Apropos, I wholeheartedly recommend Elebits on the DS - one heck of an RPG adventure.

ENDLESS OCEAN 3!!!!!!!!!!

Endless Ocean needs to come back. We have EverBlue 1 & 2 on PS2 (1 was Japan/Europe only) from the same company, but Arika just keeps doing Nintendo C-team projects. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arika#..._Classic_Games

Endless Ocean 1 was incredibly innovative. At the time, some review organizations didn't know what to do with it. EMG refused to review it, saying it "isn't a game". http://gonintendo.com/?p=34258

Now we have games like Mountain, Windosill, Gone Home, and so on. Gaming has finally moved past a mandatory fail state as a precondition for enjoyment.

Endless Ocean 1 especially, but also 2, had a great sense of mystery. There was always something out there you hadn't seen. Even now, there's VERY small community on GameFAQs still exploring the game and discovering new things about it. Some of the animals have very specific behavior that only get triggered rarely.

There's also the mere hints of a story in EO1 that sleuths in the game community have tried to piece together. It invokes island myth for a really interesting world that feels like it predates the player character, and will last long after the player is gone.

The very structure of the game is interesting, too. They set up the player as a researcher with no real deadlines or assignments. The player can take clients and escort them on dives, but they don't have to. Almost the entire game map is available very soon after the start of the game. You can sidestep the story and/or take it at your own pace. The game continues from day to day and each season has different patterns for where the animals are. I think some change from month to month but I'm not positive.

There have been a few SCUBA games since EO2, but they are not the same thing. Subnautica, Depth Hunter, and World of Diving all are so eager to add video game elements to the pure experience of EO. I crave an educational mod / expansion pack for any of those games that really captures the open-world atmosphere of EO. The hubs in both EO games are so chill, and you can learn so much by examining the undersea animals.

And for those who basically 100%ed Endless Ocean 2, you know there's a story thread left unfinished. The character "LL", who IIRC is the missing son of the old guy on the island who is your mentor. Then there's a photography chain of missions that implies LL is still alive? But it's never fully resolved. I'm going off years-old information here so I may be getting some of it wrong.

That's why we need Endless Ocean 3.

Same. Endless Ocean 1 & 2 were my favourite Wii games after Mario Galaxy.

..such a shame they didn't have a Wii U version as the Gamepad would have been perfect for the camera.

Endless Ocean 3 would probably be the biggest game they could announce from my perspective.

While I'd love to see another Last Story (which sold successfully according to XSeed), Hironobu Sakaguchi himself said this won't be a Final Fantasy and this IS the Last Story he was doing.

I'd love to see a Red Steel 3 and Conduit 3. Red Steel 2 was just amazing and got so much right when it came to the sword play/gun play mix. Conduit 2 was far from perfect but was definitely scratching an itch left by Perfect Dark that no other sci-fi FPS was scratching. Plus the multiplayer (when hackers didn't ruin it) was fucking amazing.

Although it was a pack-in to show off the Wii U's capabilities, I'd love a NintendoLand 2. God, that game was fun. New mini games featuring Nintendo franchises (even some that weren't included in the first NintendoLand, like Punch-Out!!) would be wonderful.

Edit: Not to mention more Donkey Kong Crash Course levels. Hnnnggg.

I wouldn't mind a Red Steel 3, the second game was a huge improvement over the first. To bad the second game bombed hard and killed the series.

Not Wii in origin but it did get a New play Release...

Chibi fuckin Robo. I LOVE Chibo Robo 1, and every thing since has been only on handheld (and one is a weird sidescroller, and one was JP only) and completely flew under the radar because they didn't come close to living up to the original. Switch is a perfect place for the series I think.

It has a different technology but it definitely can, in theory, emulate Wii's pointer. It just isn't as necessarily as good for light gun style games. Also, Skyward Sword had pointing but didn't use the IR pointer. The Joycon gyros are superior to that technology.

The Last Story would have been so much better as a Wii U launch title. I really like that game, but it is chuggy on the Wii and Wii U Launch would have been improved by an action-RPG of its quality.

I'd do unspeakable things for a Wonderful 102; one of the most pleasant surprises in the Wii U's life cycle and sent straight for the guillotine from the second it was revealed (as an afterthought for IGN). More deserve to experience such delectable insanity. In the same breath I'd mention Bayonetta albeit I firmly believe she's almost a shoe-in for a Switch reappareance, even if just as an up-port of her Wii U installment(s).

Lego City Undercover was an initial thought but what do you know, it's on Switch already, alongside several other platforms. Can only hope it sells well enough to give us a sequel. I want more of Chase, Honey and the gang, please.

Sin and Punishment: Star Sucessor is easily one of the best games I've played in the 19 beaten this year so far; Top Three guaranteed. I fear that giving it the HD treatment may put it above the budget Nintendo would be comfortable with (seeing how the Wii title was $5 new not too long after release, and in the Wii's userbase no less) but goddamn, that title is pure delicious adrenaline all the way through and I'd be in day zero if they make a new one.

Now for a game I actually didn't like; Go Vacation for the Wii. I bought if off GAF hype and although the potential was laying there before my very eyes, my hands had to deal with unnecessary motion controls that robbed the game of the joy they were meant to evoke. I'd absolutely give it another shot were they to release it with normal controls, or much more polished motion ones.

This. That game consumed my life more than I expected it. A portable version would destroy my productivity at work.

Also, I will always ask for another Another Code :( (I loved Another Code R on the Wii)

The Switch's sensor can emulate some of the things the Wii's sensor could do. But in general, as a pointer, it's much slower to respond and less accurate.
