Except it is not a random throwaway and it is as good as it is popular?

All the artist talents are not wasted on this.

Oh yeah Shun, these are the new idols

This game is better than most JRPGs I played recent years

No kidding right? We have the presentation and gameplay full out. This is an actual premium quality game. TBH, I play this more like a PC game with the Chrome App then anything. Phone only for rolling or when not @ home.

A talent like Hideo Minaba should be working on FFXVI, not a random throwaway mobile game. :(

And as someone mentioned earlier, CyGames's Granblue Fantasy booth @ TGS 2015 was the biggest and most spectacular booth. Reports from new years showed a very heavy marketing campaign, and @ 2 years old now, has over 9 million accounts.

The game was out for almost 2 years and had no topic until now, while Terra Battle and Fate Grand/Order have one. What.

Anyway this game is good. Spend a lot of time playing it.

I LOVE the collaboration they are able to get. The iDOLM@STER and Street Fighter collaboration event made me lose some sleep.

Saddly I've only got two 包丁 from this event, the drop rate is too low

I agree that Minaba's skills can be better utilized than for art direction and character design on a flagship game developed by the company that owns his art studio. That's why I'm glad that he is also working on the artwork for one of the greatest games out right now - Terra Battle from the father of Final Fantasy. We truly live in blessed times.

I'm I the only one who actually care about the story of this game? I think it's nice and the manga is really fun to read
I even bought all the novels

I gotta say the story really picked up in the later 30/40s

Just beat that Yggdrasil Malice in chapter 52. She's strong. Way stronger than many event bosses

I need to rush up to ch50 at least while 1/2 AP is up, apparently Rosetta SSR's fate episode requires ch50.

Also, holy, just got her ability to 5 stacks and unleashed it, Byakko just got wrecked.

You have Eugen, right? Then rush to 58 while you can

How does it run? I just go the 6S Plus and am hoping it works fine since I don't do much PC gaming.

5S I play through browser for a bit before app it was okay. I am on 6S Plus now and it works perfect. Best phone I have own.

I play everything on it, iDOLM@STER Starlight Stage, jubeat, reflec beat, Granblue, Seven Knight, FGO, Chain Chronicle, Musashihime, etc all fine.

Battery life is so good too.
Oh yeah Shun, these are the new idols
.

yup, I hope we get more like the characters I want.

Edit: I do not think anyone play Shingeki no Bahamut here?

This was my layout months ago.

So I've been re-rolling for a while this Legend Fest (up to 58 right now), and have a few SSR. I'm aiming for Catalina or Rosetta, but I'm unsure whether they make good "first" characters. I could always purchase a Start Dash ticket later and grab them that way, but I'd rather save that for something else if I could.

Here's my current list of rolled SSR:

- Sara
- Lancelot
- Yuel
- Altair
- Lady Grey
- Lo
- Melleu
- Charlotte

I also rolled a Bahamut summon which I've heard is good, but it's not a character so I'm unsure whether it's something to start off with or not. I know you can't get Bahamut with tickets, so I kind of want to keep him for that reason.

I can't help you, but I think that Bahamut is probably the best thing you've gotten from what I understand. Apparently you don't need the characters as much, plus with the start ticket you can sort of get there anyway, I guess?

How many of those beasts event have we had thus far, I was wondering. Has the one for Wind been around yet?

Ooooh yeah. Seiryu was in January. XD Was the Celestial Beast before Byakko.

And yeah Bahamut is great, provided you got dark chars to take advantage. 100% boost!

Rosetta wouldn't be good to start off with no, but Catalina would be. Lancelot and Altair are good starters too, damage and utility!

So it is pay to win. :(

Kind of, sort of. It mostly comes down to getting a good weapon pool to power your team up. Good characters can help speed that up for sure but if they're not supports with extra HP, attack power and multipliers it'll all go to waste. You still need to grind your face off to get it done like everyone else, so that means lots of hosting and leeching.

I'd strongly suggest sticking with Bahamut, you can Start Dash either of the two SSR's you want or ticket them later.

In general people seem to be getting a little too hung up on getting a "top tier" SSR when re-rolling. Which is a mistake for several reasons, the first is that no matter how good the SSR one character simply cant "carry" you particularly well in this game, the second is that most top tier SSR's rely very heavily on team synergy with other SSR's so having them alone isnt going to let them shine, third most top tier SSR's only get going after significant investment (e.g. the 5* ones) and can be sub-par starting out, finally every SSR/party relies on a solid weapon pool which again you wont have starting off.

Also the SSR tier list (assuming its the one with the chibi heads) is out of date I believe. In short, when re-rolling dont get too hung up on getting the "perfect" SSR because there really isnt one. Go with who you like the look of or who's exclusive or whoever you get. In the long run its not going to matter too much.

To quote the Ultimate Guide:

The Ultimate Guide said:
Almost any SSR character is worth keeping really. No one character can carry that hard. The best starting character would be one which is useful no matter what team they are in. For example chars like Artyle who can buff/debuff/increase ougi, healers like Lena who can heal your whole party, or whoever you like.

This is my character tier list:
Tier 1 - Every SSR Character
Tier 2 - Every SR Character
Tier 3 - Every R Character

If you get lucky and get lucifer (100% light), bahamut (100% dark) or grande (200% if you have 3 chars of different elements) summons, I would keep that. They can carry pretty hard if you have lucifer/bahamut/grande friends which are easy to find if you have the summon yourself. Also you can't exchange for them with the starter dash or surprise tickets so they are harder to get.

*You don't need to reroll, but it is the only time in the game where you get a good chance at getting a SSR that you can control. You can play the game perfectly fine without them though if you don't want to reroll or you can just use a SSR exchange ticket.

Or the more in-depth stuff from An Idiot’s Guide to Granblue Fantasy:

Also note that most SSRs are still good, some are just better than others. If you’re here from the reroll section, feel free to just run with whatever you have if you’re tired of it. If you’re looking for SR information, there’s a tier list in the resources section.

Any Limited Character - Exclusivity is a giant factor, if you care about one make sure you start with it or else you’ll probably have to whale a few thousand dollars to get what you want later.

Yodaruraha (Yoda) - The best early game SSR, hands down. His ougi deals 999,999 flat damage. If you want to start with him, just be warned that he does fall off later in the game as his skills don’t scale extremely well as your stats increase. If you want to cruise through the early-mid game, just grab him and don’t look back. If you think you’re going to grind hard and will have a good enough weapon setup in a few months, skip him. SSRs aren’t exactly easy to come by and investing for the long term is a valid option if you’ll actually get there.

5 Star Limit Break Characters (Magisa, Charlotte, Lancelot, Cagliostro, Nezahualpilli, Amira, Lady Grey) - These specific characters have an extra 20 available levels and are all very strong in the late game. Most of them are the best or among the best options within their element and have spots in endgame teams. There are two core problems. The first being the leveling after the extra Limit Break is a very long grind that can take months. If you like any of these characters in particular and are on the fence, starting the grind early can save you a lot of frustration later on. The second is that a few of these characters simply aren’t very good until they reach capped levels. So if you don’t want to have a semi-useless SSR for a few months before they become god tier, you might want to look elsewhere.

Strong Attackers (Percival, Silva, Lancelot, Eustace, Althea, Nezahualpilli, Amira, Albert, Narumea) - I generally prioritize the best endgame attackers as they are the core of your main team. Support type characters are great, but at the end of the day something has to kill the enemies. In that regard, the above set are some of the best at the job within their elements and it’s hard to go wrong with any of them.

To put it in other terms: I’d rather have a character that does 50% more damage overall and support them with 20% extra damage rather than a character that does a baseline amount of damage supported for 40% extra damage.

Avoid Dark and Light Early - Not much of a character suggestion, but due to how getting stronger in GBF works: Light and Dark have a much harder time earlier on. There are arguments to be made either way, but check Section 3 for a more in depth write up on why going for these elements early can be troublesome.

Avoid Dorafs, Eruns, and Havins - Again, not much of a character suggestion. However you’ll want to consider Bahamut Weapons (explained in Section 4) later on. They’re a large portion of your damage and having one of these races without planning for it can leave you with a character missing out on 30%+ damage at endgame. Simply put, characters with Human or Unknown as their race are far easier to plan around as they are the vast majority of characters.

That said, there are very strong Eruns (i.e. Eustace), Dorafs (i.e. Narumea), and Havins (i.e. Charlotte). Don’t let this be the deciding factor for you, but if you’re on the fence you can use this to help decide.

Pair Up Your SSRs - Since you’ll likely want to focus on one element early, you’ll want to get as many powerful characters in a single element as possible. That being said, you won’t want to get too many as future rolls can be random and leave you with more SSRs than you can possibly use for that element. Most elements have a duo of attacker/support that make up the core in the majority of endgame parties - and completing one of these early can be extremely useful.

Fire - Percival (Attacker) + Clarice (Support)
Water - Silva (Attacker) + Altair (Support)
Earth - Althea or Eustace (Attacker) + Cagliostro (Support)
Wind - Nezahualpilli (Attacker) + Petra (Support)
Light - Amira or Albert (Attacker) + Jeanne (Support)
Dark - Narumea (Attacker) + Vampy (Support)

Generally the power spike from adding a 3rd SSR is smaller than adding a second, so if you’re considering future Surprise Tickets - you might want to branch out instead. However if you’re eyeing a specific third, then the chance you’ll pull them is incredibly low and you might want to just ticket them to be safe.

And for the sake of completeness the recommendations from the Japanese Granblue Wiki. These are for who to chose with your Start Dash which is analogous to who to chose when re-rolling

Chose your character based on their appearance / voice actor / how much you like them. If there's one that particularly appeal then chose based on strength either per element or from the list below.

Yoda
Sara
Buffer: Altair, Petra
Recovery: Lena, Juel, Lily, Cagliostro

The per-attribute lists:

Fire - Percvial / Clarice / Yuel
Water - Altair / Silva / Charlotte / Yoda
Earth - Sara / Aretia / Cagliostro / Arurumeiya
Wind - Nezahualpilli / Petra / Lena
Light - Jeanne / Amira / Albert / Ferri
Dark - Vampi / Lady Grey / Narumea

So it is pay to win. :(

To be honest "Pay to win" doesnt really apply to the game, there's no direct competition, the only player vs player stuff are Guild Wars, which are a points race between guilds. Even there a whale will lose against a grinder. To do well in this game its more about investing time rather than money.

How do you kill chapter 51 boss? Is there a trick?

Deal around 20k damages to him and his amor will break. Believe me, he comes back later and is much stronger. Any way, after him you will fight Yggdrasil Malice in chapter 52. The strongest story boss so far
Also, the Japanese always say, stay with the character you like when rerolling. Don't need to care about tier or anything.

It's called Grindblue Fantasy for a reason.

While characters can have their advantages, it's the weapon pools/summons that dictate your output. If you have a fantastic weapon pool, you can win with any character.

The best weapons are literally only from ingame events/gathering. Nothing pay related. Guild War/Magna/Bahamut Weapons are a real chore to get and complete, and no amount of paying will change that.

Thanks for this, everyone. I really do appreciate it.

I'll continue re-rolling through tomorrow and, if I don't manage Catalina, I'll just go ahead with my Bahamut summon one. The only thing that worries me about Bahamut is needing to build a dark team around him to get the full effect. :(

Since I do only have 3 bolded SSR atm. Would it be advised when the next surprise ticket comes, to choose pair for one of those. Who would it be? Ofc keeping mind if there is something very good in ST, I will take it.

Start building a weapon pool for one of the elements and that is your answer. Pick a character that you can support with strong weapons and summon.

If you're going for a pair I'd be tempted to go for Neza if I was you, you can get Anat (who is pretty good) from the Casino and you get the Wind carbuncle for free from the stamp rewards. On top of that all the Tiamat magna weapons have attack passives and she's one of the "easier" Magna to farm (her weapon types are also arguably better as well). Wind is a pretty solid element to focus on.

Want to be esports? Do you enjoy a character/element? Want to focus on one or two elements in particular? You'll have to answer a few of those questions yourself.

If you want my personal opinion, which you do, go wind. Wind weapon pools are easy to build up, so it'll get off the ground faster. Together with birdman, he'll glass cannon his way to MVP in your party, losing the glass part once he hits level 100.

Anything that would work well wth Rosetta SSR? I think I like her best out of my new SSRs.

There is no wind team without birdman (Nezahualpilli)

Maybe I'll get him for my ticket then. But Rosetta doesn't seem like a hard hitter. I don't know what her role really is.

Nice weapons. I wish I didn't miss out on the Seiryuu(sp?) event. Would have helped me a lot.

roll with baha instead of some petty SSR characters, or you will deeply regret it later when you are rank 110 and still dont have either lucifer or baha.

Rosetta is an insane support who also happens to be able to soak up a lot of damage. She's also one of the more fun characters to use due to her complicated but very rewarding skill set.

Her main skill puts her into her "Barrier of Rose" form, while in this form she's more likely to be attacked by enemies and gains a lot of buffs (reflect, 500 hp regen for example).

Every turn it's active she'll use a bit of Ougi. She also gains a stack for every turn she took damage.

If you de-activate the skill by using it another time she'll consume the stacks which casts various buffs depending on the amount of stacks she used. If she consumes five stacks everyone in you party turns into insane DPS monsters.

Do be aware that the Ougi consumption is quite big, if she doesn't have enough Ougi to consume she'll leave the mode without casting any buffs. This also happens if she doesn't get attacked for two turns from my testing.

I heavily advice you to level Rosetta up as soon as possible, her third skill allows her to leech 45% Ougi of your allies, at some point her first skill also gets an upgrade, entering and leaving her Barrier of Rose form doesn't cost any Ougi then.
