Yeah. It was why when they announced they were going to work on Call of Duty back in 2011, I was pretty disappointed.

I hope that they do something interesting with their zombies, and not just copy paste the formula treyarch made.

Yeah I'm an avid CoD fan but I've never gotten into the zombie modes because there's just too much shit going on and it's just not that fun to me to be honest. I'm more of a Spec Ops fan which peaked with MW2's challenges. I'll definitely give whatever they come up with a try though.

It seems like this might be the first Call of Duty game in years [since COD2] where I actually will play [and want to play] the campaign before the multiplayer.

I hope they make zombies less complex tgan whatever treyarch was doing with the last one.

id actually rather have extinction come back but I guess that's dead.

And I want health regen in mp because I dont want hralth pack spawns or medic class in COD.

Honestly, they just need to copy MoH Allied Assault, which they seem to be taking the Omaha beach landing from Spielberg's book who worked on MoHAA.

Looks good to me.

Wait for next year's game.

Treyarch has done phenomenal work on Nintendo home console ports.
How could you forget that Treyarch ported games by IW to Wii and Wii U?

Also the original Wii/Wii U team was disbanded years ago, after Ghosts, but neither deconfirms switch getting cod on switch this year. Activision calls all the shots.

Activision would be stupid not to port it on the switch this year.

Guns sounded pretty alright. Honestly that's my major concern with CoD now, that their guns sound almost like cap guns instead of actual ballistic weaponry.

I liked Extinction a lot too because it was a linear progression but the challenges kept things varied and interesting. I still remember barely meeting the group accuracy challenge and finishing the mission so that I got the platinum in Ghosts.

Regarding concentration camps, the 1st Infantry Division liberated two sub-camps of the Flossenbürg concentration camp:

After taking part in the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium, the "Big Red One" reentered Germany and, on March 15, 1945, crossed the Rhine.

On May 8, 1945, units of the 1st liberated Zwodau and Falkenau an der Eger, both subcamps of the Flossenbürg concentration camp. Both camps were located on territory that today is in the Czech Republic. Zwodau had been set up in 1944 by the SS for the production of air force equipment and housed some 1,200 female prisoners by March 1945. Falkenau housed 60 prisoners. At the time of its liberation, the camp in Zwodau held some 900 to 1,000 starving women prisoners. The 1st Infantry Division procured food from the neighboring areas and provided badly needed medical attention to the survivors.

Jesus.

I hate how every COD has to have Zombies now when Treyarch is what made it special.

I feel you, especially after the lackluster Exo-Zombies from these guys.

But I'm willing to give them another shot. It's gotta be better than IW Zombies at least.

But IW zombies is pretty good. More so for their first attempt

Or are you saying it needs to be at least better than IW Zombies because of how lackluster Exo-Zombie's was?

I hope Treyarch says fuck it and brings Dinosaurs in the next CoD lol. I honestly wouldn't put it past them since they're the only ones who truly try to innovate CoD a bit.

Machinegames tackled Holocaust with Wolfenstein The New Order, and did it tastefully while still making your stomach turn.

I forgot about this, but I remember how horrible I felt looking around and it suddenly hitting "This and worse actually happened."

I'd actually like the opposite from this zombies, takeit back to the World at War days, maybe one simple objective on the map for pack a punch, the real goal is just to survive for a ridiculously long amount. I'd also like to see a shift that means the gameplay doesn't just become running a zombie chain like it has devolved into.

If I ever post something in Japanese which I don't understand, please BAN me.
Remember the No Russian mission in MW2? yeah if a developer would go there it's the CoD devs.

They said they want to show "the whole story" and not shy away from anything.

I hope they offer a more objective based Zombies mode rather than the traditional Horde stuff. Nothing convoluted like BO3 though, please.

It's not bad, but it's lesser than what Treyarch has done with BOIII without a doubt. Characters, maps, easter eggs, the episodic nature of it all, etc. Gameplay has you doing more than surviving for 20 rounds and getting bored. IW's Zombies, while putting on a fresh face and being lighthearted, pales compared to the depth of Treyarch's mode.

And yeah, Exo-Zombies has been the worst, despite the actual Exo-Suit being pretty fun and able to buy all perks. The enemy types kill that mode.

These guys need to get over the hump of Exo-Zombies and IW Zombies. Doing something different to the mode besides trying to ape Treyarch (again) isn't doing either developer any favors. In my opinion, of course.

Yeah, even with the damn advanced movements, they still did it best. Still did the most innovative campaign with BOII, which I'd say IW finally toppled, excluding character choice and multiple endings.

Non-regenerating health is the best thing I've read so far.

Regenerating health is fine enough to use, but too often its a crutch for bad encounter design. Removing that hopefully puts more onus on the developers to balance scenarios so that players that pay attention and use the game's systems to the fullest can avoid getting hit altogether.

Infinite Warfare had a mode without regenerating health, but the AI and combat didn't really support it, so it just made the game frustrating.

The best thing out of exo-zombies was being john malcovich
;)

You're goddamn right.

They had a great cast for that mode. All WASTED, though.

I'm hoping the way they do Nazi Zombies is more akin to Extinction where it's more objective based and you can beat it.

Not that you can't do that already in the wave-based version of the zombie mode, but I think it would help them differentiate themselves from the Treyarch model and do something different to shake up the mode itself. Because no one's touching Treyarch on the way they're operating on the game mode.

Agreed. IW did deliver with the IW campaign lol, but other than that 3arc nailed Bo3 MP and maps IMO. The specialist weren't as OP as I thought and actually were done really well and weren't over the top. 3arc shit the bed with Black Ops 3s campaign tho but I know they will deliver next year on all fronts.

I wonder what the big set piece moment might be for the story.

Maybe the invasion of Poland at the start of the war?

1st Infantry liberated Flossenbürg. It actually could serve as a good somber ending. Like you complete The Battle of the Bulge, and everyone's in highest spirits crossing the Rhine, and then you stumble into that horror.

From the features list:
Other characters appear including female resistance fighters, a soldier in an African-American unit (the U.S. Army was still segregated in WWII), a British officer and even a child.

I am thinking that if they do anything, it might be using the
child
and doing a "walking" level kind of thing but maybe
via flashback before the "bad people" came
. I seriously doubt you are going to see a level like that from the "
Yasir Al-Fulani
" point of view.
Oh, I guess I could see that too. Experiencing Kristallnacht or something similar first hand, to see the beginning of the holocaust rather than the end of it.

Wolfenstien: TNO says it happened

It's a copypasta from BF1's announcement
Isn't that science fiction though? I guess I meant a serious WW2 game.

That's what I'm figuring that they would do, which might still be too much for quite a few people. I'm all for the game including that kind of content since it is important to remember what the stakes were in that war, even in something that fantasizes the combat itself, but if it pans out, this could be the real "on a tightrope without a net" moment for the entire series if it even has a whiff of being insensitive.
If they do it like the other games, they'll probably have a big warning that lets you skip the scene entirely. But I expect it to be a very passive experience, perhaps like walking through one of those interactive museum exhibits that you see from time to time, than anything highly interactive. I'd expect the only people who would be offended are the Breitbart crowd anyway.

Honestly, I think I would be happy if they included a Japanese-American soldier, since it's an interesting aspect of American war history that is completely ignored. Imagine being hated at home and still finding the patriotic spirit to believe in your country and volunteer for conscription? It'd be like being a Muslim soldier in Trump's army today.

As it's still Call of Duty I'm expecting you shoot all the Nazis, press F to liberate and then get a parade in honor of America as fireworks go off and the national anthem plays.
Heh, I can see that. Press F to open gates to prison camp. Band of Brothers music plays.

Im going to definitely play the campaign. I had hopes that there would be paratroopers segments but I'm not complaining at what we're getting.

Two questions:

1). How violent and "visceral" will this game be? Are we talking a Saving Private Ryan/Hacksaw Ridge level of blood & gore?

2). Was that PS4 Pro footage shown in the trailer?

Yeah, IW Zombies is really solid. I can see not enjoying the tone, but the gameplay is fantastic, and the setup on the three maps so far is very simple, especially compared to Black Ops III and even II. You don't have to do any of the Easter Egg stuff to have a good time.

By the way, I haven't followed a lot the news about this : will we play as someone else than an american soldier, if only for some parts of the story ? There's the mention of a global perspective but I don't know if it answer my question.
