That's not completely true to be fair. Pretty sure his point was that this was a heinous and disgusting hate crime but felt the office of the white house shouldn't have to be questioned every time a hate crime occurs for a statement on an individual case as if they need to denounce everyone. (I'm guessing he feels as if the media is attaching every one to the president himself.)
He used the answer he had to transition to the President being "correct" and people need to apologize to "the right".
(I think the white house should have no problem denouncing each individual case and Spicer needs to realize how important it is to make a statement and move on.)

At the same time we're also one of the most segregated cities in the country and our police force regularly discriminates against minorities. We're only liberal relative to the rest of the country.
And was anyone really expecting racists and "both sides" fools to respond in any other way to this fucking attack? The benefit of the doubt being given despite all evidence pointing the other way, to people that don't even deserve.
I think that every time there is a hate crime the president should denounce it. Instead, he says absolutely fucking NOTHING unless it's a brown person doing the violence.
Remember when he tweeted about the "heinous muslim attack" in Canada, and when it turned out to be a white supremacist he never mentioned a single word of condolence let alone even acknowledgment of the attack?

NYC is very diverse. But it's not without issues. They're rarely violent. However, we have an administration that has emboldened white supremacy like no other in recent times, so I understand your concern.
It's a call to arms for the RAHOWA. They expect others to join them, or be influenced by their actions.

Horrific as this attack is, you won't be any less safe than before. Our country has a deep illness with its racism and NYC is no different, but the majority of New Yorkers seem much more tolerant than in other states that I've lived.

Fuck. Every time this story popped up on my feed, my heartrate went through the roof. Obviously, this shit is no longer surprising. But the true tragedy is that this man died at the hands of a minority-hating, race war inciting bigot and the people who see it, people with large to little amounts of influence will still fucking look at this and say racism is over or black lives don't matter or minorities are oversensitive and PC. There's already a background tension every day being a minority in a country that has historically proven it's disdain for you but to know at any moment you can be killed and your death will still want people to selfishly cling to the status quo, to ignorantly keep their head in the sand amplifies that background noise so much. Zimmerman, Roof, and now Jackson. Just think about the fact that their are people out there, young and old who see the heinous actions of people like this as fucking heroic, that is if they remember there were black victims in the first place.
