The flight plan I just filed with the agency list me, my men, Dr. Pavel here. But only one of you!
My top one that seems to make people irrationally angry:

Pets are a giant waste of time, energy, money and are horrible for the environment. No one should have pets.

People who don't like dogs are inherently untrustworthy.

Despite my great efforts, I don't like Kanye West or his music. I've listened to a bunch of his albums, read many thousands-of-words-worth of think pieces, and have engaged compassionately with extremely passionate fans of his art. I am not so bold as to say he hasn't made some good music, and I absolutely recognize that he is an influential unfiltered artist who challenges the status quo of over-adorned songwriting in favor of direct and raw self-expression, but he does nothing for me at all personally.

When I first listened to College Dropout I gave some of his more juvenile content a pass because there were some genuinely powerful songs in there. I thought this was a rapper who was going to "grow up" with his albums and become something terrific. But in 2017 I still find a lot of his content juvenile and I think it taints what could be extremely significant work.

But who am I to deny significance when he is otherwise viewed as the most significant rapper of the age? I'm nobody. People love Kanye West and they love his art. I just don't. Maybe I should have started with his newest stuff and worked backwards. Somebody told me that's the "right way" to listen to him for the first time. But that ship has sailed. I don't know if I'll ever come around.

Jesus Walks is a great song though.

You've listened to MBDTF right?

That only about 3 pre Craig bond movies have aged well, (license to kill, her majesties secret service and goldeneye) and that Casino Royale is the only good Craig movie.

There are too many people on the road to justify the carpool lane. We're in this together. When it's rush hour (which is the majority of the day at this point, honestly) and four lanes is still not enough to handle the volume, I think it's fair that we share that fifth lane in order to help with the flow.

Pets have a proven positive effect on you in general, so no it isn’t a waste.

Blade Runner 2049 has way more problematic stuff (oritentalism, male gaze) than Ghost in the Shell and yet it wasnt criticized as much because the lead character was a man, not a woman.

Well, you're screwed. This will dominate the thread, leading to album rankings and such.

Oh yeah, I don't get pets either. Like something tiny - a fish or a hamster or whatever - I get that. They're like a plant but with more affection, they have their own little space, it's all good. I've had a fish before, he was a good dude, albeit way too much effort to keep clean.

But the idea of an animal wandering freely through my home is... ugh. Why would you want that? I don't care how much affection you get from your weird fuzzy slave creature, shit's gross.

Forcing people in the US to vote is a terrible idea, and would probably backfire horribly on the democrats.

Older vehicles are superior to newer ones in most ways.

I understand not liking pets, but humans are much more gross than pets. Plus, we actually have to talk to humans, which is awful.

I've never been a fan of Ghostbusters. Watched it once and said "okay." Whenever I try watching it again I lose interest halfway through.

Personally I don't like having pets because they're living beings who you grow to love like children. The problem is, if you're lucky, you will outlive your pets.

I don't want to introduce more heartbreak in my life than I need to.

That's fair, it's the thing I dread the most with my dog. However, living your life denying yourself love for fear of losing something seems somewhat unhealthy in the long term.

Kanye is mediocre on his best days, and self indulgent crap on his worst.

Yes, I've listened to MBDTF, Graduation etc. He's mush mouthed, has terrible flow and lame lyrics. I'll grant you he's a good producer, but he should be working for other people.

As much as I don't like his music, his trainers/attempts at fashion are even worse, proper emperors new clothes situation.

It's just because that relationship would be so short term. Doesn't seem worth it. I loved my dog, Squall for what it's worth. But I don't wanna go through that again haha.

- Ripped jeans look terrible and I don't understand anyone who buys them. Although, I don't know how unpopular this opinion is anymore.

- I think pop and hip-hop suck.

- Airborne is a fantastic band and deserves more recognition. And jazz needs a resurgence.

- This whole shaving/trimming the sides of your head and growing more on top thing looks awful.

- Religion is a bunch of bullshit. Why do you need to believe in a mythical overlord to be a good person? With that said, Hell doesn't seem like a such a bad place. It's warm and nobody judges you.

- There's too much hate by association. For example; if you do this that means you support that and therefor you're a horrible person. According to that logic, if I use a bathroom, I support Hitler because he used a bathroom. That's not how it works. You can agree with and support different ideas without being associated with anything you find negative.

- Racists can go fuck themselves.

I think it wasn't criticized as much because no one saw the movie.

Yes, I think it's his best album - from what I've listened to anyway.

Well, you're screwed. This will dominate the thread, leading to album rankings and such.

That's not my intention. This is a thread for unpopular opinions, and I was quite apologetic and objective with how I presented my feelings. I didn't make any value judgments outside the realm of my own POV. I explicitly speak to the merits of the work while maintaining a personal perspective at odds with the agreed upon reality.

There is nothing to convince me of and nothing to defend. There is no need to panic.

My movie tastes: the thread.

Most of the "omg plot twist" movies like Fight Club are often overrated and not quite as enjoyable to watch once you know the trick. I have mixed feelings about Star Wars, Episode VI is trash imho, Episode I aside probably the worst one - ironically Rogue One might have been one of the best ones, almost a shame they wasted that storyline on a side story. I think Tarantino movies are vastly overrated thanks to being almost the only "artsy" director that is mainstream enough. James Bond movies only started to get good with Craig. Most old movies aged horribly, the only movies from before the 80's I can legit enjoy is the absolutely perfect Rosemary's Baby. The Saw series was mostly improving, 5-7 are pretty amazing if you can get over some cheesy acting by the trap victims. Sharknado is one of the best thing to happen to the movie industry, by the fifth chapter they went so deep into the fuckery that I'm legit looking forward to what bullshit they come up with - it's hilarious, and practically ruined less inventive B-movies for me (which is a kind of movie I enjoy watching for the laughs). The One is a good action flick. Fast & Furious movies got decent when they got rid of the street racing crap, now at least they're enjoyable (if cheesy) action movies. The Twilight movies aren't that bad, bar the fact the final part shouldn't have been cut into 2 movies because it's literally the less intense part of the whole story. The MCU movies are mostly boring overrated superhero flicks where they desperately try to make the characters interesting but they mostly fail - only when they decide to have some fun (Guardians 2 [the first Guardians was insanely boring tbh] and Iron Man 3) the movies end up being good; they have such a big budget and they only produce predictable and unexciting movies, at least DCU tries to bring something new (although it usually fails).

I could go on but you probably hate me enough as it is.

I don't really think the last point is all that controversial. Also, there's plenty of great jazz out there!

I love the transformers movies, I understand the criticism but you just need to go in looking for dumb fun.

The latest one 'the last knight' got 15% on Rotten Tomatoes and 28% on Metacritic, I think maybe it deserves to be treated as a dumb fun film and rated higher.

Unlike GITS, Blade Runner 2049 is a good film.

Oh I know. I'm just saying what I predict will happen. I'm not crazy about Kanye either. But he's like a second coming on here.

Interstellar is trash. Looks real nice though.

My Chemical Romance is an underated band, and Danger Days is a low key amazing album. Oh God, now that’s out there

I really really hate most first person shooters

Attack on Titan is a mediocre series created by a hackjob. Studio Wit tries to salvage some with excellent direction and cool looking animation, but they can only do so much.

Death Note is one of my guilty pleasures. I like watching all the different adaptions and see how they handle this trainwreck this time.

Code Geass sucks. R3 is already a mistake.

Pingu in the City is the gift that keeps on giving, noot noot.

I don’t like weed.
I don’t like people sleeping around and I reckon people think with their genitalia way too much.

I do like weed.
However, I think most people are just dumb fuck-monkies. Like Geordie Shore characters.
Would all sell their soul for a cock or a pussy. Or money. People are too fucking stupid to notice their own incredibly transparant embarrassing behavior. To dumb to be happy.

Here's a fun one: Though there are some shady and disgusting porn companies, there's nothing wrong with porn per se. If you think porn made you develop unhealthy attitudes and thoughts towards women, that was just what was in you already. Women getting comfortable with their sexuality shouldn't lead to you automatically objectifying them in every possible situation.

I also think porn gets a bad rap in general and there are plenty of sex positive women working in the industry of all races, looks (femme/butch), and sizes.

Edit:

I should state I have no problem with trans gendered people. However having said that, if you were born a Male, or Female, it should still be law to identify as such on a government issued ID.

Why the fuck does this matter to you?

Why though?

Why should you have to use the one you don't associate with or identify as at all? It doesn't help anyone else identify you. Why is your birth sex valuable to a police officer or a TSA agent or some guy at the bank when your actual presented gender is how you will actually be identified?

I'm not being pedantic and my intention is not to seem hostile. I'm just curious about the root of your opinion on this.

There should be separate Sex and Gender fields on IDs

This is fair enough.

There should be tolls to go in and out of the city, no free parking and taxes on private parking inside cities to pay for public transit.

Every MOBA is bad and esports is dumb and I don’t like Blizzard games

Marvel movies that aren’t Toby Macguire Spiderman are plotless and bad

Religion is good unless used as a justification for cruelty or oppression

Waking up super early is better than staying up late

Why though?

Is currently staging a hunger strike outside Gearbox HQ while trying to hate them to death
I was gonna say that it's my extreme hate for Coldplay, but that's not a controversial opinion as deep down everybody hates Coldplay - they just aren't ready to admit it to themselves.

Also James Corden and Simon Pegg are not funny and should fuck off.

Harry Potter fucking sucks

This, he's nothing but an Aldi Luke Skywalker.

Conversely, JK Rowling is one of my favourite people in the world, an extremly positive person all round.
