Took a shot and impulse-bought NBA Playgrounds. Looks fun and it's been a while since I've played a nice basketball video game, probably since the SNES days.

Best Buy has eShop cards again. Mailed, looks like, still not digital codes.

Though my first order got cancelled because they "couldn't verify my information" 🤷🏻*♂️

Brave Dungeon looks like my sort of game! Seeing as it's been released in the West before i assume this will be English friendly at launch or at least released over here at some point.

All of the Legend of Dark Witch games have been released in the West (even the original version of Rudymical, which is released/releasing on eShop this week), so it's a near-guarantee that it'll see a western release.

I didn't see any threads for Rudymical. I just downloaded it and am gonna try a bit before I go to bed. Can't wait for more rhythm games on the Switch. Circle Ent. and Flyhigh Works are killin' it.

LMK what you think. I wasn't impressed by videos/trailers, and I still have a ton of VOEZ to play so I might just stick with that for my rhythm fix.

For some reason Rudymical isn't listed in the PR or website for NA, despite Circle Ent. claiming its out today globally. Guess it's delayed to next week?

Grabbed Rudymical, the price was just on the right side of impulse buy for me.

Edit: Is this:

Minecraft: Switch Edition: Builder's Pack (Mojang, DLC) - €16.99/£12.79

A compilation of other things listed below?

Err, about the pack, nope, pretty sure it's a separate pack. That would be one hell of a pack if it included everything else.

The Builder's Pack contains the following:

Biome Settlers Skin Pack 1
Candy Texture Pack
Cartoon Texture Pack
Greek Mythology Mash-up
Pattern Texture Pack
Plastic Texture Pack

(Going by this)

Seems Rudymical showed up on the NA eShop despite not being in the PR. I know Minecraft is big but they could at least attempt to promote the little guys...

Anyway, I think I'll go nuts this week and grab Minecraft, Kamiko, AND Rudymical!

Battle Sports Mekuru releases next week in Japan, ¥980

New trailer
Wow, next week? That seems kind of quick.

For a $10 game, seems....okay? It looks like "let's make bomberman be about stomping the ground", though it also made me remember that Kirby 64 mini-game, Checkerboard Chase. Man, if there was a mode similar to that, I might be more willing.

I was wondering why nobody had posted here all month...

I forgot to sub to the May thread. Woops

anyhow, Mutant Mudds Super Challenge on 3DS and Wii U cross-buy for $2.49 is quite. a. deal.

How is Rudymical? Thinking about buying it, as I'm a sucker for rhythm games...

It's what you expect from the Dark Witch series: an overly complicated yet completely irrelevant story mixed with cutesy anime girls and solid gameplay. You press one of four buttons in time with an enemy's attack coming towards you, and they can mix it up by throwing them in varying patterns. There are 13 bosses/songs and 4 difficulties to play them on, and there are some cosmetic unlockables to get by getting A ranks on each stage. Overall I'd say it's worth the asking price but you're not missing out on a must-have game if you wait for a sale either.

Looks like no Wii U eShop update this week? Can it be the end already?

Nah, there still be a few releases here and there.

I'm still working on getting my last game out: Drop It: Block Paradise. But been a little behind lately, so prob a June or July launch (July would be ironic, as both my previous games launched in July.)

So Mutant Mudds Super Challenge and Xeodrifter are both cross-buy? Also, is Super Challenge a sequel to Mutant Mudds or an expanded edition?

The former is cross-buy, the second isn't on the Wii U eShop in Europe, so I'm not sure. Mutant Mudds Super Challenge has completely new levels; all power-ups are already unlocked, and no grandma this time. It's like a level pack (I think 40 new levels and 5 boss fights).

Noticed that Nintendo has started(?) doing some slight promotions of various games, via the News app there's a "local multiplayer" highlight that takes you to a section of the eShop containing all local multiplayer capable games.

I suppose they'll use the News section to do these things rather than from within the eShop itself.

Which is why I've bought none of them. I'm past the age where I'll play a sadistic game just to see how I do. I don't have the time nor desire the frustration. Too bad, as I've heard they're good and use the 3D effects well. Just not interested in banging my head against a wall anymore.

the other ones aren't too bad. Super Challenge though...

I thought the original Mudds was fairly benign as far as retro style platformers, apart from a couple stages

I wonder if this has to do (probably) with the more flexible release dates since game releases now happen much more irregularly (instead of during the main update slot on Thursday afternoon) and potentially shorter lead times for nailing down dates?! This is all wild speculation on my part. I remember NOE requiring things to be set in stone about two weeks in advance or so in the olden days? Which would give them enough time to compile their PR for Monday mornings.

Who knows. It's annoying is all I do know for sure.

I suspect it's because they're not always sure what's going to get through cert in a given week. A lot of these games are coming in hot.

There's another neo geo game in the coming soon section on the Japanese store, I can't recognise what it is though. Some kind of fighting game, possibly one of the ones already released here?
