I have the USC falcon and have tried to put it together on 4 seperate occasions. It's not a joy to put it together at all.
They didn't number the bags for the chapters in the book so it was a nightmare sifting through 1000s pieces.

There's fun and then there's insanity.
When I built the first one, I sorted pieces as they came in from bricklink. It was still a pain finding the right pieces sorted in their own numbered bags.

I wanted the Executor soooooo badly. But I didn't have anywhere to put it so I gave up.

It seems like it's less "playing" in the sense you remember from childhood and more following instructions to make things from licenced properties

I would modify my sets if i had space to spread out pieces from older sets. Then i could construct stuff. But alas, no space... (Basically all my old legos are stuffed into boxes with no organization whatsoever.)
My favourite too. I could fund a MF by selling it and a couple of other sets, but I dont think I could let it go.

I may... I wish I had done this with Saturn V, it was a far too short build.
I can't see why it would need stickers... for the rust? I never put them, anyway.

It is so massive and imposing when finished, and usually fools people from a distance because they have no clue it is LEGO. It was my first UCS set, and still one of the best looking sets ever.Still the king:

As someone who enjoys both 40k and Lego I think there is definitely some similarity.
I'm trying to figure out buying this set. I can afford it but I will have some explaining to do lol.

I would buy one of those. Yeah why haven't they made a creator Titanic yet? It's such an obvious choice for a model.
I assume because it's inherently tied to an actual tragedy. Feels like the sort of subject Lego would be antsy about.

Where's likely to have the best price for the new UCS Falcon when it becomes available on the 1st September?
The teaser video showed 10/1, so don't expect it to be sold anywhere except for the Lego Store until then. The Lego Store will probably have it a couple weeks earlier as part of their free-to-join VIP program.
As far as the price, expect MSRP everywhere. Hard to find Lego sets sold at online retailers rarely see price breaks and are usually excluded from general sales. The best you can do on release is to pick up some discounted gift cards for the store you plan to buy from.
