I am about to start a new TV series and thinking about either the X-Files or Buffy. I watched both piecemeal when I was in high school and liked both from what I saw. Both are heavy investments at 202 and 144 episodes each respectively @ like 45 minutes an episode. Anyone who has watched both recommend watching one over the other first?

I have only watched about a season and a half worth of x-files episodes...but buffy. The characters are great, and the cast was perfect. All of them were likable. The show was well-written, and the first four, or so seasons, were some of the best on tv. It would be worth it just for that. I don't remember it too well, but the last season was pretty bad.

You sold me, thanks. I was actually steering towards watching Buffy after I started to reread the previous Netflix thread and the amount of mentions of Buffy compared to the X-Files.

It was ok. I didn't find it funny, and thought it was a bit dull. Although, it did have its moments. It was a bit of a let-down, especially since I loved Despicable Me.

Watched "Headhunters" last night and really enjoyed it. Kept me intrigued right the way throughout the film and I'd recommend it to people who like a good thriller.

Once you finish the first three seasons of Buffy, start watching Angel along side it. There's a number of crossover events between the two shows. And if you end up liking Buffy, you will like Angel.

Trollhunter is a pretty good film, seeing it on netflix I thought it was one of those syfy original movies, but then I heard good things about it and gave it a watch. It's a pretty goid found footage movie with some fairly impressive cgi.

It looks like Netflix users in the US will soon have quite a few new TV series to choose from as they wait for Arrested Development to make its big return in May. The company announced today that it's struck a multi-year deal with Turner Broadcasting and the Warner Bros. Television Group that will see a variety of animated and live-action series from the Cartoon Network, Warner Bros. Animation, Adult Swim and TNT be made available for streaming. That includes the likes of Adventure Time, Ben 10, the Green Lantern animated series, Robot Chicken, Aqua Teen Hunger Force and TNT's Dallas, the last of which is an exclusive deal that begins in January of 2014 -- all the other series will be available starting March 30th.

Link. Thread on the above news.

Edit-
Link.

At the same time, Adult Swim shows like Robot Chicken and Aqua Teen Hunger Force, as well as Sony Pictures Television's The Boondocks, and Childrens Hospital from WBTVG's Studio 2.0 will also hit Netflix. The Warner Horizon Television-produced TNT series Dallas is also exclusively heading to Netflix in Jan. 2014.

Being Human Season 2 is up.

One of the new great shows. If you found it bizarre interesting, stick with it. If you found it just plain bizarre, give it one more episode before bailing out.

They tend to add it around the time the new season airs.

Similar in terms of thriller, or genius-type movies? The latter, there aren't too many on streaming.

That is more of a guideline, than a rule. It differs between show, and seasons. If you can't wait, buy the BR.

Any recommendation for something with the "spirit" of Mirror Mirror with a competent story? Guess I'm looking for something that maintains a cheerful atmosphere throughout without being a comedy or "children" movie.

Watched the Chinese thriller Accident a while ago. It's about a hitman who completes his contracts, along with a small team, through elaborately orchestrated accidents.

However, during a hit, a freak car accident almost kills him and ends up killing one of his team...

I just finished watching and recommend the following:

Bones Brigade: An Autobiography

This documentary follows six teenagers who formed a skateboarding team in the 1980s, revitalizing the sport and becoming its top athletes: Steve Caballero, Tommy Guerrero, Tony Hawk, Mike McGill, Lance Mountain and Rodney Mullen.

Rising Son: The Legend of Skateboarder Christian Hosoi

Dennis Hopper narrates Cesario Montano's documentary on the roller-coaster life of skater legend Christian Hosoi. Earning the awe of his peers in the mid-1980s, Hosoi then hit rock bottom with crystal meth use and imprisonment for drug trafficking. He found redemption in Christianity and now strives to be a positive influence. Interviews with skaters such as Tony Hawk, Jason Lee and Tony Alva, and never-before-seen home videos, are included.

Everyday Sunshine: The Fishbone Story

Good-time specialists Fishbone get the spotlight in this lively documentary about the all-black punk-funk band that sprang out of South Central Los Angeles in 1979, signing a record deal before their principals were out of high school.

I first watched the Bones Brigade, which then caused the Hosoi documentary to pop up as a similar, then based on those two the Fishbone popped up as a "you might also like".
Netflix hit a triumverate of my love for documentaries, music, skating and it all came from my youth.

Nostalgia overload!

Great movie but uh...this is on Netflix in your country? It just came out in theaters or did this post just go over my head.

Speaking of which (for Jennifer Lawrence fans) apparently Winter's Bone is expiring on 1/26/13. Saw the expiration date on my Xbox. I thought expiration dates were removed?

Series is still running. Its probably one of those things where they are trying to get fans hooked so they watch the new episodes.

I wonder if Friends just cost way more than Netflix would want to pay or if its syndication on CW has anything to do with it. Friends was way more popular than HIMYM from a TV ratings standpoint. Although I guess streaming, DVR viewing, and illegal downloads could factor in.

So Netflix won't take my money now. I resigned up last month using a new card, it worked perfect and charged the card no problem. Fast fwd to today and now it won't take the card. The card is perfectly fine, has more then enough money on it, and I've used it for something else already. Call cs, they manually put the card in and same problem. Then I have them put in a totally different card in, that's even a different type and same problem. I mean if you take it once you should take it again, ughhhhh Netflix.
They say its not being declined, it just won't take it and they have no clue why.

I think they changed when the expiration notice would show up on the website, now you only get 1 week notice i believe. Its funny that this change didn't move to netflix devices, because on my tv i get the old 2 week? notice.

Just watched Headhunters. It was ok. I was really confused by two things though ...

Why was Clas hunting Roger? To punish him for not giving a recommendation? And why did everyone assume Clas killed Ove at the end when while on video Clas was referring to 'Ove' as Roger and talking about his wife Diana.

There was no audio on the video, and I think Clas just wanted Roger out of the picture because he was the only one preventing him from getting the job.

Its the BBC so you're not gonna have that problem.

There's an "ending" at the end of season two so it'd still be worth it.
