No doubt VIII will come eventually (it sold like gangbusters compared to IX), but IX is much easier to port as the PC version is pretty recent and has all the additions SE like to add to the latest FF rereleases.

I honestly think they're saving VIII for something. People need to be patient.

Also that was a great trailer and the background themes I want badly. VIII will hopefully get the same stuff when it's announced.

My guess is that they'd rather do an FF9 style remaster and port it to PC and PS4, than just port the PS version. Which would definitely be the right thing to do as the FF9 port is great (as you'll see). Patience.
