Portable console screenshot thread (3DS/Vita) - Rules in OP

EatChildren

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
Thrilling sequel to the console screenshot thread, this thread is for all your Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita posting dreams.

Thread rules below.

1. Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita screenshots only Keep PC, emulator, and console shots out.
2. Limit of 3 images per post. Regardless of platform, three images per post prevents thread bloat.
3. No double posting. Rule 2 is pointless if you can spam. So you can't.
4. Try to remember to include the game's name in your post's subject header. Helps people recognise the title!
5. Critique and be opinionated about games/shots, but don't threadshit. This is not the place for you to moan about how all 3DS screenshots drag the thread quality down because Vita. Be fucking nice for once in your life.
6. Be sensitive to spoilers. Big game spoilers, such as scenes and plot events, especially for recent games, should not be blindly posted. You can post a link to the image, marked as spoilers, but not with image tags. Have some courtesy.

How do I post a 3DS screenshot? Update your 3DS to the latest firmware, allowing registration of (or linking to) an NNID and access to Miiverse. During play press the Home button to pause the game. Access Miiverse, and post your image on the service. Using your PC, access Miiverse to find your post. Save your image, and upload it to abload, imgur, or whatever. Post here.

Finding your image URL on Miiverse can be tricky. Here's some instructions:

Miiverse doesn't let you save screenshots with right clicking, so Miiverse screenshot saving instructions:

When you find the post with the screenshot you want to save, view the page source (in Chrome, just right click anywhere on the page and it'll be an option), scroll down a bit to where it says
Code:
<div class="screenshot-container"><img src="https://URL HERE"></div>
and click that URL to open the screenshot in a new tab. You can technically embed that url in IMG tags to embed the image here, but it's probably smarter to just rehost it like the OP says.

You can also just Print Screen or whatever, but this is faster and easier. :p

You can also right click on the image, select "Inspect Element", then hit the drop down arrow to the right of the automatically highlighted <div class="screenshot-container">. This will show you an <img scr=URL that you can click on to directly access the image, save it, and upload to an image sharing service.

How do I post Vita screenshots? Press the PS button and Start button at the same time during play. The screen will flash, and save a screenshot to your image folder. Connect to a PC, upload to abload, imgur, or whatever. Post here.

Amazing first reply and very enlightning information about the 3DS screenshot functionality. Does it need to be uploaded immediately after going into the home menu? Like not able to save it as an image to be bulk uploaded later?

If you can view the Miiverse page source with your browser, you can grab the image link and upload it to imgur or elsewhere in that way.

The only way to upload a screenshot from the 3DS (of games that currently support this) at the moment is by posting it to Miiverse.

Are posts like this okay? I want Sony to change the Vita UI like this. Instead of automatically deleting the bubble, it should grey it out. When you click the bubble, it gives you the option to redownload the game.

Also, I had forgotten how aliased those bubbles were.

Are people going to complain that 3DS doesn't count in this thread

Someone would have a hard time arguing that the 3DS isn't a portable!

I'd like that too, they'd have to get rid of the 100 bubble limit though.

what about people who have a 3DS capture device?

they can get screenshots from a couple of games that aren't supported by miiverse atm.

Subbed. I'll do some much better ones than this, but I don't keep a lot of Vita screens on my PC at the moment.

lol perfect first reply. Also, Vita games that don't run at native res are going to look like ass in this thread.

Sorry guys, these are old Vita screens that I had uploaded to flickr back in the day. I'll use another image uploader once I blow through these

A question please.

Can the screenshot from the 3DS gotten through the latest update be exported? I assume it can because people can post screenshots here... but how? Sorry for my newbish question.

Edit: I apologize, I missed the explanation in the OP. Thank you.

Might I also suggest a rule to be added to the OP that people posting screenshots are required to post the names of the games?

I will participate in this once I get back later from work.
