Limbo of the Lost stole from Oblivion, Morrowind, UT2K4, Diablo, Silent Hill, more?

Douchebag. Yes, me.

The only way anyone could have done such large-scale asset theft would be using one of those programs that dumps out the contents of a single frame from a running game into a 3D file. Or do all of those games offer easily convertable 3D/texture assets?

I said wow

It's a 2D point and click adventure. He just took screengrabs and threw them up as the backgrounds.

OH SNAP, I thought he had gone through all this work to steal the 3D data, but all he did was hit "PrintScreen" :lol

I've managed to find the box art for the game (see below).

I'm assuming this guy isn't too handy with a pair of scissors.

[edit] what? the game already has its own box art? - http://www.trisynergy.com/images/box3d/170x220/limbo-3d-170x220.jpg

The rest of the games are on the back.

Those trailers are awesome!

*Edit: After reading though all this I am surprised that Sonic and his shitty friends have not showed up in this game.

That's probably a good thing.

Hmm....the more you dig around, the more it seems this is not a real game....no dev website, and one of the publisher websites don't exist either....could it be? Internet > GAF?! The title can be shortened to LOL....lol

The publisher have released statements that they have stopped distribution of the game and are "just as shocked as everyone else".
And taking a look at the publisher's website I do recognize Democracy as a real game I've heard of before.

Even if they did steal a lot of stuff, that's a lot of work to go through for a joke. I mean, there's hundreds of screenshots up on various gaming sites, corporate websites, trailers, voice work, and so on.

Do you believe in Fate or Destiny? If not, maybe you should reconsider as the twin brothers, Fate and Destiny, are battling for supremacy over Mankind! Their battleground: a vast citadel called The Keep of Lost Souls, created before time and in a realm known as LIMBO. If Fate wins, the 7th Gate to the Kingdom of Shadows will be opened, Armageddon shall be birthed and Mankind will suffer for all eternity. If Destiny wins, mankind prospers. Fate's weapons of choice are the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse, the devious puzzles of the Keep and a few unsavory characters. Destiny's weapon is Captain Benjamin S. Briggs and...You! Captain Briggs carries the Seal to the book of Sufferance, a book crafted by the Elders, scripted from the souls of the Lost and inked with their blood and suffering. The Evil Four Horsemen guard this precious tome at the very top of the Keep and the Captain will have to reach this most ancient of books and seal it. The way ahead will be a path drenched in puzzles and littered with denizens of the Keep. His only true ally is you! Limbo of the Lost is a scary adventure game set in the world of the undead. Do you have what it takes to right the wrong and save mankind? Plunge into an original fantasy world, where the undead are waiting to meet you. The eternal battle between Destiny & Fate awaits you...

Spectator gameplay - You do not control the main character, you ask him to do certain actions, actions that sometimes he will or will not do. Over 30 NPC characters to talk with 6 levels of logical devious puzzles Hours of dialogue with 100% lip-synched 3D models 100% mouse driven, with optional keyboard shortcuts Save your game anywhere at anytime No dying, action sequences or sliding puzzles Bonus Limbo DVD Movie

Tri-Synergy (the US publisher of this) isn't exactly a real publisher in the traditional sense. They are sort of a like a vanity press thing for books, they help companies publish titles and get them into retail.

They need to make a movie about this.

I can already see Derek Smart playing the role of the developer.

They were apparently involved, at some level, in publishing Runaway and The Longest Journey.

Steve: I could talk about this project for hours but I would prefer you to play, experience and enjoy it, so I will hush up for now. But before I say a fond farewell I will tell you this much, If anyone can honestly tell me after playing the game that they did not have an enjoyable gaming experience or have a favorite character that they have met whilst playing the game, I will never mention or speak of the sequel — LIMBO of the LOST II — Temptations of Tarot.

Can't wait for the sequel!

Just have to wait for Elder Scrolls 6, Painkiller 4, Diablo 3, Silent Hill 7, etc.

Only 10 more years...
