They accomplished all that from just the hallways by the gate.

That was a really quick raid.

LOL

I assume those two guys that got shot were his escort but still, where the heck were they going? Were they going to meet Rebecca right outside of the interrogation room?

They got shot too easily. Not good Secret Service agents, SMH

Jadallah is mad he was lied to, lmao. Now Donovan has that information, if it's any value.

Hey remember when Andy came back triumphantly to CTU and got his job back ? I think the job description was to disappear for the rest of the episode.

I'm like "Dude, you just took 5 inches of knife to your thigh behind your knee. You cannot be walking PERIOD."

All this shit went down this episode because some dick couldn't keep his dick in his pants.

Terrific fuckery.

It's like...did they make it a cheating husband to make us not feel bad for what he's doing?

I mean, I guess if it was his own house (his wife) the red flag would go off. But why the cheating angle?

That's exactly it if it's not his wife and just some unknown girl they can't ID her right away.

This season is so awful that I'm starting to think they're trying to discredit the entirety of 24 to spite Kiefer Sutherland not returning. I know that's not the case, but I just can't understand how things have become so ridiculous. This is Keystone Cops level of absurdity. Gangbangers doing an interior drive-by against terrorists, followed by a presidential candidate literally walking into a terrorist group raid of CTU and turning into a serendipitous hostage...

How did this become the approved plot to bring the show back? Who let this happen???

I stopped watching 24 during season 7. What's Jack up to? Did they kill him off or did he leave the country or something?

Spoilers for Season 8 and 9:
In Season 8,
Jack Bauer took going rogue to an entirely new height and butchered a number of politicians and government employees, annoying not only the Chinese, but also the American and Russian governments
. In season 9,
he resolved two of those disputes using a samurai sword and by throwing two people out of windows, but ultimately surrendered himself to the Russians. Currently, he's rotting in a Russian prison, waiting for the 24-Prison Break Crossover Special.

That episode was certainly something. I know CTU has always been inept, but this is taken to new heights. Also, it took Carter twenty minutes to begin diffusing the bomb. It would have been better for everyone if he asked for the bomb squad to arrive, and returned to CTU so they'd have at least one competent agent protecting the terrorist (whose dad is totally alive). And for a very impressive-looking explosive vest, that was a very small explosion. She would have been better off just taking it off, throwing it, and running up stairs.

Terrible episode. The way everything came about and fell in to place was just eye rolling. The seasons had its moments at times but it's a poor imitation of 24 before it. And the new guy just feels like he plays second fiddle to everything else.

This show just isn't coming together.

Meanwhile, Designated Survivor has coalesced into a much more watchable successor show.

If Dr Dre doesn't kill a terrorist by bouncing a low rider up and down on their skull what's the point?

I've seen every ep they've shown on uk tv so far and I think I've paid full attention to maybe 30 mins tops of every ep combined, I get wanting to try doing 24 without Jack Bauer but it's not really working.

God I fucking hate how the writers keep resorting to romance angle on ALL the characters.
Like what the fuck??? Are they really that creatively struck out??

Worst 24 EVER.

This is just to cringeworthy now, I mean really? This is the best they could come up with?

It's all set now for Tony to come in in true 24 style and save the day with Eric.

I caught up. Wish I didn't. Terrible. Either way, the ratings are low enough to where I can't see any scenario where they'll bring this show back. They killed it.

Wow, this season is almost as if it is a parody of these action shows.
It's much better to watch it as such than to watch it as a genuine action show honestly.

I mean, part of the plot has literally consisted of a crew of drug dealers fighting against terrorists to rescue a government agent before the government bombard the area with missiles/bombs.

it's just absurd.

I haven't watched this yet. How is it? Is it at all comparable to real 24?

It's crap, not even Tony has been able to save it. It has all the worst impulses of the worst bugs if the original show and no Jack to make it bearable. Designated Survivor and even current Homeland are the better spiritual successors of 24.

Nah, current Homeland is pure hot garbage. The quality dropped harder than 24.

Every episode now is worse than the last, I am morbidly curious how low the show can sink.

You just know the show is setting up for "your terrorist dad is still alive and is the manager of a subway franchise now". The rest of the season will be about how Jedallah learns to become a fun loving American teenager and give up his murderous terrorist ways.

Current Homeland is pretty good actually

On the topic of this episode, its hard to think the Senior Ben Khalid is not the final big bad.
Eric Carter is about as threatening and competent as a Bauer sidekick thus far

Nah, I'll have to disagree. To me one of the worst seasons of the series, just when they were getting good again.

I couldn't disagree more. Homeland is one of the most relevant pieces of fiction today. A cyber-run media campaign fueled by bots pushing fake news. A president elect in the middle of a ideological battle with the intelligence community. It's mandatory viewing, IMO.

24 hasn't had much cohesion since forever.

It's almost as if you guys forgot how silly and ridiculous the show would get before. C'mon. This season is hardly different.

No. 24 was never sending in gang bangers to fight terrorists as the high-point of the entire season. Legacy makes season 6 of 24 look like high brow art.
