trophy though.

Haha, yea I just threw that in there. That is part of my light themed level that should be up in the next week or two. Like Clipper said, its just glass with tiny spotlights in it. A lot of sensor switches with a very small radius hooked up to each light.

I love how the light up floor gets more attention than the marquee =P

Thanks for the mention. Was on the road this weekend and finished and published Starstruck 2! at a friends. Didn't have the means to get any youtube up but will try sometime this week. I included three Ace prizes in my level - an emitter bar that slowly rains down leaves and flowers in the front and back thin planes, an emitter bar that does the same with yellow lighted stars and a contraption I built to capture and swing players from lower to higher levels or vice versa. I hate getting my inventory stacked up with user items I'll never use so I made them Ace prizes to respect anyone else that feels this way. If they sound like something anyone would use or want, a couple of play throughs should get you an ace. If you can't ace it, get the high score and send me message and I'll gladly send it your way. An interesting note, there are parts of this level where all the jazz drums are generated by the environment and the player movement - not by the in game soundtrack. There are a couple of score tricks that involve learning a few fast jumps and quick timing that should put top scores in the 40-50k region and when done correctly play out a fun little chain of events. So far I've only seen scores around 15-20k.

On another note MiamiWesker is right on the button with the other levels mentioned ,I recommend them to all.

P.S. - did Wurm get banned again?

Thanks for the tips MiamiWesker. I have had a fun filled evening playing through the SirenRose and am now going back into the Jaeyden levels. And they are all amazing. Jaeyden, I love how your levels manage to create lots of different looks. Really incredible stuff so far. Thank-you

Now that I think about it, a verticle or horizontal shooter wouldnt be that hard to make. Also i'm finally underway with my second level. Trying to set up a rocket rappel rail :lol More platforming than anything.

My first level's up, a straightforward platformer level where you're trying to find a way through a work zone to the city. It's currently in its first version.

Camouflage. It is unlike anything else you have seen so far on LBP. Please comment and heart it if you like it. If enough interest is shown I will make another one. The level is short as I was testing the concept and want to see how the community reacts. Good Luck! 

I really want to try to use the enemy 'approach' AI to make some interesting stuff. First of all I'm hoping to make a level that's kind of like an escort mission (something like the Cave level in the Wedding set), but what I really want to do is make a cannon object that's capable of aiming at Sackboys by being attached somehow to at least one attracted enemy.

Is amazing how few people played this level(and my other levels). Then I tried to look for it through the Cool Levels menu.... a crapton of pages after I was sick of searching -_-
They really need to fix how the levels are arranged and displayed, its nearly impossible to get visibility right now, unless your level is called "little big FamousName"

Even more ridiculous than that, we don't even know what's the rule of "cool levels". At least I have no idea how do it is sorted. Media Molecule could have made this clear at least.

Yeah, I kind of wish that there were a section with levels selected by Media Molecule.
