definitely a hard pass on the ninjago minfigs for me, though I will pick up the pigtail unikitty girl and probably bricklink some of the accessories (bowls, spoons, corn flakes)

The Ninjago minifigs look like a definite skip for me, with the probable exceptions of the ramen bowl guy and the selfie-stick guy, both have cool new parts

But convincing myself that I'm "saving" ~$60-80 by not getting them (as I usually get all the minifigs) will probably push me over the edge into buying that amazing giant city set lol

You're right. Looking closely its clearly on a baseplate. I just didn't see it. I guess that the dimensions simply refer to the protruding points of the set at its widest and deepest points.
The 10" -> 12", probably, but the 10" -> 16" puzzles me... A 18 studs long part protuding? I can't see it. Even if it's 9 studs on both sides.

Received a 30 euro coupon for a toy store chain from my inlaws (my father-in-law always gets one as a present from his company. Who knows why?)

Went to see if there was anything cool te pick up, but nothing really grabbed me. The Quad Jumper was what I was looking for, but it wasn't placed in the ailes. I could see the boxes way up above, where they store their stock, so it means they didn't have place to display it. This means in two or three weeks they'll get an alarm this set sells like shit, so it will be discounted. :p

Coupon is usable until december though, so I might just use it to get a 30 euro discount on BB-8 come september.

I did felt and grabbed two minifig bags though. Rocket Boy and Corn Dude are mine!

Maybe TLG views the right front hand side as the front, and the left front hand side as the side of the building? IOW we're viewing the measurements backwards? I could see the tree blossom branches being and additional 5-6 inches above the 10" baseplate minimum.

..and then you'll want the minifigs to further populate the city?

Obviously I grabbed in the wrong spot-under the blue foot bridges on top. Not a huge deal as it stayed in big chunks. I picked it up at a garage sale a couple of weeks ago and assembled to make sure it was complete. It's so massive that I'll probably end up breaking it down for my eventual Lego room in the future.

Ha, glad to know I'm not the only one this has happened to. I still haven't fixed mine yet.

Yeeesh. Yeah, picking it up by the top connection would be perilous. I was terrified to try that. But once reassembled, the archways where the cars go through are the best places and most stable to move it around by.

And sorry to hear about the disaster.

Happened to take my son to a lighthouse at the lake today while up in northern Ontario.

Happy, because I just happened to order that lighthouse Lego kit that was on sale.last week but feared he might not understand what it was.

I've been building the Minecraft Mountain Cave and I have to say that it is a very enjoyable build. There is very little repetition so far. I also like how there is an interior Technic skeleton surrounded by the Minecraft visuals. It makes it very strong. I don't have any fears of it falling apart like I did with the Silent Mary.

Built the Scout Trooper and bike. Thing looks amazing and is pretty big but... these kind of builds just aren't really my thing. Can't say I enjoyed putting it together. Not that it doesn't have some cool stuffgoing on, but I feel a lot of the shape and detail of the bike comes from very specific types of parts and not really from building with pieces.

Then again, I like these figs for their display value, and of every one I've built until now, this one takes the cake

Is there a normal amount of time before sets go back in stock? I missed Apollo V at launch and have been checking daily since then.

Pics or it didn't happen! Speaking of which, maybe I need to change the pose on mine again.
I do so wish the waist turned at least a little bit.

The Scout Trooper is a standard constraction build. If you've done one of them before, most of it is similar. However, that speeder itself takes the cake!

Finishing bag #2. It's amazing how a lot of the parts came together. I'm always amazed by Technic parts and how the parts come together.

More than half of the time, I have no idea what I was building. You have odd stuff like this but somehow it all fixes really well together.

The speeder on its own...

Very lovely build. I've always enjoyed the speeder battle scene in RotJ. Now I feel like getting a few more speeders!

after a long hiatus on working on the batcave I got a start on the Batcomputer this weekend

I'll probably do a custom sticker for the middle of the screen, I was thinking maybe a close up of robin in the CCTV going "hello secret camera" unless anyone has any better ideas.

There'll be a little C shaped console with a chair in the center of it all when I'm done with it all, i'll have to sneak in the red batphone too

The Alfred parental lock with the short kid-like Batman could be funny too.

Did that scene make it into the movie? I can't recall

EDIT> If I went with the parental lock idea I reckon I'd definitely have to do it an all screens, that'd be awesome

How far north?

Sauble beach. So just enough to be bear country.

Did another night of working on the
lego creator plane with my 3 and half year old and my grandfather.

Had a blast. He's starting to get better at doing it and his great grandfather really seems to get sucked into the fun of the build.

Yea it was, that's the scene. Totally worth it to see Batman locked out of his Batputer. Either that or have Bat-Porn on it.

I felt dirty posting it. Still weirds me the hell out.

Only time the Barbara/Bruce pairing didn't bother me was LEGO Batman, since they were seemingly close in age, and she was a new person to him. And she came across as stronger and more together than he did.

I liked how they were intentionally vague about Bruce's age in the movie. They showed clips of him in his really old costumes implying he was really up there but then quickly handwave it off with "wow he ages really well". There's no universe where Batman and Batgirl aren't a weird creepy thing. Batman needs to stick with Catwoman meowmeowmeow.

I wonder what lego will bring to San Diego comic con this year, my bet is the Luke x Han Solo Death Star escape set from Star Wars celebration

Or more 2 pack brick headz

From one site I read, it'll be back in stock at the start of July and we're also getting the double points.

You got it answered fast - Brickheadz duo Spider-man and Venom

So that's one of them - wonder what will be the exclusive for the 21st and 23rd?

Or does the Hollywood Reporter just have the dates wrong?

EDIT - Brickset is suggesting that the numbering on the box (15 and 16) may indicate that another duo (13 and 14) will be available as well.

Looks like its 12 studs wide, almost in scale with the others

If its $160 I'll pass, thats just too much for me. Hopefully they're nice and its $130. Bigger is not always better as that usually means its more expensive. I liked the previous vehicles cause they were great expert level builds at a relatively low cost.

Cheers for the extra info. I'm not sure what to make of it. Looks a little bit disappointing, but we've been spoiled this year with sets.

I am not sure either. It does not wow me. I have to see it next another vehicle, but for sure it is not for this yesr, which is already packed.

Last yeat sets weren't numbered, were they?
